A book that zooms in on the finanical aspects of getting a divorce. Most divorce books don't get down into the numbers on the money issues; this one does. There are tasks and worksheets galore, to an exhausting but necessary level. My only gripe is that I was left feeling like I didn't understand retirement and investing aspects as well as I should, but it does sound like that might be left to another book or two--the issues are very complex. If the situation applies, the book is recommended. A book that zooms in on the finanical aspects of getting a divorce. Excellent book. It really helped me to focus when it came time to split up with my ex, and it brought to mind important considerations for the future that considering my state of mind at the time, had I not read this book, would have slipped through the cracks and screwed me in the end. So good read when you are going through the process of divorce.

I read the 2014 11th Edition of this book and found it helpful, up to date and a great resource. Attorney Violet Woodhouse has only increased her knowledge and credentials since writing previous editions of this book and is now at CFLS, CFP and attorney. The NOLO books are an excellent resource for any legal situation, especially divorce.
