★★★★1/2! Knight & Play, book 1 of 2. The whirlwind romance of Lucien, an enigmatic & debauched playboy & Sophie, the neglected wife of a two-timing husband. “Her feisty interludes turned him on, and he wanted to push her into situations that encouraged the tigress in her to come out more often. The girl shimmered with untapped sexual potential. Her dick of a husband obviously wasn’t able to see what he could see…” Books in Knight Series should be read in order: Book ★★★★1/2! Her dick of a husband obviously wasn’t able to see what he could see…” Books in Knight Series should be read in order: Book 1: Knight & Play (Lucien & Sophie) Book 2: Knight & Stay (Lucien & Sophie) Book 3: Knight & Day (Dylan & Kara) Sophie and Dan Black had been an item since she was seventeen, married when she was twenty-one and then they had settled into a comfortable and complacent married life, with Sophie working as personal assistant and Dan climbing up the corporate ladder. In the last few years leading up to the opening of the book they had grown distant with Dan taking extensive business trips and showing less and less interest in an intimate relationship with Sophie: Enter Lucien Knight, the tortured, broken boy who grew to be a non-committal, alpha playboy with secrets; Founder and CEO of Knight Inc., a sex club and sex toy empire. Debauchery was his middle name and women rarely warmed his bed for more than a night, if even that. Sophie arrives for her interview for the position of his personal assistant: “Come in, Ms. Black. I won’t bite.” She walked across the room. “… unless you want me to?” he murmured as an afterthought…” They have a connection, but they are so different, worlds apart. Lucien tries to dismiss her, but Sophie fights back and surprises him enough for him to offer her the job. He also has the gnawing suspicion that her marriage is in trouble and so he decides to do some checking. Just as he suspected Sophie’s husband is on vacation with his long-time mistress and co-worker. Lucien sets out to help Sophie by seducing her to show her how desirable she is and teaching her husband a lesson: “Don’t lie to yourself because you feel guilty, Sophie. He’s cheating, and you deserve better. You deserve to be adored, and you deserve to be fucked until you can’t stand up.” Sophie stared at him and her insides twisted with desire.” And so a whirlwind week-long romance begins sweeping us across the Atlantic to the Alps of Norway, Lucien’s homeland. But nothing really goes as planned, for starters their first time together: “He hadn’t intended this to happen in quite such a vanilla way, but one look at Sophie’s vulnerable face and his hunter-protector gene had kicked in hard.” For Sophie it is a sexual exploration and very much an awakening of the sexual woman she truly is: “Sex with Lucien was a cross between the most sweeping romantic movie and the filthiest porn flick; he was feather gentle and filthy erotic all at the same time.” Their affair is all-consuming, but Sophie is still married and Lucien, well his heart is closed off: “He was the most enigmatic man she'd ever met. On the one hand he was a Thor-like sex warrior, perfectly at home slinking around the debaucherous outposts of his commercial empire, and on the other hand he was a man who craved his solitude and privacy and loved this rare and extra-ordinary setting.” Book 1 ends with a cliff-hanger, but no worries, just open up and read book 2, Knight & Stay , the conclusion of Lucien’s and Sophie’s story. *** Hero rating: 5 stars Heroine rating: 3 stars Sex scenes rating: 4.5 stars Sex scenes frequency: 4.5 stars Storyline concept rating: 4.5 stars Storytelling skills rating: 4.5 stars Story ending rating: N/A Book editing rating (5 = no edits spotted): 4.5 stars ************************************************ Overall rating: 4.5 stars Would I recommend this series: Yes. LUCIEN....... This book was so incredibly sexy and I loved every single page of it! Sophie is married to her first love but she suspects the douche is having and affair.. and she's right. They've been in a dull lull for the past year and a half and the dickhead barely touches her. She hates her job and feels lonely and unexcited. She needs a change. Step 1--new job-- at Knight Enterprises. With sexy woman eater Lucien. And I mean woman eater in every way possible. EVERY WAY. She's going to be LUCIEN....... EVERY WAY. She's going to be his personal assistant and he's going to be her wake up call. While her husband is away on "business" for 10 days, she decides to give herself to Lucien in every way possible. She longs to feel sexy and wanted again. She wants orgasms!! and lots of them!! She wants to feel desired... Lucien does all of those things for her. He's all about making sure she is pleasured in every way possible. He overwhelms her inside and out. Lucien doesn't believe in LOVE.. he believes in to body's finding pleasure in each other and nothing more. He thinks marriage and monogamy is a joke. He's emotionally detached and doesn't let anyone in. He's able to play Sophie's body like a piano but he won't give anyone his heart. Sophie's not looking for that right now though either. She just wants to feel alive again. I loved their 10 days together and how Lucien showed Sophie exactly what she was missing. However, towards the end, it seems Lucien is starting to see he may be missing something too. Sophie is digging her way inside him, however unintentional it is. But first, she has to deal with her cheating husband and get her life back before she can make any decisions about her future. Sooo soooo glad I waited until book 2 was out before I read this one so now I can dive right into Knight & Stay. This was a highly sensual, erotic, sexy story and I recommend this to anyone that likes some serious sexy times that don't skimp on details. I LIKE DETAILS and Kitty French definitely delivers!! p.s. sorry to use your lover in my gifs Vika...but a girl must do what a girl must do :))))

4 STARS. "You deserve to be adored, and you deserve to be fucked until you can't stand up." Sophie Black is a thirty something unhappily married woman, looking for a new job. One that will challenge her and help her out of the slumber that has become her life. And the Norwegian sex god Lucien Knight, happens to be in searching for a new PA. "He made her think of a Viking warrior, and right now she felt like a damnsel in serious distress." After Lucien hides her, they embark to 4 STARS. "He made her think of a Viking warrior, and right now she felt like a damnsel in serious distress." After Lucien hides her, they embark together on a passionate journey that leads them from Lucien's sinfully sexy "adult" clubs in Londen to his equally alluring homecountry Norway. Lucien is determined to show Sophie she deserves someone who meets her feel wanted and adored and he's determined tp open her eyes to a whole new world full of exictement and pleasure. P...she shuddered. R...she arched. I...she moaned. N...she gasped his name. C..."Lucien"... E...she came. S...she came. S...and she came. Lucien has a dark past of his own that has always prevented him from opening himself up to love and true feelings. As their affair starts to become more intense, both of them realize their connection runs much deeper than either of them ever expected. But Sophie's cheating husband and Lucien's hessitancy towards showing his feelings, make it all the more difficult for them to be together... "Stay because I want you to, Sophie. Stay because I can make you feel better than anyone else ever has." Overall, Knight & Play was a perfect relaxing, smutty read filled with humor and witty conversations. I loved the author's easyflowing writing style and the original concept of the story and it's "hero" and I'm already looking forward to starting the next book soon!

It didn't work for me. My two stars are only for the sex, which was hot, but everything else was not. Where do I start? I don't mind them having an affair, but what I do mind is her dropping her panties after knowing him only for two days. There were so meny wrongs with this story. I liked Lucian, because he never claimed to be anything other than himself and she knew it. And he stayed true to him self til the very end. I just couldn't understand why she got all pissy after a while. She knew what It didn't work for me. My two stars are only for the sex, which was hot, but everything else was not. Where do I start? I liked Lucian, because he never claimed to be anything other than himself and she knew it. And he stayed true to him self til the very end. I just couldn't understand why she got all pissy after a while. She knew what she was getting herself into. He never promised her anything more than a good time. What annoyed me the most was her talking about value of marriage and how wrong cheating is and yet, she screwed him after knowing him less than 48 hours. She went from being vanilla trough and trough to a slut in a nano second. I would hold my mouth shut if she wasn't merried. Then, I would have said "Go for it honey." I didn't buy that she felt conflicted before going for it. She used only one day to think about it. That's what ruined the story for me. I would have liked for her to put more thought in it, before jumping into it. On a second day they went to one of his clubs, she freaked out a little. Did she knew anything at all about the job she aplied for? He told her "Don't worry, it's only work, no play." What work exactly were you suppose to be doing there, Lucian? She ended up orgasming in every corner of the club. Then, he asks her to stay with him for a week, waving his dildos and threatening her with mind blowing orgasms. He said "Don't do it to get back at him. Do it for your self." Do you see what's wrong with this picture? And what does that even mean in this case? If he would have said that to someone who was unattached I would have said have at it. I don't blame him though, he looked like a dude who's moral compass was in some serious need of repair. Then, they traveled to Norway, where their sexcapade continued. First of all, when she asks "Where are we going?", you don't say "Arctic Circle.". It would be the same as going to a travel agency and when a travel agent asks you "Where to?" you say "Arctic Circle.". I don't think the poor thing knew where she was all that time while they were there, because he never explained to her properly. It's Tromsø, you idiot. Are you even Norwegian? Then, they go to the woods, where he ties her to a tree. I thought it was comical. You don't go to the woods in that area without a proper shotgun, otherwise you gonna be a meal to a polar bear. I wondered what would he have done if one would have showed up, while she was tied to a tree. Would he have started waving with his dildo and threatening the bear with mind blowing orgasm, too? On the way back to London, she gets all pissy about him showing her pictures of her cheating husband with his mistress. I would have said thank you, but she started to call him a dick with no moral ground (it's not exact words, but that's what I got from it), she accused him of using her only for sex. The way she said it made it sound like she was hurt. But what did you expected? Lets get back to the beginning, when you accepted his proposal, shall we? The ending was a bit rediculous. She comes home and finds a box with sextoys and thinks it's a very romantic gesture. She also finds a jewelry box with an arm bracelet in it, that belonged to his mother, and melts. Ew! Gross! I know that the sextoys were the ones that they have used and that it was meant to be a sentimental gift, but for me, it looked like he was giving his mothers sextoys to her (double ew!). Those gifts should not have been given on the same day, and especially as a one present. All and all, nothing new, that haven't been written before. Okay-ish sex and not much of a story in between. Overall, disappointing.

You deserve to be adored, and you deserve to be fucked until you can’t stand up.” HOLY SMUTTTTTTTTT!!!! lol. I mean really. This is the kind of read where you just stop thinking and just go with it ;) It was an absolutely random spur-of-the-moment buddy read I did last night. It had been sitting on my to-read list for a while because it had a lot of ‘key’ themes in the blurb that caught my attention – namely the damaged, hot and kinky billionaire whose name had me drooling… Lucien Knight. C’mon, admit it. That’s a hot name! Overall I’d say it was short, smutty, and HOT . By smutty and hot, I mean that they were pretty much having sex almost non-stop from approximately the 20 – 85% mark. See? I wasn’t kidding! The story isn’t too deep though. There’s almost no plot, or even romance really, but it sure is HOT and honestly, for a book that only took me about 2 hours to read, I’m not really complaining. However, I will say that I didn’t connect with any of the characters though – I think its because this kind of isn’t a fall-in-love-style romance per say. The heroine is married (albeit to a lying, cheating husband) and the hero is her new billionaire, adult club owning, dominant boss who pretty much has never been in love, doesn’t believe in love, is up front about his intentions and just offers her a bit of an “escape” for a week. “My husband is having an affair, Lucien … And here’s the thing. Right at the moment, he’s God knows where with God knows who until next weekend, and I don’t think I even care.” … “He’s a fucking fool” Sophie shrugged and looked out of the window. “Maybe. He’s avoided having sex with me for more than six months now.” “I’ll say it again. He’s a fucking fool.” “Yes.” … “Would it help if we fucked?” LOL – see, I thought he was kind of joking. But nooooo, he was dead serious. And she accepted! So, this was basically the point where I just accepted that this was going to be just a fun SMUTSMUTSMUTSMUTSMUT read and I just basically completely stopped judging it and just went with the story – over-the-top moments, squinty-eyed moments and all. I guess the reason I didn’t connect as strongly to the characters though had nothing to do with the smut or anything, it was that the main couple didn’t actually fully fall in love over the course of the book and as such, since THEY didn’t fully connect on an emotional level, I in turn had a harder time connecting to them… I mean, it really was all about and ONLY about the sex. But… *holds up one finger* I think that’s something that, give the ending, will likely be explored more in the second book because there was a bit of a touching moment near the end which gave me hope for that. But really, plot or no plot, the sex was H.O.T. The ending was a complete cliffhanger that left the story open to go in a number of directions, but personally I found that because I wasn’t strongly attached to the characters, it wasn’t remotely painful. Yes, I’ll read the next one because I’m curious to see where this all will go, but it didn’t leave me biting my nails or throwing my kindle. If you are looking for a hot SMUTSMUTSMUTSMUTSMUTSMUT read… this is it!! *winks* … just don’t go into it expecting anything too deep… err… you know what I mean…ok, I’ll just be quiet now. I give it 2 stars for plot and character development, and 4 stars for smut, which rounds it all off to 3 stars.

4.5 stars !!! “You see?” He gestured to their bodies with his hands. “Man.” He touched his fingers to his chest and raised his eyebrows. “Woman.” He brushed his fingertips over the base of her throat. “Sex is natural.” He trailed one finger down the valley between her breasts to her navel, making her stomach muscles jitter in response. “And fucking beautiful.” His clear blue eyes held hers. “Now, forget everything else,” he said, “And Get. On. That. Bed.” Pheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeewww 4.5 stars !!! On. That. Bed.” Pheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww ..... Is it hot in here or what ????!!!! Unexpectedly good ! That's how I'm going to describe this book . Lucien Knight is the founder of Knight Inc. , an adult entertainment company . Currently on the lookout for a new PA , he stumbles on a CV/resume sealed with a kiss ... literally . Sophie Black wants to get out of her current boring job as a PA at a construction company , so she mails her CV/resume to Knight Inc. sealing it with a kiss ... Lucien and Sophie meet , fireworks explode and lots of interesting thing happens ! Sounds similar , right ?? Lucien despises husbands who cheat on their wives ... Sophie Black is dealing with a cheating husband . Their paths collide and Lucien asks Sophie to give him one week of her life . His timing could'nt have been perfect .. Sophie's husband Dan is on a business trip coughs coughs * vacationing with his new mistress * coughs coughs . Sophie agrees to Lucien's proposition , telling herself that she is doing this to get back on her cheating husband . Ummm Sophie .... So anyway , Sophie says yes to Lucien and thus begins the game of Lucien's seduction . From the bustling life of London To the soul warming and exquisitely compelling Norway Sophie will learn that life is much bigger and better and that she really doesnt know a lot about herself . Lucien will awaken desires long subdued , feelings long forgotten within her . But what will happen when she returns back to her dull and boring life . Will she finally take a stand and speak up . Or will she blame herself for her cheat of a husbands wandering ways . Well , you'll have to find that out on your own . Lucien is just yumtastic !!! He is a perfect mix of naughty and sophistication ! He has money so he flaunts it . He loves sex , so gets it any way he wants . Not that he is a two timing jerk or a playboy or anything . His policy is simple - you don't make commitments , you cant break them . There is no need to be bound to someone by ritual or societal norms . You make your own rules and live your own life . No 'forever' kinda love bullshit . The man does not believe in complications - atleast in the 'love' department . You don't fall in love , you don't get your heart broken .. SIMPLE AS FUCK ! But all this comes from somewhere , a part of his childhood . That childhood that has made him who he is . That is until Sophie Black walks into his life . Sophie ... Well , I really felt bad for her . Being cheated on feels like shit . Its the worst feeling ever . I loved the fact that she accepted Lucien's offer . Believe me when I say this , I hate cheating girlfriends and boyfriends , but when it comes to TIT FOR TAT I'm all game baby !!! The sex is this book is unbelievably hot !!!! Glass dildos dipped and cooled down in a bucket full of ice , butt plugs and blindfolds and whatnots !!! Sex with Lucien was... immersion. She felt saturated in him, drenched to the skin with lust whenever he touched her. Sophie wanted it and Lucien gave it to her ! No questions asked !!!! The ending ! Holy cow its a cliff hanger ! The book ends at a very crucial moment , hopefully its a moment of truth ! I cant wait to read what happens next !!!

4 stars! I spent the last few days listening to the audio book of Knight & Play, I just finished and immediately bought the audiobook of the second! I’m not going to lie… when I first started reading and found our our heroine was married, I wasn’t sure how much I was going to love it. But the more I read, the more I enjoyed it. Lucien was really fantastic. And it turns out that I liked Sophie a lot too. Lucien is a young, rich and successful bachelor. And Sophie is his new assistant. Lucien d 4 stars! He owns a sex toy company along with various clubs. He opens Sophie up to a whole new world. There is a lot of sex, it’s a very sexual book- but there is more to it that that. Lucien might not admit any feelings he has for Sophie, but you can tell they’re there. And I loved how he called her Princess and showed her that she had so much more worth and deserved more than her bastard of a husband gave her. "It's a game." "A game?" He nodded. "You'll like it." He lifted her hair so it fell behind her shoulders and kissed her exposed neck. "It's called 'Let's show Sophie how fucking beautiful she is’.”
Overall, this was a little sweet and a lot of sexy. A great erotica romance. As I said before, after reading the ending- I have to immediately jump into book 2 to see what happens!

Did I think the author put this all in one story well? YES, I was fully immersed in the storyline and found myself torn between the reconciliation of a lost marriage and the pull of a mysterious man who is so swoon worthy I was completely sold. Lucian, the hero of this story is without doubt, the epitome of sexiness wrapped up in a suit. As said previously his charm and seduction is both sexy and unbelievably sweet. I would have liked to have got to know this character more. I'm wondering if the author kept him consciously mysterious? with that said I'm hoping for more to come with book two. Sophie completely won me over, utterly loveable and Likeable dialogue. From the start I fell for her charming and sweet personality in equal measure. I really felt her pain joy and love. The story is obviously focused on Sophie our shy, betrayed character. A woman who is in a failing marriage and this story showcases her insecurities, development and pain without it being to heavy. ❤❤“Some time just after one and somewhere in between awake and asleep, Sophie moved beneath him again. Tangled limbs. Entwined fingers. Damp cheeks. Bruised hearts." ❤❤“You deserve better. You deserve to be adored.” ❤❤"Long buried emotions forced their way to the surface as he curled around her and spooned her body into his. Comfort sweeter than he'd ever found from a woman's touch." This is a short read and I was pleasantly surprised at how enchanted I was, i'm glad I waited for book #2 to make an appearance, the cliffhanger is let's say ... Torment, so with that thought in mind off to book two. If your looking for a short, sexy read, with an equally appealing hero then dive right in, Happy reading ... 4 LUCIEN STARS. ❤ *A word of warning if you don't like to read about infidelity then have a think before you pick this up.*

The story- Lucien Knight is the owner of a sex toy company. He also owns several sex clubs and has retail stores selling his product. He's in need of a new PA. When a resume lands on his desk sealed with a kiss, he's intrigued. The sender- Sophie. She's bored with her current job and wants something new. She's married but her husband pays little attention to her. In fact, he's just leaving for a ten day business trip. Good day to start a new job. Things happen to bring to light her husband is NOT on business and he is, in fact, on holiday with a lover. Lucien also knows this as he's hired someone to investigate him. Sophie just seemed really "off" when discussing her marriage. He's got pictures to prove it. He's drawn to her and wants her to feel beautiful. To feel cherished and not thrown away like a piece of trash her husband is through with. So he offers her a week of passion, of every sexual experience she's dreamed of. When the week is up, she hopefully will feel confident and armed to kick her asshat of a husband to the curb. Here's to you fucknut Dan- "My husband is having an affair, Lucien … And here’s the thing. Right at the moment, he’s God knows where with God knows who until next weekend, and I don’t think I even care.” … “He’s a fucking fool” Sophie shrugged and looked out of the window. “Maybe. He’s avoided having sex with me for more than six months now.” “I’ll say it again. He’s a fucking fool.” “Yes.” … “Would it help if we fucked?” [image error] The sex in this book is HOT. I can see why reviews are mixed. The book is in third person. I'm finding that's my least favorite style but that's here nor there. The reason for mixed reviews, my guess, is that there isn't a lot of drama or angst and it's largely smut. There isn't a huge storyline either....but enough to keep you enthralled. You don't get a huge character development of either Lucian or Sophie early on. I wanted more details about Lucien. It does build later in the story. Lucien has a lot of emotional baggage related to adultery as his father was also a cheat. He never wants a woman to feel the hurt his mother felt. The chemistry is off the hook. Lucien can go from sweet and romantic to raunchy porn star from scene to scene. [image error] One of my favorite scenes- while teasingly licking her- "P...she shuddered R...she arched I...she moaned N...she gasped his name C..."Lucien" E...she came S...and came S...and she came" Obviously this book is riddled with adultery on both sides. If that's not your comfort level, I'd pass. It's very tit for tat. When their week is up, Sophie has to step into her house and confront Dan. Lucien just hopes he's armed her with the confidence to do so. The ending. Oh my....this can't end well. Diving into Knight and Stay!

LUCIEN KNIGHT: Lucien Knight is everything I've come to expect in a scorching hot alpha-male billionaire who runs a successful corporation which specializes in sex. SOPHIE BLACK: Sophie Black's sexual and emotional journey was funny, angsty, and steamy. Admittedly, she is not may favorite person; hard to take the moral high-ground when you decide to cheat on your cheating husband... There is a serious rift among reviewers of this book... Some readers absolutely loved it. Others bashed the crap out of it. To the haters: allow me to address some of your main points with the following explanation... YOU KNEW WHAT YOU WERE GETTING INTO. 1. You knew it was mostly sex 2. You knew he was an Alpha-Male Billionaire Type 3. You knew there was cheating ...Those three complaints are the main soap-box for detractors of this book, but Kitty French clearly warned readers of this right in her synopsis of the book. Question: Did you also read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies then complain in your review because you don't like zombies? Better Question: Did you read this book knowing that you probably wouldn't be comfortable with what was going to happen, then gleefully hate on this? My Confession Time... I was contacted by the author (Kitty French) the day after the third book in this series, Knight & Day went live here in the States. Based on my reading habits she asked if I would like a review copy of her new book. I asked around, saw that the series was rated highly among my book friends and agreed. I borrowed copies of the first two books from Wendy (Wm AddictedReader&LovingTeamO)... It took me half a chapter to realize that I knew this book. When it was originally published I saw it on the "best sellers" charts on iBooks, read the synopsis, and passed it over. Then promptly forgot about it. Why did I pass it over? Infidelity. The subject acts as a red-flag for a probable bias against the entire book because I don't like the subject matter. I am a professional reader of Erotica. I've read every kind of sex there is, from hard core to the softest vanilla and every sweaty, kinky moment in between. So when I say that a subject is "red-flag" I'm being quite literal... I have a list (albeit a short one) of Erotica I will not read for work because it is not the author's fault that I don't dig cheating stories. An author doesn't deserve to have their book panned because the reader bit off more than they could chew. Kitty French states right in her synopsis that this is a book about cheating... So I took myself out of the line of fire. If I can read vampires, aliens, zombies, and billionaires who can be healed with the power of love... I can sure as hell plant myself firmly in the land of this is fiction . And get over my hang-ups. I will continue the series. I will probably remain reticent to read adultery romance in the future. I appreciate this book for what it is. Kitty French did a great job with this book. Credit where credit is due. Some of my Favorite Moments: (view spoiler)[ "How the hell am I going to spin the sex industry into your experience with a building company?" "I have no clue" … "You could say I'm experienced with erections." "I'm not taking this job because of what's going on with me and Dan. I'm taking it because for a while back there today I glimpsed a different version of myself, and I liked her better." "Would it help if we fucked?" Lucien was dangerous enough when he was being his usual cocky self, but like this? Perceptive and raw? He was lethal. "You deserve to be adored, and you deserve to be fucked until you can't stand up." "I see a woman with the face of an angel." He ran the back of his fingers down her cheek. "A face that makes men want to fuck her just to see how she looks when she comes." He only had to touch her and it was as if he'd flicked the 'seduce me now' switch in her head. "You're wasted on the occasional bout of missionary sex with a disinterested man." The girl was eighty percent kitten and twenty percent lioness, and he considered it his mission to make her roar. Had someone plucked her out of her own life and dropped her into a fantasy? She was naked in a sex club watching a Viking warrior suck on a cherry. This was not her average Tuesday evening. They moved in frenzied primal unison. Animal. Feral. Sensational. He screwed the glass dildo as deep as it would go inside her and traced letters on her clitoris with the tip of his tongue. P… she shuddered R… she arched I… she moaned N… she gasped his name C… "Lucien…" E… she came S… and came S… and she came He was hands down the most charismatic, fabulous man she'd ever met, the stuff of every woman's daydreams, but life with him in it rather felt like having her foot jammed on the accelerator. He left her breathless and giddy, and he did things to her body that she didn't even know could be done. She barely knew him, yet he seemed to know her inside out. Sex with Lucien was a cross between the most sweeping romantic movie and the filthiest porn flick; he was feather gentle and filthy erotic all at the same time. (hide spoiler)]

Lucien was CEO of many Clubs and of an Adult Sex Toy company so this was something completely different for Sophie. Let's just say it wasn't your typical sort of THAT type of book … you know the one I mean. Liked the flow of the book, the sex scenes were hot. Loved that he whisked her away to a country that is rarely mentioned in books, well, not the ones I've read. Just glad that I have Book 2 to dive into as soon as I finished this one as I did not want to hang around to meet up with the delicious Mr Knight again … A butterfly from her chrysalis, she'd emerged even brighter and more spellbinding that he'd imagined. She'd used her body to pleasure him, and in her arms he'd found far more than physical release. The world had seemed a pretty bleak place standing in the cold graveyard that afternoon, but right now, anchored inside Sophie's naked body with the warmth of the fire on their skin, it seemed pretty damn close to perfect. Some time just after one and somewhere in between awake and asleep, Sophie moved beneath him again. Tangled limbs. Entwined fingers. Damp cheeks. Bruised hearts.

"He'd shown her how sex was supposed to be, and there was no going back..." Errmahgerd!!!!!!!!! I love you guys, I really do! I love how you know my tastes so well sometimes. My wonderful Pher recommended this to me recently...and I ho-hummed about it. Pretty cover, but really? Another hot and sexy millionaire? And the my lovely friend Wm recommended Knight & Stay, and I caved. So glad I caved!!!!!!!!!! MY SYNOPSIS: Sophie is pretending to be an ostrich. Why would she do that, you say? Well, "He'd shown her how sex was supposed to be, and there was no going back..." Errmahgerd!!!!!!!!! Well, Sophie's husband has been going on extended business trips, having many, many late night work nights, getting numerous secretive calls and texts...and...oh, yeah...hasn't slept with his wife in six months. So yeah, Sophie has her head in the sand. She knows what's going on but just won't admit to herself that her high school sweetheart is cheating on her. So instead of the inevitable confrontation, Sophie decides that she needs to amp up her boring life, starting with her crap job. "Sophie knew better than to let herself think about it too deeply, because then there would be questions that needed answers. Up until now, she hadn't wanted to ask them, even though they were there in huge black capital letters. The gulf between them had slowly widened into an ocean awash with the flotsam and jetsam of a neglected relationship; countless cold shoulders instead of enveloping hugs. Too many dry pecks on the cheek rather than passionate clinches on the dining table. Too many hurriedly hidden text messages. The circumstantial evidence all pointed towards another woman, and Sophie's sexual confidence had ebbed away in the face of Dan's undeniable rebuttals in bed. She'd been feeling old, and cold. Until now. Until she'd stepped into Lucien Knight's force field yesterday evening. Lucien Knight's initial thoughts on Sophie are that she's a hot piece, very qualified for the job as his personal assistant, but also way too innocent and naive to take on the job as the PA of a wildly popular sex club/toy shop owner. When Sophie shocks him during their interview with her reluctant show of bravado, Lucien checks into her life...and finds out about her husband's infidelity. Instantly...... All bets are off. Lucien feels no guilt going after a woman who's husband treats her wrong and won't see what a gorgeous, sexy vixen he has. MY THOUGHTS: What thoughts? Holy crap, was this book sexy as hell! I was told to prepare for some smut, and they were right!!! It's got some really awesome smut. And I was actually really satisfied with the way that things were initially starting out. Then the emotions started eeking into Sophie and Lucien's story, and it became so much more! This was ultra quotable, so I'm just going to add a bunch of my favorites here, a la Sharon style... ~~ "Don't lie to yourself because you feel guilty, Sophie. He's cheating, and you deserve better. You deserve to be adored, and you deserve to be fucked until you can't stand up...." ~~ "It wasn't lovemaking. It was pure fucking." ~~ "Sex with Lucien was a cross between the most sweeping romantic movie an the filthiest porn flick; he was feather gentle and filthy erotic all a the same time..." ~~ "I figured I could screw you happy, I guess." To be honest, this book was a lot more romantic than I expected it to be. Lucien, the ever present bad boy with a past...is, throughout nearly the entire book, a really nice guy...completely and utterly devoted to worshiping Sophie, proving to her how desirable and attractive she is, and showing her what she should not only expect from her husband, but demand. ~~ "Why have you tied me to a tree?" She demanded. He plucked the woolen hat from her head and unzipped her jacket. "It's a game." "A game?" He nodded. "You'll like it." He lifted her hair so it fell behind her shoulders and kissed her exposed neck. "It's called Let's show Sophie how fucking beautiful she is..."

Yucky, eye rolling smutty sex; described with shitty cliched similes and adjectives. I had to skim these scenes, it was tragic, not erotic at all. The constant pussy play she endures makes me wince. Honestly, if I could, I would send this chick (can't remember her name) a care package, here ya go honey... ...apply hourly! I'm done with these billionaire bullies! There is no substance to them or appeal other than their looks. This one looks like a Viking by the way. Where is the romance, where is the sensuality and tenderness? Why does it all have to be about dominance and control? I don't really care that he looks like a Viking because he's just another secretive arsehole with issues. I tell you what? Give me a kinky billionaire hero that looks like this ...make me fall in love with him and then I'll be bloody impressed. Then only then, can you turn him back into a gorgeous guy for the masses to swoon over.

I'm not going to blog my review but I feel I owe it to my friends and followers to explain why it didn't work for me. Remember, these are just my opinions and, if you want to read it, you should go ahead and read it. Our heroine is Sophie who believes her husband, Dan, is having an affair and applies to work for Lucien Knight as his PA. Lucien is the CEO of a company that sells sex toys, equipment and owns several BDSM themed clubs. Sophie is very vanilla, bashful and timid. Really not his sort of girl. He embarrasses her several times during her interview but recruits her anyway because she plucks up the courage to say a few 'dirty' words and surprises him. He investigates both her and her husband and knows that he is actually having an affair. So Sophie suspects and Lucien knows and he decides to give her a week of an intense sexual affair to give her the weapons she needs to deal with her cheating husband. The affair is very hot and very erotic but, sadly, this just didn't click for me at all. Mostly, I felt absolutely no emotional connection between Lucien & Sophie, especially from his side. I didn't understand his attraction to her - he's very kinky, she's very vanilla. He thinks he's doing her a favour by opening her eyes in how sex can really be and thinks this will help her with her cheating husband. Didn't really get that. Also, cheating is a bit of an issue. I can sometimes go with it in a novel and certainly Dan is a rat and deserves to have his arse handed to him on a plate but does this truly justify Sophie's actions? As she embarks on her affair, she suspects not knows that Dan is cheating. I was a bit iffy with this but prepared to go with it. Also, Lucien is an incredibly isolated figure. As the CEO of a big corporation, he didn't interact with anyone other than Sophie during the novel and that felt a little lacking. I guess it did provide a fairly insular feeling to the novel that allowed us to focus on the sex scenes but even those lacked a little for me. They were very descriptive but I never felt convinced by them. Lucien is 100% focused on Sophie's pleasure and never gives much thought to his own and even Sophie's emotional attraction was hard to see. The sex scenes often appeared to lack 'completion' I felt they ended before they should have. For me, these erotic romance trilogies are all about the deep emotional connection between the two main protagonists and the intensity is what I love. All this was absent in this novel for me and that's why it fell a little flat and I am so very sorry to write a negative review. I know how much of their soul an author puts into their books and I always want to love them and I'm disappointed not to feel that way about this book. The sex is very hot and there's a doozy of a cliffhanger which may yet still have me picking up the second book. 2.5 really rather regretful stars

I think I have "minority" tattooed on my forehead... People really seem to like this one, but to me Knight & Play was a whole lot of kinky sex and not much else. A whole lot of kinky sex. Okay...so what's the problem?? No seriously...what's the problem? The problem is, I just didn't care. Nothing really made me invest anything into the story. Too much lust and not enough emotion. Also, the alternating point of views lacked the fluency I've seen in other books. Structurally it was well-written, but I think I have "minority" tattooed on my forehead... That being said, those who love quick lustful reads that get down and dirty...by all means, pick this one up. In fact, I may even read the sequel just because I'm more than a little curious of what's gonna happen next. READ ON!

She takes a chance and applies for a job, a job that would liven up her life hopefully giving her back the pieces of herself she lost along the way. “Do you know why I called you in for interview?” he asked, eventually. Sophie stalled. “My CV?” He nodded. “You sealed it with a kiss. I wanted to see the lips that made that mark.” Lucien Knight is everything her husband is not, he sees the pain behind her eyes when she speaks of her relationship, or lack thereof, with her husband. His assumptions are right in regards to her lying cheating husband and he uses it to his advantage when dealing with Sophie, trying to get her to break out of her Stepford Wives role and into the woman he knows is hiding inside. The girl was eighty percent kitten and twenty percent lioness, and he considered it his mission to make her roar. One week, that is all he is asking, one week to belong to him, to allow him to show her how much pleasure is out there waiting for her, all she has to do is say Yes. By the time their week is over and she is returned safely to her husband, he won’t know what hit him. But can it all be that simple, sexual pleasure without any attachments? It might be hard to walk away from it all, especially when your lover turns out to be more than what you bargained for. She’d finally taken off her rose tinted glasses and, come tomorrow, she was ready to grab her life by the scruff of the neck and shake it, hard. She had no idea where the jumbled pieces would fall, but she refused to allow herself to be cowed by fear of the unknown. I loved the self-discovery aspect of this story, she was never really weak just in denial, finally taking her life into her own hands and do something for her. Lucien is everything a man should be dominant yet sweet, dirty yet tender. He always put her needs first; he was, at least for the week, her provider, her protector and her teacher. But something about Lucien has Sophie on edge, how can this incredible man be single? each time she searches for the answers he shuts down making it impossible to get to know the man underneath it all. I really enjoyed Knight & Play, dual POV, erotic and sexy. I’ve read reviews where some struggled with the concept of cheating, but it didn’t bother me, possibly because of the way it was written, to me it was more about a man who decided to stray and thus ended his relationship only not having the balls to fess up and a woman who after years woke up and decided it's over. I can’t believe I waited so long to read this one, Mr. Knight definitely made an impression on me and I can’t wait to see what happens next. The cliff hanger here is not a devastating one, but it will make you want to pick the second book just to get more of Mr. Knight ;)

She hates her job, and her marriage is dying a slow quite death from neglect. She decides to shake things up by taking a job as a personal assistant for Lucien who is, to put it bluntly a "sex mogul". Lucien is intrigued by Sophie's mix of sexy and innocent, and after confirming that Sophie's husband is cheating on her, he decides she is fair game. Lucien decides to take Sophie on a journey of sexual self-discovery, and yaowza, what a journey it was. It's more than just sex though. Wrapped up in his desire to have her, is his desire to save her. Old wounds are opened, and Lucien's past gets mixed up in his present. "Why have you tied me to a tree?" she demanded. He plumed the woolen hat from her head and unzipped her jacket. "It's a game." "A game?" He nodded. "You'll like it." He lifted her hair so it fell behind her shoulders and kissed her exposed neck. "It's called Let's show Sophie how fucking beautiful she is." There was a lot more depth to the characters than I was expecting, especially for such a short book (at least it seemed short. I swear I can't really keep track with ebook s). I'm intensely curious and intrigued to see how this all plays out. You are left with a sort of cliffhanger at the end of this first one, just when reality starts to intrude on all that seduction. We also got a peek into Sophie's husbands head, which added a very interesting dimension to the story. I will defiantly be picking up the next book.

SWITCH OFF YOUR BRAIN, AND EMBRACE THE SMUT! Sophie needs a change. Her job is boring, and she is stifled in an unsatisfying marriage to her childhood sweetheart who is quite possibly cheating on her. So she applies for a job at Knight Inc., as PA to Lucien Knight, the king of a chain of sex stores and sex clubs across London. From their very first meeting at Sophie’s job interview, Lucien is totally smooth but completely inappropriate and the whole thing would reek of sexual harassment in the real world. But this is fiction, and it’s meant to be fun, flirty and playful, so I was happy to go with it. Accepting the job, Sophie’s eyes are immediately opened to the big bad world of the sex industry, and this, plus the flirtation with her boss, allows a different, secretive side of her to come out, and she likes finds that she likes it. Being around the tall, sexy and outrageously flirty and seductive Lucien wakes her up, and she starts to feel things and act in ways that she never has before. The chemistry between the two of them is so strong, she knows straight away that if she stays working with him, something is going to happen between them, yet she runs straight for it. “My husband is having an affair, Lucien ... And here's the thing. Right at the moment, he's God knows where with God knows who until next weekend, and I don’t think I even care.” “He’s a fucking fool” Sophie shrugged and looked out of the window. “Maybe. He’s avoided having sex with me for more than six months now.” “I’ll say it again. He’s a fucking fool.” “Yes.” … “Would it help if we fucked?” From this point on, the book is a total smut-fest! Whether they’re talking about it, watching it, or doing it (mainly doing it), Lucien opens Sophie’s eyes to everything that she has been missing in her sex life. And OH.MY.GOD.IT.IS.HOT! “Sex is natural.” He trailed one finger down the valley between her breasts to her navel, making her stomach muscles jitter in response. “And fucking beautiful.” His clear blue eyes held hers. “Now, forget everything else,” he said, “And Get. On. That. Bed.” Lucien - in addition to being completely fuckhot! - is a bit of a complex character and has his own reasons for ‘helping’ Sophie, and they make the agreement that she will spend the week with him while her husband is ‘away on business’. Lucien is keen to shock his demure and seemingly innocent PA, so he introduces her to the world of kink. But he’s not all arrogant asshole - he has a sweet, protective side, and he watches her, reads her and what she needs, and has moments of tenderness that melted my heart a bit. “You deserve better. You deserve to be adored, and you deserved to be fucked until you can’t stand up.” Told from both POVs, Sophie and Lucien’s relationship is purely physical, although they obviously care for each other and have insane chemistry, and I really liked the dynamic between them. But neither of them consider their hook up to be a romantic one, and there is very little real emotion involved (on the plus side, this meant that there was no game playing and stupidness - thank God!). I had no idea where the story would end up, as it was pretty much all just smut until the very ending of the book where we started to get a bit more emotion, a bit of backstory, and a peek inside the heads of these characters “Some time just after one and somewhere in between awake and asleep, Sophie moved beneath him again. Tangled limbs. Entwined fingers. Damp cheeks. Bruised hearts.” There is no resolution to this intriguing story just yet, instead we are left with a cliffhanger which could have a number of different outcomes. I can’t wait to find out what happens in the next book. 3.5 stars.

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. This book immediately captured my attention, the first time someone told me about it. So, when I was left trying to figure out what to read next, I decided to jump in and read this one. I actually enjoyed this. I wasn’t sure what to expect with it; some reviews I read said it was similar to Fifty Shades and Bared to You, while other reviews said just a little like the other two books. For me, the only similarity (and I haven’t read Fifty Shades) was that the hero was a mega rich billionaire. Oh This book immediately captured my attention, the first time someone told me about it. For me, the only similarity (and I haven’t read Fifty Shades) was that the hero was a mega rich billionaire. Oh yeah…he also likes sex….with toys. Boy did he like his toys. And he should since his whole company revolves around them and sex in general. Lucian Knight made no apologies for what he does or what he likes. I’m not a stranger to erotic books. But I do believe this was a first for me….the first time toys have played such a major role in a book/story. (view spoiler)[ I’ll admit, there were a few scenes where I was left wishing that they would have one sexual encounter without a toy. But more on that in a minute. (hide spoiler)] I liked that we got both Lucien and Sophie’s POVs, but I wish there had been more of Lucien. Too much was in Sophie’s POV, (view spoiler)[so I was left questioning if they would actually form a bond, relationship, emotional attachment, or if every book would be about Lucien having sex with a different woman. I wanted to see a bigger connection between Lucien and Sophie…not just sexual attraction. I didn’t really feel any emotional connection until close to 90% into the book. I thought for sure that they were going to part ways and that was the end of their time together. So you can imagine my surprise when Lucien finally shows the reader that he does in fact feel something for her. (hide spoiler)] There is a cliffhanger, but I’ve definitely read cliffhangers that were worse (i.e. left me saying “Nooooooooo!”). This just left me with a... "So, that's the end." feeling. I’m definitely looking forward to reading more about Lucien and Sophie. The second book won’t come soon enough for me. (view spoiler)[I just had to include the pic below. Lucien took Sophie on a trip to Norway, and this reminded me of the time they spent together in nature… (view spoiler)[ Granted, their time wasn't as...sweet...as that pic, but I thought it was pretty good. ;) (hide spoiler)] (hide spoiler)]

I have been sitting here trying to figure out my rating for this book. I am struggling with how many stars to give this and there are several reasons why. I am leaning towards a 3.5 stars, and it is is on the high end of that because of the last little bit of the book. By the last 20% I became sucked right in and was feeling all sorts of emotions while reading it. Of course, the one downfall in the end was the cliffhanger; but I will excuse that considering the second book is out now and I will I have been sitting here trying to figure out my rating for this book. I am struggling with how many stars to give this and there are several reasons why. I am leaning towards a 3.5 stars, and it is is on the high end of that because of the last little bit of the book. By the last 20% I became sucked right in and was feeling all sorts of emotions while reading it. Of course, the one downfall in the end was the cliffhanger; but I will excuse that considering the second book is out now and I will be able to read it right away. I would have been very angry though, if the next book hadn't been available. I am getting way ahead of myself though, and I suppose I should start at the beginning! We are introduced to Sophie Black who is a "proper" housewife that decides to apply for a job as a personal assisstant. The exciting part of this job is that it is a PA for a very sexy boss named Lucien Knight. Not only is Lucien sexy but he is mysterious-oh, and did I fail to mention he owns 7 clubs and 29 retail shops. The shops sell sex toys, and one of the clubs is called "The Gateway Club" and is meant to encourage sexual freedom for people who are adventurous enough to check it out! When Sophie and Lucien meet in her interview, he decides at first that she is to prudish for the job, but Sophie insists that she can do the job and to give her a chance. There is something vulnerable that Lucien detects with in this intriguing woman, and he also catches the odd spark deep within her. He immediately wants to figure out more about her, and then help her flourish into the woman he feels she truly is inside. Later he finds out she is married, and this sets off warning bells off in him, and Lucien decides to look into the husband as he figures not all is as it seems. Once he determines that Sophie's husband is having an affair on her, Lucien decides he is going to help Sophie gain strength within herself so that she will be able to confront her husband with her self worth in tact. I do suspect his motives are more selfish than that though, as he wants to get Sophie into his bed as well. I loved watching Sophie's journey from being timid about her sexuality, blossom into a woman who became secure in what made her feel good and what she liked. The journey includes things like blindfolds, handcuffs, glass dildos, and even butt plugs! This story includes erotic scenes that are blazing hot, and I did enjoy them. The sexual chemistry between Lucien and Sophie was on fire and didn't disappoint me in the least. The thing that I did find though is that I had a hard time becoming emotionally attached to Lucien. It wasn't until towards the end of the book that I started to find out more of who he is and what his back story is. Once I found out that information it opened my feelings a bit more to him. I did like the dual POV's, it is often hard to find stories that include both POV's; but this one did and it made me like it even more because of it. I found the story to drag on a bit up until the last 20% where it suddenly picked up. I hesitate though to label it as a boring read though, because I think that my lack of concentration could be due to what's going on in my "Real life." For that reason I do choose not to dwell on a lot of my negative feelings because I do think that if I read this one down the road, I might be able to get into it more. There is a lot of sex in this book, so if you are a reader that prefers way more angst and drama; this may not be for you. I am eager to get started on the second book, to find out where the cliffy is going to lead us. All in all, I think this is a series worth looking into, especially for erotica lovers. Lucien is a character I am anxious to see grow as the series continues. Sophie grew alot in this installment, but I can see she has lots of room for even more growth, and I can't wait to see her develop into the woman I'm thinking is hidden inside of her. As far as the writing goes, I have no problem Kitty French's style, and I look forward to reading more of her work in the future!

[The full review is at jessysbookclub.wordpress.com] Arrrrrgggggghhhh! Ok, I had to get that out! I’ve just been left with a cliffhanger to shame all cliffhangers! I actually knew there would be a cliffhanger but I needed a sexy billionaire alpha male fix so bad I decided to still go for it. So what is this about? Lucien Knight is the CEO of a company that both produces sex toys and runs sex clubs. He’s in search of a personal assistant and that’s where Sophie Black comes in. Girl next door Sophie who blushes at the very thought of sex. She agrees to take the job mostly because she’s been living a dull existence (boring job, husband barely touches her…etc). Lucien decides to take it upon himself to strip away Sophie’s inhibitions and the fun begins ;) Let me just start by saying there’s A LOT of sex in this book! I mean the guy is in the sex industry, I get that, but I felt like the first half was just sex. No emotional connection (not that there was intended to be any) I just wish I felt more than you know, steam. So here’s the thing, Lucien has a tortured background where he feels like he failed to protect his mother, so he decides he’s going to help Sophie. I wasn’t quite sure how helping Sophie cheat would help her with her cheating husband…two wrongs and all…but he insisted it would and I decided to see where this would go. At 82% is when I become emotionally invested in this story. The angst finally kicked in and I loved it! Lucien is a sex god (did I mention those steamy scenes?!) but when we finally got some emotion from him is when I got into the book. One last mention. The book was surprisingly vanilla for something meant to be otherwise. I mean, there were a lot of sex toys and all but I was hoping for more of that blindfold :) I suppose (or at least) hope that subsequent books will be less vanilla…oh and more emotion/angst between Lucien and Sophie! 3.5 Stars

Even though this kind of story has been done and redone and then some, I actually enjoyed this book. I know some readers had issues with the cheating [spouses] and I can see why but it didn't bother me at all. I had several problems, cheating which was the least of it. 1. I don't enjoy H's in the sex industry, business wise, or their actual jobs. I find the involvement tacky. 2. I don't expect a hero to have never have been intimate with anyone, but I don't like romances which thrust their tantalising life in the heroine's face. The sex industry business immediately implies the hero's kinks, and his obvious experience with several attendees of his club. It's...distasteful in some respects. 3. Sophie has a cheating husband - correct. He's on a "business" / pleasure holiday with his mistress - correct. She has yet to confront him and is hired by Lucien as his PA. Not two days after, she's having a scandalous affair with him. There is the typical rationalising of cheating by cheating, which I understand but - Lucien (the sexy looking Viking)? Her boss. She doesn't care about her employment which shows stupidity at its best. 4. Another pet peeve: Lucien takes Sophie to his sex club. And they both get highly turned on by watching other people: lesbians, orgies, exhibitionist performances as such. But, this may seem lewd of me, however I don't enjoy it when the hero has this breadth of knowledge and aims to teach the heroine everything she's been missing. I suppose, I would want both of them to be possessive enough that he wouldn't want her watching anyone, and vice versa (even though it wasn't a relationship at this point). "No running. Watch her come. Can you see how close she is, Sophie?” Lucien rocked his cock into her hand against her backside."See how pink she is. Christ…” Lucien whispered. “You’re even more beautiful, Sophie.” 5. Vanilla seems to be an insult which he uses over her. Coined as a term to describe bland and plain sex. But in essence, I don't think you can get anything more base and pure and unadulterated. It's two people and their connection with no toys to exploit that. 6. I skipped the sex. It got really mechanical. Absorbed 75% of the book. Glass dildos, him dictating and teaching her to let go, cuffs, wax and ice actually becomes a bore. 7. And after waiting for the confrontation, where she would confront her cheating scumbag of a husband, it's so anti-climactic and uneventful and so frail of her. There wasn't even a couple of sentences so I knew I'd have to read the next book. I hate cliffhanger bait.

It is well written and that although similar to some stories out there, it had enough of a different story line to seem fresh. In saying that, there were things about this book that I didn’t like. Like Lucien I have a real problem with cheating. Sometimes, totally depending on how it is written, I can handle it. But there was something about Knight and Play that made me uncomfortable. Yes, Sophie’s husband is cheating but does that mean that she should be free too? I didn’t understand Lucien’s need to get Sophie to do the things he wanted her to do. Why is he so keen? Why does he seem to think this will solve all her problems? Does he like her? Is it for revenge? Is he just a jerk who is used to getting what he wants? So many questions… and of course we are just starting to get to the point when we may get some of those answers when we reach my next problem in the book. It’s a cliffhanger!!!! Argh, I know I am not the only one who get’s totally frustrated with reading a great book only to find you have to buy two more to get the answers you seek. This book had started to wane for me a bit and then in the last chapter or so I started to get a bit more excited, emotions were starting to show and I was getting excited. Then….. tense moment… the end. Next book due in April. Grrrrr I admit that this ending gave me enough to intrigue me into getting the next one. One more little thing was, the foreplay in this book was great, the flirting off the charts hot. But when it got down to the nitty gritty, I felt a little gypped. I can’t quite put my finger on why; maybe the way it was written. However, I just couldn’t get into the sex scenes. I wouldn’t complain about this if it was just a romance book, but it is an erotic novel, so the sex is kind of important This book is advertised as being “Romantic, emotional & intensely erotic”. I definitely get the emotional and the erotic part, but at no stage did I feel the romance. I think I needed a bit more character information from Lucien for that to work for me. Sorry, I do not mean to be a big Debbie downer on this book. It was enjoyable and I did really like certain parts, but as a whole there was something just not right about it for me. I am sure this could have been personal, as I said I don’t like reading about cheating. Maybe if I got the whole story instead of just the first bit I could come to a better conclusion and see things more clearly, but as it stands this was only a “good” read for me, not a great one.

This review is for both books of the series (Knight & Play / Knight & Stay). The writing was really good, a fresh style that kept me reading nonstop.
