This is a bad book, poorly written and published by one of those "on demand" vanity publishers. Still, I couldn't help but kind of like the author. The book tells the "incredible" true story of an Australian (the author) in his 30's who decides to travel from Mexico to Colombia via Central America. He exagerates a pretty standard backpacker vacation through Central America into some sort of epic quest full of danger and guerillas around every corner. But really, its just a vacation some dude too This is a bad book, poorly written and published by one of those "on demand" vanity publishers. But really, its just a vacation some dude took in 1998. God bless him, but this isn't some amazing adventure...its a trip that countless college kids take every year. But somehow to him its some herculean test, his own words, he compares himself to Hercules throughout the book. There is often some pretty ridiculous writing going on here and in general its pretty list like writing; he went there and did this and that, etc. But good for him. He had fun and published himself a book. If he thinks he had himself an adventure I guess thats good enough.
