I’ve read the book Danger After Dark by McDonald Ellie. The main characters are: Lily, the president of the silly stuff club; Sarah, the writer of the club; AnaMaria, the artist of the club; Kate, the “brain” of the club; Elizabeth; and Alex. This story is very adventurous, so it has a variety of settings. But, the main setting would be at the Winston’s mansion. One conflict in the story is that the members of the club need a new place to have their club meetings. The other problem is that there is treasure somewhere in the Winston’s mansion, but for years, nobody was able to find it. Now, the girls are putting clues together to find this hiding treasure. This book is very adventurous. The main characters in the book ended up going all over their town. Like when they went to an old, rusty, ancient, farm house, to get clues for finding the treasure. Another time was when they snuck into the Winston’s mansion to see if they should have their club meetings in there. Finally the girls fount the treasure and finished their adventurous search.

It took me over a year to open my invitation to the Creative Girls Club. The irony of being a twentysomething male invited to a club exclusively for 7-12 year old girls was something I decided to cherish for a while, showing friends and relatives the unmodified proof that the invitation had been sent to me. Upon opening the Creative Girls Club invitation package, I was shocked to discover a paperback mystery novel where I expected a starter craft kit. Of course, I had to read the novel. The book itself is pretty fun. Although the writer sometimes alludes to socially stereotyped gender roles (shopping is almost as fun as painting my toenails!), the tone is surprisingly tame, providing readers with a fun, quick, shallow little story. There are a few fun little real-world connections in the story as well. On the Creative Girls Club

It was an alright read. I read it in the bath, which says a lot about it. I'm also an advanced reader, so the fact that it kept my attention long enough also says something, I feel. It's part of some 90's girls-club era book series, like the Babysitters club. It's about a group of girls who need to find a place for their collecting club to meet, since one of the friends is moving. It's a mystery, but only barely. A light read, which is what I needed and wanted, so that's good. Fans of Cam Jansen It was an alright read. I read it in the bath, which says a lot about it. Danger After Dark is part of Creative Girls Club Mystery book Series. A group of friends try to find a treasure hidden at the Winston estate. Through mystery and adventure these girls work together to find true friendship and escape fear of being scared of the dark. I loved how easily and free the story went like the wind. no stopping to figure something out. I so recommend this book to elementary children and children looking for harder books there level. I'm sure if I were younger I would have really LOVED this book. I did think it was quite clever to have some of the interesting historical information and quotes in the book, like Nathan Hale's famous quote and information about art deco style. And of course I always love a good mystery.

This was a great book full of suspense. It also has a side of mystery as the girls are trying to find the treasure hidden at the Winston estate. I enjoyed the adventure that the group of girls go on, but I also like the friendship characteristics that are evident throughout this book.

I got this book who-knows long ago, in the little promo thing the company mailed out. I read it once before, and remember thinking it was really good, but didn't remember it when I went to write a review. So, I re-read it. I have to say, for being a middle-grade novel, I found it to be a really good read! :-D It was simple, short, but not dumbed down in the least bit, as some are. And, it held me as a reader. The mystery even, had me captivated. It was not who I thought it was going to be in the I got this book who-knows long ago, in the little promo thing the company mailed out. The mystery even, had me captivated. It was not who I thought it was going to be in the end, and it had me guessing until then, too. I love how they used logic, and thought things through. I just have one problem: This book is listed here as #2 in the series. Um, I'd say it was the first. And as far as I know, the only. :-/ You know, I wish the author had other known works. I thought she had a good style. I'd love to see what she could do in YA or something.

I just wanted to do some quick reading today and what better way to do that than to relive my childhood reading. I'm just so grateful that my mom signed me up for the creative girls club when I was younger or I would have never gotten to read this amazing book which I think was my first mystery book!!!

What a neat story of investigation. These girls know how to figure things out by just thinking. It was easy for them to find the “hidden treasure” before the many adults that were looking. Would read more from this series again.

The whole story was a lot like a Baby-Sitters Club book. Its is aiming for a elementary school audience and I think girls would like it. Nothing very memorable or profound but the story is cute even if its pretty cheesy.

A girls club where they like to collect silly things. They help solve a mystery, and rename the club to Creative Girls club instead.
