Summer Nelson grew up the daughter of old money and lived a charmed life--Luke Nelson did not but somehow they managed to make a go at it as teens and ended up married as adults. When two unforeseen tragedies take place in the Nelson family neither of them are sure if their marriage can survive. Lack of communication from Luke and a heavy workload with the wedding season in full swing compound Summer’s stress. The appearance of an old flame who is wealthy, successful, and single complicates things even further. Summer’s best friend and work partner, Ashley isn’t without “love” issues of her own. They both have their chance at rediscovering love while planning the most fabulous wedding of the year…or will they? There’s something coming onshore that can potentially be devastating to lives and weddings! A Wedding to Remember in Charleston, South Carolina, is a story of weathering life’s storms together. Nobody comes out unscathed but the results of the rebuilding of hearts will make them stronger than ever. Annalisa Daughety has woven a tale that has more charm than a Southern belle with just as much soul. Barbour Publishers has released a few really impressive starts to this destination series. Stories that feature mature relationships and broken people who come through the fire are some of my favorites. Daughety deftly paints a portrait of what I imagine any real-life couple could face. The struggles, the doubts, the anger and most importantly faith are represented in a way that anyone can relate to whether you are married or not. While this was a bit more on the serious side it is still a story about the joy of true love and there is a wedding, a cute kid and a dog. I enjoyed every minute of it and look forward to more other novels from this author. If you’re a fan of the South and weddings this is definitely a book you want to remember to add to your wish list. **Complimentary review book provided by the publisher

The plot, characters and storyline are so relatable and relalistic that i could relate to Ashley in many ways. Chapter 20 got really sad for me my heart went out to Summer so much in this book but im glad her and Luke got a happy ending. I wish this book was part of a series cause id love to see how Summer and Luke are doing now!! Can't wait to read more by Annalisa in the future!!

I had a really hard time with this book and struggled to want to keep going. Due to the blurb, I really thought the hurricane was going to happen earlier in the book and that this was going to be like a comedy-romance or at least have a bit more interest. I found myself annoyed by the two main characters and irritated that they seemed to keep making the same mistakes over and over again. I also thought the side romance between Ashley and Justin was a bit silly. I mean who gets upset over six year I had a really hard time with this book and struggled to want to keep going. I do feel like there was a great message and that this book had a lot of potential but it just fell flat for me.

I live in a suburb of Charleston, South Carolina and love reading books about this area. I really enjoyed how this book was about making a marriage work instead of the average start of a relationship book. Very relatable characters and, of course, a beautiful setting!

An excellent book. It is a great example of how regardless the burdens one is called to bear things can work out when the Lord is in on our plans.

Felt like I really got to know these characters. Loved that it really focused on two storylines that overlapped and combined. One was about a couple that had been married for seven years and had hit a rough patch due to each dealing with the tragedies that had happened over the last year differently (Luke & Summer). The second focused on a budding romance between their best friends (Justin & Ashley). The second focused on a budding romance between their best friends (Justin & Ashley). I loved that the one couple was already married and the story focused on them trying to deal with reconciling their relationship after they drifted apart when they deal with the tragedies differently. It is not very often romance books focus on this type of relationship. Not communicating had caused a rift between them until it built up to the point where it boiled over. Both had to come to terms with what had caused this and how they were going to fix it. During their hard times one had turned away from God, while the other clung. They both learned that keeping things inside and hidden from others does not help. For the second couple, while they had their ups and downs they learned they had to be their true to themselves. Luke and Summer's story carried some heavy heartache, while Justin and Ashley's added some lightheartedness to the book while still touching on the importance of being true to yourself. Even though I liked all four characters Justin was my favourite, he knew what he wanted from life and was willing to take the risks to do what he felt was right. Loved that the story was told from each characters point of view, felt like this really helped me get to know them.

He has problems of his own and opens up to Summer just as the hurricane is heading towards the hotel they are at where she's the wedding planner. Justin and Ashley are also there and they get to talk about things also.. Love the location and also how both of their sides of the story are told, very fun one to read.. I received this book through the First Reads giveaway program on Goodreads. This was a wonderful story about Luke and Summer Nelson, a couple who is slowly pulling apart as they react differently to recent tragedies. Although both know that their marriage is on shaky ground, neither knows how to fix it. This book flows easily and is well-paced as each character deals with painful miscommunication and tension. But at the end, readers will see the importance of patience and the determination of the characters to make things right, making this a very sweet book.

Love, loss, heartache, forgiveness, drama and happiness--this book has it all. I have enjoyed all of Annalisa Daughety's books, and this one tops the list of my favorites! I felt like I was watching a movie because I wanted to yell at my "screen" to tell Summer and Luke what to do to fix things, but Daughety effortlessly weaved their struggles together into a story that everyone will love.

Thanks to Goodreads for sending me a copy of Analisa Daughtry's new novel. I don't think I've ever read a "romance novel" that was not centered on the thrill of first falling in love. This book was special because it focused on being in a marriage for the long hall. It was refreshing to read about Christians who know where to turn when life gets hard. I was priviledged to visit the incredible city of Charleston a few months ago, and I loved getting to go again via this novel. A marriage reconciled This was a sweet story of a wealthy socialite married to the working class man who has tragedy strike several years into the marriage and the heartache tears them apart. Anyone who has been married any length of time can identify with the emotions, misunderstandings, disappointment and angst that this couple goes through. I also appreciate the way the story handled the dangers of an emotional affair. Strong elements of faith. This is one of those books where I'm torn between a 4 or 5 star rating. It started a little slow - or it could have been me I just finished reading a 6 book series and wasn't ready to move on - but picked up around the middle of the book. There were two stories taking place - Luke and Summer and Justin and Ashley. For me, there wasn't enough actual romance to justify a 5 star rating. The story line was good, as was the ending. An epilogue might have been enough to kick it up another star. This is one of those books where I'm torn between a 4 or 5 star rating. Not the type of book I typically read, but it was a delightful book just the same. I really enjoyed the fact that there were multiple points of view, not just 1 or 2, but at least 4 or more. I could really see this as a "Lifetime" or a "Hallmark" type of show-movie. Not the type of book I typically read, but it was a delightful book just the same.
