3.5 stars, B- Sometimes when I read novellas, I get the feeling that they're just filler to tide the reader over between books. Not so with this one. In this installment of the continuing saga of Tara Holloway, we get a shorter-than-usual but still fully realized adventure. If you like the standard features of this series (smartass heroine - though unlike Stephanie Plum, she can actually shoot, love triangle of sorts, over the top capers), you'll enjoy this tale. If you like the standard features of this series (smartass heroine - though unlike Stephanie Plum, she can actually shoot, love triangle of sorts, over the top capers), you'll enjoy this tale. This time out, Tara is working with the SEC on reviewing an audit involving some fishy stock trading that occurred around a small company that hit it big on their IPO and then started shedding stock shares suspiciously quickly. Adding to the drama, it turns out that not only did Tara's former firm handle the audit, but the head of the audit team was a man notorious for seducing and discarding new hires. As one of his former victims, Tara is none too thrilled to see the guy. While I thought the manner in which Tara took revenge was overly spiteful and nasty, I did enjoy the rest of the story overall. I had drifted away from this series for a bit, but I'm now looking forward to picking up the next book.

A quick and satisfying read. Picking up where the last book left off the tension between Nick and Tara is even hotter than ever. I can't wait for the next installment. I usually save one star ratings for books I DNF. This one is an exception to the standard. Ridiculous without being funny or fun.

"Death, Taxes, and a Sequined Clutch" is Diane Kelly's latest installment to her Tara Holloway series, just enough of a story to hold us over until her releases next year! Tara is given a brief reprieve from dodging her hottie co-worker Nick when she's given an assignment with the SEC to take down a set of twins suspected of insider trading. The only hitch in the assignment is that she's having to start her newest investigation at her old accounting firm... I usually can't stand novellas because of their lack of detail in character & plot development, but I definitely loved this one! Diane Kelly did a great job of developing the new antagonist in Tara's life, her one night stand & co-worker at her former firm. I don't have a single complaint - this was a great read! and quick!

Tara is as feisty as ever in this novella, as she dishes out her own version of justice to an old flame - who needs to get a clue (and a decent pair of shorts!). The sexual tension between her and Nick is as sweet as ever, and like Momma Holloway, that boys gives me super hot, hot flashes!!! I love that trigger-happy Tara can’t go a month without filling out a “weapons discharge” form…hahaha! Poor Lobo! It’s craziness as always for my favorite IRS special agent, but I can’t wait for her to be pa Tara is as feisty as ever in this novella, as she dishes out her own version of justice to an old flame - who needs to get a clue (and a decent pair of shorts!). I laughed my assets off for this little novel. So many little jabs at one person was about to be to much. But you know what, it could have been another 100 pages more and I would have loved each and everyone. In everyones life comes an ASSociate like him and he deserved so much more than Tara gave him. As always Diane, thank you.

A fun, fast mini-adventure with Tara and the IRS gang. Lots of angst in this story about which man should be in her life - I'm hoping D, T & Peach Sangria won't be as angst filled. A quick mystery concerning identical twins in trouble with the SEC. If you're a fan of the series, you'll get a kick out of this e book special. A fun, fast mini-adventure with Tara and the IRS gang. another series I love...probably because it is set in downtown Dallas (where I work) so I'm familiar with many of the streets and such that are mentioned. I also like that Tara is an IRS agent kicking butt and taking names....and hopefully not shooting anyone (because that is too much paperwork). Another great Tara Holloway story. I laughed and enjoyed the short story, every bit as much as much as the full length books of Diane's. Another great Tara Holloway story. I laughed and enjoyed the short story, every bit as much as much as the full length books of Diane's.
