Dorothy L. Sayers writes very well, with humor and witty banter. Although her plots are not nearly as labyrinth as Agatha Christie's (which may be appealing to many readers, as they seem more plausible), I really enjoy her characters (Lord Peter, Harriet, Bunter) a lot. The amateur detective, the wealthy and conceited Lord Peter Wimsey often works in conjunction with local police and Scotland Yard, and (just as Christie's detectives) has greater success than the police and Scotland Yard. In her Dorothy L. In her first book "Whose Body?", Sayers introduces Lord Peter, as he tries to determine the death of man that appears in a neighbor's house; this man is found there, in a bathtub, completely naked except for wearing a pair of pince-nez. His (Lord Peter's) manservant, Bunter, is also very talented and clever, (and there are some genuine Jeeves and Wooster moments). It is in "Strong Poison" that we are introduced to Harriet, as Peter tries to save her from the gallows. Overall, these books are a great read, and as Lord Peter suggests, it is always wise to think before you speak. For example, do not say even euphemistically, that you are going to kill someone, because "you never know. It'd be beastly awkward if that person died suddenly tomorrow".

Didn't really read this book but I have yet to figure out how to delete a book off the list once I've added it without saying I read it. Didn't really read this book but I have yet to figure out how to delete a book off the list once I've added it without saying I read it.
