This book was incredibly helpful to me as I was trying to learn statistics and familiarize myself with SPSS for my thesis. The writing is pleasantly simple and easy to grasp. This book will not teach you about the math involved in statistical tests, but will help you determine which tests are appropriate for specific data. I recommend reading it as you play around with SPSS because it gives you sample data and specific instructions for conducting tests.
