How many times have I told you no knife-fights in the house? This book is about Cyan -a truly awesome human woman with a brain downloaded into a semi-human body. She is responsible for saving the cyborg race by helping them escape and was killed for her part in it. Luckily, her daddy didn't download her into a roomba. He had a much better model for her. No, he did better than that. As a matter of fact, he used the model of a sex droid for her body, including some giant knockers. Now, I just have to ask everyone - who the hell's dad decides to download his daughter's brain into a sex-bot? If my dad were to download my brain into a body, it would look more like this: Message: stay away from my daughter! But, at least creepy-dad made her totally kickass, and sarcastic - my favorite of superpowers! "No. Yes. No." He backed away. "Decisive. I like that in a man," she chuckled. The cyborgs don't believe that she is the same girl who saved them because of her new and improved body. So, they assign to total a-hole douche to guard her - Krell. Krell is an idiot. It is so obvious that she is the same girl, plus she keeps doing everything she can to help the cyborgs again and again. But, he refuses to trust her. He started to hand her a fork but paused, glancing at her and then it, and back. Wariness narrowed his eyes. "For real? Seriously?" She held out her hand, palm up. "What do you think? I'm going to try to prong you to death? I don't know who that would be more embarrassing for - you dying by fork or me needing to use something so silly to take you out." That's right, Krell! It's not like it's a spork or something. That, I could understand. Of course they fall in love - very quickly. But, I didn't get what she saw in this guy. He never really stopped being a stupid jerk. I guess love is blind, deaf, and dumb.

Krell & Cyan Emily was a human with special needs who required assistance 24 hours per day. Emily was also the daughter of the scientist who created Cyborgs. She used to adore them and she wanted to stop their torturing. Her best friend and her personal assistant, Mavo, is a Cyborg and she even had a little childish crush on him. Many many many years after Cyborg’s successful escape, Cyan is captured by them. She appears to be a human soldier and she is after a bunch of humanlike androids, called Marcus models. The fleshy androids are very dangerous for humans and anyone that lives and breaths around them. Unfortunately they have managed to escape Earth and death is following them anywhere they land. Cyan used to be Emily. At least a more advance version of her, after her dad work on her almost dead body. Krell is the Cyborg that Mavo saved during the escape. Scarred and lonely avoids everyone except Mavo who is his best friend. It is time for a reunion, but Cyan cannot convince Krell that she is the one that saved them. She does not resemble at all Emily anymore. She is shorter, indestructible, deadly and a true soldier. Krell is another Cyborg who hates humans. Cyan will make him see the light and subsequently Krell will be totally addicted to her. Ah, true love is all around… Cyan/Emily is my favorite kick-ass heroine in the series so far. She totally steals the show and shows Cyborgs a few tricks.

Taunting Krell is book seven in the Cyborg Seduction series by Laurann Dohner. Though she is not the same women she was back then. I really enjoyed her dressing down to the Cyborg Council. She was not happy with how they set up their society and she let them know it. She didn’t give up her life for them to set up the forced family structures and breeding program they have. It was time someone did this. They needed to hear it. Wither it will change things, only time will tell, but it was needed. Krell our hero was brutalized and scared by the humans. He does not care for them. He’s a loner and the Cyborg society doesn’t see him either because of his scares. They see that as an imperfection. He’s not in a good place when Cyan comes along. Yet, Cyan see’s him and he needed that. He need someone to see him. Taunting Krell gives us a few surprises along the way. There’s passion, intrigue, and excitement. The plot was interesting and moved along. I have to say I really liked Cyan; because she was such a strong heroine. As for the cyborg council I don’t care for them and don’t think I ever will. The romance was nice and enjoyable; between Krell and Cyan. The Cyborg Seduction series is a nice sexy escape. Rated: 3.5 Stars

I loved this one! Cyan totally kicked ass! I thought I would have trouble with the premise of the story, but it worked. Krell totally redeemed himself for his shitty behavior in previous books and how he acted in the beginning. I understood his anger and hesitancy. Although I think his distrust went on way too long. Safety Gang (view spoiler)[ I do not many recall specific issues. Yes he is in a breeding pact - but gets out of it. H pushes her away emotionally and is distrustful (hide spoiler)] I loved this one! An enjoyable read, for me the highlight of this book is Cyan - she's a fab character and totally kickass. A strong heroine, Krell as a character isn't bad but feel like he was missing something. The cyborg council is starting to really get on my nerves however, they really need to change things. Overall the plot was interesting and made me keep going. Some parts were good, but the romantic interaction was kind of blah. This was ok, but not as fun as the previous books. The conflict between the couple was weak. Throughout the story, Krell does not trust Cyan. He thinks she is a spy from earth who will send back information to harm his people. Cyan does many things to show she is on Krell’s side, but he continues to have doubts until the end. It was not the best story for me. To add conflict, implants were put into Cyan’s brain that caused extreme pain if she talked about her prior life, who she was, who her father was, etc. This means she couldn’t tell them who she was. Why would her loving father implant things to cause torture to his daughter? That was kind of contrived, but I’ll go with it. The good parts were some cool action scenes with the heroine saving the day. She outsmarts and wins against enemy androids and dangerous creatures, using knowledge, skills, and bravery. The sex scenes were pretty good if you don’t mind Cyan being the initiator. I usually prefer the guy being the initiator and/or being more alpha during sex. Krell doesn’t want to trust her and doesn’t want to have sex with her, but he is turned on against his wishes. Krell was tortured by humans and has scars. He thinks all females are repulsed by him. But Cyan is not. It is hard for Krell to believe she is attracted to him. This is book #7 in the Cyborg Seduction series. These are not full length novels. They are about 2/3 the length. You don’t need to read them in order, but I’d recommend it. My favorites were books 4, 5, and 6: Touching Ice, Stealing Coal, and Redeeming Zorus. I had problems with the first one, Burning Up Flint, gave that 2 ½ stars. DATA: Narrative mode: 3rd person. Kindle count length: 4,125, 240 pages. Swearing language: strong. Sexual language: strong. Number of sex scenes: about 4. Setting: the future mostly on the planet Garden. Copyright: 2011. Genre: erotic science fiction romance.

Love this series and was so glad when this book came out that I bought it the first day. As some of my Goodfriends know, I have this thing for the tortured hero and Krell sure was that. Tortured and about to be killed, he's rescued by his friend when Emily aka Cyan, helps the cyborgs initially escape when she learns they are about to be terminated. She's the disabled daughter of their creator and is shot in the chest when she helps with the escape. She finds out the cyborgs aren't really dead and has to convince them of who she is and that she can be trusted now that she isn't physically the same person anymore. Fantastic story. For awhile I thought Laurann Dohner might do the menage + marriages like Kaitlyn O'Connor, but nope, she's a one man/one woman writer. As soon as the next one comes out, I'm buying it.

** re-read,What can I say Laurann Dohner is a genius, I loved this book the story line was so original and fantastic and the way she excited it was perfect, This may be the best in the series so far, now I'm anxious for book eight. Krell's job is to interrogate and get information any way possible to make sure the Cyborg race is safe, and the claims of who many believe Cyan to be are crazy and he's sure that she is really a spy, When Cyan see's the Cyborgs she is ecstatic that the Cyborgs are safe and still alive but when she see's Krell she can't believe her eye's and she is soon trying to convince him she is who she claims and finds herself falling in love with Krell but Krell has a hard time trusting and he has good reasons to not trust. Then Threat to the entire Cyborg race forces Krell to finally choose if he can trust Cyan and give into his felling for her. If I could get everyone to read this book I would, this is one book that everyone needs to try so they can see the talent that is Laurann Dohner.

Another great story in the Cyborg Seduction series. The series seems to have really hit its stride and shows no sign of letting up. I think the stories are getting stronger. This was my favorite heroine so far. Cyan was a kick butt gal but she was very sensitive and loving along with it. She was physically and emotionally strong. Krell was also a great character. He was scarred and antisocial and was not a desired mate in the Cyborg world as a result. Watching him fall for her and realize she wanted him was sweet. I only wish the story had played out over a longer period of time to really allow their feelings to develop naturally. That would have involved more pages you say? I would have been happy if the book had been twice as long. The writing and plotting of this series is getting better and better. Can’t wait to see whose story is next and where the Markus Models will strike again.

This is one of my favorites from the series, and a big reason is because of the h. Cyan has an interesting backstory and is totally kickass. She’s sarcastic, witty, and bold, all without being abrasive or bitchy. Krell was no slouch either; he has that sexy, scarred, broody thing going on. I also LOVED that Cyan chewed their asses about their messed-up family unit and breeding contracts. “You’ve made it a law to force women to be breeders? What is wrong with you? What is so different about you than them? You think about that long and hard. There’s always a good reason for the shitty things people do. It still doesn’t make it right, does it?” Her shoulders sagged. “Please just leave. I’m having a bad day. I discovered you survived, made total crap out of the freedom you’ve been given, and now once again the body I’ve been put into has another drawback. You wouldn’t try to force your laws on me if I were totally human. I don’t want anything to do with you if this is what you’ve become.” I also loved how she owned her sexuality. That covo on masturbation…no shame. 👏👏 And Krell was a total boss in the bedroom. Bottom Line- By far my favorite h, and one of the best in the series. Krell denied his feelings for quite a while, but I loved the drama.

Imagine what drama that pair would have created since Cyan used to have a crush on his father! I would have SO eaten that story up! Anyways, I will obviously be continuing the series. I am especially excited to get to Deviant’s story after reading this book!

Just as Cyan is leaving to file an official report she encounters unknown soldiers who are of the opinion that SHE was responsible for the deaths of all the inhabits on the space station. To her surprise she finds out they're cyborgs. Beings who were thought to be eradicated many years ago on Earth because they were dangerous, unpredictable, with the ability to kill without provication. Kruell, a cyborg interrogator, is called in to determine if the Earther discovered is a spy. She claims to have a history of being a friend to the cyborgs but has no factual information to back that up. Kruell had been tortured in the mass escape from Earth and has no love for humans or Earth in general but there's something about Cyan that's different. She's definitely hiding something and it's his job to discover what that is. Another installment in the "Cyborg Seduction" series featuring cyborg alpha males and strong willed Earth women. I recently started reading this series because of a group challenge and really didn't have high hopes I'd enjoy it. I have never been a fan of cyborg, machines, or such in the past. Maybe because of the "Terminator" series or such. Cyborgs are evil and emotionless. I guess this goes to show me that with the right author anything is possible if done right. Kruell. What a man .... cyborg. He'd been put through hell and has scars from the past both inside and outside with the result that he's closed himself off because he's been deemed as undesirable by his own kind. Yet, there are those who haven't given up on him including Sky & Zorus and have pulled him in to deal with Cyan. Of course he doesn't want to. Of course he's "persuaded" to. Of course the two have a lust reaction with action packed adult content scenes that knocked my socks off. There was a slant that had me hopeful the relationship would have a BDSM flair but that pretty much was dead in the water as the erotic play was kinky with some D/s but not BDSM. The storyline was very well written. Sci fi intrigures me and I do tend to look for books with this slant in the adult fictional romantic genre but usually don't find too many that live up to my expectations. I was quite thrilled when I discovered this one (and the other installments) did. I do think this one is the best on so far though. The addition of Cyan does add a new element for the author to branch off of for future intstallments so I'm excited to see where this goes.

Cyan is captured by cyborgs and is desperate to prove that she is a friend to them rather than a spy. She is temporarily assigned to Krell in order for him to work out whether she is telling the truth or not. Sexy shenanigans occur, but can Krell ever trust her? Don't expect literary genius. This is essentially the B movie of books: it ain't pretty, it doesn't have all the linguistic bells and whistles but the sex is good and the ass kicking is fun. (view spoiler)[ Main pairing: Krell/Cyan (view spoiler)[(Emily) (hide spoiler)] Favourite character: Villain(s) Androids, humans and "annihilators", oh my! Character rating: 4/10 Plot rating: 3/10 Setting rating: 5/10 Overall rating:4/10 Pros: The ideas behind this series are fascinating, and I really enjoyed branching out from aliens (my normal reading) to cyborgs. The creation of a new homeworld and society was interesting to read when it was mentioned in the plot - although that didn't happen as often as I'd have liked. I'm sure I probably would have appreciated it more if I'd read the other six books before this one, but other than some explanations for the background I don't feel like I lost out by reading this as a standalone. Cons: The language is occasionally clunky; which may be an attempt to demonstrate the alien-ness of the cyborgs but just comes across as awkwardly written. My favourite example is: "You insist on using your extreme sexual appeal to make me lower my defences." The pacing of the plot is awkward, too. Krell doesn't trust Cyan at all, but within 24 hours they're having sex. It didn't feel like there was build up and it didn't feel all that natural either. She knows she is basically under guard by this guy but almost immediately decides to get naked and try and seduce him. The choice to give Cyan the body of a sex robot was... interesting. The fact she is actually a soldier and the body was chosen by her father makes it all the more confusing. Also, do women really need to look like sex bots to be attractive? Really? Admittedly diversity of female appearance in writing is one of the (many) soapboxes I choose to stand on, so it probably doesn't bother most people. But it did bother me. Krell as a character was ok. I quite liked him - which was probably predictable given he is a dominant, intense character - who I did feel compassion and empathy for given his rejection by his own society and the loneliness he clearly felt. But his suspicion about Cyan did last through the whole book and by the end was really getting old. I'd have liked to have seen further character growth from him and watch him settle more comfortably into his skin and his relationship. As for Cyan: I feel like she was a little two dimensional. I can't really tell you what her motivations, core beliefs or thoughts are beyond being pro-cyborg, anti-android and sort of ambivalent towards humans. She likes fighting, she isn't naturally submissive but she enjoys Krell taking charge. But I don't feel like we got a real look into her depth of emotion, and she didn't feel like a complete, well-rounded character. Final opinion: This book is fine if you want some sexy fluff you don't have to think too hard about. And that is a valid genre! So if that's what you're looking for, go for it. Otherwise... it was fine. I just hoped for a little more. (hide spoiler)]

So Cyan is rebuilt human, saved from an incurable disease who was friend to the cyborg from the very beginning and instrumental to their release. She meets scarred cyborg Krell who is shunned for his ugliness. They do a lot of sexy fighting then get it on. Krell can’t trust Cyan and get over his insecurities and Cyan can’t accept the cyborg way of life so they just grapple out their differences. Just my kind if read. A fun, sexy read! It was nice getting the backstory of the Cyborg's past and Cyan's involvement in it, a very interesting story line. A fun, sexy read! It was nice getting the backstory of the Cyborg's past and Cyan's involvement in it, a very interesting story line.

Hmmm, out of the entire series I've read thus far, I liked this one the least. I mean, Redeeming Zorus and Stealing Coal, was a tough act to follow! What's my ish? Cyan! Heck, Cyan was too, well, too efficient! She outpaced, overshadowed, overdid poor Krell. Krell had enough problems. He came off looking less than worthy of her even towards the end, which sucked b/c the poor guy had been through hell already. I liked him from his brief appearance in Redeeming Zorus, so this was a let-down for me. I always enjoy when an author turns the tables where the heroine saves the hero but...this was too much. I admit that I like the vulnerability expressed by the female characters in the 'traditional' literary sense of romantic fiction no matter how hard-assed they are. They were allowed to be women and be capable but Cyan had bigger ones than Krell. Sorry! There I said it. *shrug* For example, Anita Blake kills with cold precision--I mean, she shoots baddies, stakes vamps, raises dead people, yet still has girly insecurities, recites romantic poetry with Jean-Claude and enjoys his romantic gestures of roses! On a closing note, not a lot happens in this story. It's build-up to what is coming next. On another observation, I do like the lady cyborg on the council, Jazel, she's cool! I'm glad she's one of the cyborg women who's down to earth and not a raving bitch like the others. Ah, well, I'm sorry I didn't love this one as much. Ms. Dohner is an amazing writer but this was not one of her stronger releases for this series. After reading this, I want another Mira--childlike, vulnerable, sweet, and yes, a touch needy! A cold tough bastard like Flint who takes what he wants! LOL! Ah, well, I'll need to check out her new series, sounds promising. Whatever my opinion of Taunting Krell, it's irrelevant, as long as the next book kicks butt. I'm sure it will! :-)

Definitely my favorite book so far from Cyborg Seduction series. Plot was interesting and made me keep going with reading this book. What made it even more interesting is whole Emily Pleva flashback story. Cyan/Emily is very strong female character and OH! how I loved her sense of humor. Krell, well I just have special place in my heart for in any way disfigured/disabled character and Krell got me there. This scene* just.. I wanted to punch those two and every cyborg woman on Garden. But in the end Krell and Cyan got their happy ending, and that made me very happy. * Ovis scoffed. “You can’t seriously mean to just allow Krell to touch you. He doesn’t belong to a breeding pact. No female wishes to have him donate his sperm. He’s undesirable since they’d have to touch him. Breeding requires physical contact. Other measures have failed.” “We checked before we arrived and he’s not listed as having been with a female for over sixty months. No female has requested an audience with him to ask for his sperm or to interview him as a potential male to add to her family unit. You should know this before you allow him to engage in physical activity. Leave with us now and spare yourself the boredom of his touch.” Her gaze shifted to Krell. He wasn’t looking at her anymore, instead he was staring at the wall, and she saw something she hated to see on his handsome, scarred features. Humiliation. It pissed her off that Braids and Blondie would dare insult him in his own home.

I liked Krell, but I totally worshipped Emily/Cyan!!! Not only she made me cry at the beginning, sacrificing herself for the lives of the tormented cyborgs, but she also made my day with her sarcastic remarks, her criticism of the cyborg society and her awesome performance as a soldier. I must admit that I´m totally against the typical "damsel in distress who needs to be rescued by her Prince Charming", and totally in favour of strong women, capable of being tough but remain feminine at the same I liked Krell, but I totally worshipped Emily/Cyan!!! I have to agree with her on the "what´s wrong with those idiotic female cyborgs, rejecting him for the scars he displays on his (gorgeous) body? Pfff to them. Well, as a matter of fact, female cyborgs are not shown as the best characters in any of the books, but I guess it´s ok since the whole series is about male cyborgs and humans. Is there a sixth star to give? Well dear Laurann, let me tell you that even though I´m giving you 5 stars here, you may consider it as a total 10 stars rate. P.S: even though Zorus appeared here more sympathetic and abolished the human-slave law in Garden, I still don´t like him.

I can wholeheartedly say that I enjoyed Taunting Krell, which was a pleasant surprise. I’ve read several books by this author now, and I’ve had issues with most of them (with the characterization and plot, not the sexy stuff). With this book, it was the opposite. I actually enjoyed the main characters but found the love scenes to be kind of boring and redundant. I actually wanted a bit more kink. I actually would have liked to know more about Krell, I didn’t feel like the author fully fleshed him out, but I did like that he wasn’t an overly domineering a-hole like some of the other male leads Dohnner has written. He kept kept his dominance for the bedroom, and that’s how it should be, in my opinion. I felt both Cyan (the heroine, formerly known as Emily) and Krell treated each other as equals and as human beings, and that was very refreshing for a change.

4 stars I'd love to review this in detail but the thing is I forgot almost 70% of the story. I was taking a break for awhile from this book because I was busy with Christmas. HEHE So, briefly... What I liked. 1. Cyan, the heroine. 2. Krell, the cyborg. 3. The plot gets better in this series. What I disliked. 1. The ending was too cheesy for my taste. 2. There was action pack but it wasn't enough because I wanted more. ...... I know those Markus models are bad, bad guys. Well, you know... deep down inside of me, I hope one of them is flawed so that thing/person could probably become a love interest to one of the cyborg dudes, maybe? Wishful thinking. Next book is 2014? Can I have it now? Read on your own peril.

Another 5 stars plus; what can I say but Krell, yum. Do not care of his scars, I want one of him. Emily aka Cyan, what a great rendevous or actually "Deja Vu", she saved him before and now he was saving her from the Mels, I have to admit I was getting annoyed of them not trusting her, but I finally understand; they were scared that she might give the Mels all about them, since she did admit that she was an advanced Cyborg. Kudos to the Author, please continue this series. I need to read by Sky, Another 5 stars plus; what can I say but Krell, yum. Do not care of his scars, I want one of him. 3.5/5; 4 stars; B+ Once I've read a certain number of books in a series I lose my perspective and can't be sure if my rating is objective because there is that warm fuzzy feeling you get when you visit old friends. On the other hand, the ratings are all subjective so what am I worried about? I really enjoyed the visit with old friends in this story and thought it was a strong addition to the series. This book had an added interest because it circled back and introduced some of the Cyborg history 3.5/5; 4 stars; B+ Once I've read a certain number of books in a series I lose my perspective and can't be sure if my rating is objective because there is that warm fuzzy feeling you get when you visit old friends.
