Cool and epic battle of titans! :) And we also get to see the opposite side of Erin's choice, in all it's bloody and sad glory. I think the coin dropped particularly well between the previous volume and this one. It got under my skin. That female titan really ROCKS.

Can Mikasa be any more badass? She's definitely my favorite character from the series. Amazing, action packed volume, just as expected.

Ok, so about the female titan. I really think it's weird that they just jumped to (view spoiler)["that titan is another one controlled by a human, like Eren!" (hide spoiler)] It's weird how they come to that conclusion so quickly when it's not something that should seem normal. They accepted that paradigm shift way too easily. Why didn't the female titan appear sooner rather than exactly when Eren does? Some of this is so fishy (or just convenient.)

Okay. So I'm horribly attracted to Levi. Is that weird? I think he supposed to be in like his 30s. Yeah, that's really weird. The action in these books just keeps getting better and better! But why does everyone always have to die?

Lots of fights. .death..and gore. Levi shines in this volume. I liked his cool and calm character here, despite having his comrades killed by Female titan, he never loses his composure.

Story You really get to see what the Survey Corps are capable of in this one, and even so how badly outmatched they are by the titans. Captain Levi is something else though. As badass as Mikasa is, Levi is just in a whole other league. You learn more about what Eren might be capable of, but still no whiff of answers. Artwork I'm going to be redundant and say while it's improving with each volume it still doesn't hold up as well as anime.

Pretty much action-vomit spewed all over the pages. I cannot believe how truly horrible these panels are sometimes. I cringe when I see them and basically give up on ever making sense of what is actually occurring. Action. Blood. Forest. Titan. Somebody whose face looks like someone else's face. That's all I'm getting from these twenty panels right here. Ugh.

The insanity in this ones easily makes you forget about every flaw in it. There's a lot of gore and loss, but mostly epic battles. You can easily imagine how great it must be in the anime! Also starting to enjoy the mystery behind this new mysterious Titan and its motivations. WoW this series really has been getting better and better with every volume! I love it.. its still not as good as the show was but its still great, I m so happy that I didn't give up after that first volume :)) The art has improved a lot since the first volume, but the action scenes are still not very clear... However I noticed that the show was extremely faithful to the manga, its almost exactly the same in every way, scene, and word (except of course for the presence of colours and background music) and I love it when the TV adaptation is faithful to the original writing, but for that reason I decided to skip a few volumes as it was getting repetitive for me to just read what I already watched, but I will be continuing without skipping any more chapters from here on.. As far as I know next volume (VOL 8) is going to be the end of Attack on Titan season 1, so I m very excited to see what happens to the story after where it left off in the anime :D Thank you.. And Happy reading :)

Attack on Titan continues with Volume 7. There is quite a bit to take in in this particular volume. The high-intensity situation that is taking place was so exceptionally written and presented that I feared my heart would stop just from the anticipation. Emotions and gut-wrenching predicaments have made the seventh installment quite possibly the most jaw-dropping volume of the series yet.

Talk about an intense and brutal fight. This series is too much ad yet you want to know what happens. In story and to the characters and where it will go from there. And I can add Levi to my favorite character list next to Mikasa, Armin, Sasha, etc. Well, I thought he was an interesting character before, but in this, just makes him even better.

The anime includes additional shots that improve the reactions of the characters to the usually horrible shit going on around them and/or happening to their loved ones, as well as just cool shots in general: (view spoiler)[I have in mind the moment the Female Titan approaches Levi's team in the forest and casually swats a soldier. That moment (hide spoiler)] . There are only two notable absences in the anime. First, a telling moment in which Annie offers to teach Eren her technique, which would have strengthened their bond for what was to come. Second, nobody in the show, that I can recall, questions where the hell had Eren's father been for the last five years. Why wouldn't they present it as a dramatic question when it was already in the manga? In any case, the manga is awesome and the show is awesome.

But they don't seem to be after the humans - instead they're targeting the Titan! My Thoughts: This mission went oh so wrong. It can't be blamed on the Survey Corps; there's just too much that they don't know about the Titans and their job is even harder when there are spies in their midst working against humanity. No one knew things could go this badly. It was an utter failure. Eren is still too new to this Titan thing, but it didn't have anything to do with him that caused this failure. It isn't even Commander Erwin's fault. Yes, Eren was meant to be bait, but there was no way to know that the spy would be this crafty. It's insanity. I hate to think what may happen to Eren and the top members of the Survey Corps after so many people died. Someone is bound to see this as being that using Eren to help save humanity is too risky. With public opinion against them, what will they do?

Holy crap. That was freaking insane. I can't wait to read volume 8. I really need to know who this female titan is. SPOILERS I'm sad to see Levi's squad gone. They were pretty interesting as characters and to see them killed off so quickly and violently was....wow.

However, like many of its kind, this titan-shifter as they are referred to by the public, has extra abilities, this one in specific has a crystallized shield in which she can summon and disperse on command, she obviously uses this ability to her advantage, shielding the nape of her neck with her hands, to keep from revealing her true identity. It then cuts to right outside the forest, Armin and Jean are talking when they see a titan learn to climb, something that seemed trivial at the time but had the terrifying realization that titans could learn. Back on the inside of the forest, Levi and his comrades attempt to break the barrier between them and the female titans identity, with various weapons and attack (one of which is Levi's famous spin attack) however the attempts are futile and they resort to a few moments of thought, while Levi has a talk with the girl inside the titan saying how she should just come out now, however, she reacts yet again, with a screech of epic proportions, attracting all titans within the hearing vicinity, due to the fact that she is still a human, they all attack her body, devouring it in seconds, giving the human within the body time to escape and continue her plan. As the news that the female titan has be freed is quickly spread to the 104th squad, they get on the move, Eren unknowingly spotting the mystery person as they fly through the forest attempting to escape. Only when the person exits erens view then transforms into the titan does Eren realize he could've eradicated the problem immediately, he quickly forgets this and continues on with the group trying to outrun the titan. However, many of the people in the 104th squad are killed, this includes Petra, oluo, erd, and Gunther, leaving behind just eren and Levi as they try to escape. After his comrades death, Eren is (like usual, i mean dear god,) filled with rage, and he transforms into a titan, attacking the female titan with ferocity, however, he is not strong enough and the female titan achieves her goal, kidnapping him. Mikasa sees this, following after the titan followed herself by Levi, and they rescue him. He sustained injuries and is found unconscious, so they keep him in one of the few remaining cargo carriages as they head back to the walls. But the fight isn't over yet, as they're running, two soldiers begin to panic as they realize their friends body has fallen off the cart, and go to get it, in the process they manage to attract even more titans, which causes the rest of the squad to resort to throwing the bodies of the scavenged dead off the carts, and they make their escape beck to wall rose where they are greeted by hundreds of civilians excited to see their own heroes (or most of them) back and safe in the walls, its around this point that we see eren break down and begin to cry as he sees a brother and sister, both clearly excited about the corps, who greatly resembled he and Mikasa a great while ago, thus ending the book, and this part of their story. Recommendation: YES! OH GOd YES! READ IT! Its a tear jerker to anyone with any sort of emotion as you witness, even minor characters cut off one by one, catches your breath as you witness the titans close in on our favored heroes, and it stops your heart with its suspenseful 'to be continued..' at the end of the book, as you place it down, pages clearly stretched and possibly damp from the tears you were unaware you'd shed, as you stare at a wall across from you wide-eyed, shoulders shuddering from the recent traumatization, if you dont consider it to be a good well written book from that description, then I dont know what is. Interview With Eren Jaeger: Me: So, Mr.Jaeger, first and formost, id like to say thank you for taking time out of your bust schedule to talk with me today, Eren: No problem miss Ringer *I nod in acknowledgment* Me: Okay, lets start with the questions *clears throat* Me: Mr.Jaeger, what is it like to be an active member within the survey corps? Eren: Its, not what I thought it would be,... Me: How so? Eren: Well, at first, I thought it was a big group of people who were fighting to save the human race and to eradicate titans, killing them left and right, everyone I assumed was the bravest of the brave, strongest of the strong, but in the end, it was just a group of people who constantly play poker with death while he has a royal flush Me: Wow, an extreme way to put it, onto the next question Me: What was it like to travel outside of wall rose for your first mission? Eren: At first, exciting, I thought that nothing could beat us, that the formation would protect us from any titans comig our way, when actually, the death toll was higher than triple my age, after the female titan broke through it, Me: I believe we all mourn the death of your brave and courageous comrades, they were good people, *Eren nods, visibly tearing up a bit* Me: We can stop at anytime if you dont feel comfortable answering any more questions, *He wipes any tears out of his eyes sniffing quietly* Eren: No, No, we can continue, Me: Okay, I only have a few left anyways Me: What was it like to see all of your comrades die? *Eren's eyes grow wide and he visibly tenses* Eren: W-well, it made me feel helpless, like I was weak and pointless, because these veterans hadn't made it through the forest, so, how could I? I was, powerless. Me: Oh my, that sounds dreadful Me: Two more questions and then we'll be done, Me: How is Levi handling the death of his squad? Eren: Well, he may not look it, but his shoulders slump, hes even quieter than before, hes almost pitiful, he seems to be cutting himself off a bit, you can tell that he misses them, especially Petra, if im correct, she was only a year or two older than me, its a depressing sight, Me: Mhmm, unfortunate, alright, last question, has commander Erwin begun to plan another retreat to retrieve wall Maria? *Eren shakes his head* Eren: No, not currently if Im right, but knowing him for the time that I have, he'll probably start soon, *Eren finishes his sentence with a grin* Me: Iconic words, thank you for being here with us tonight, Eren, enjoy your trip home, *Eren stands up, exiting the right side of the stage with a wave as the interview comes to a close and the show ends*

I probably should’ve read the manga before watching the show, to form a more accurate view of the characters, but I can’t bring myself to regret it. “Why not?” you might wonder. All that to say, this particular manga dragged a bit at times. They took breaks from the actions to have deep thoughts and mini-monologues that, while helpful to form the story and characters, could’ve been sprinkled more artfully through it. I do like the angle they seem to be going for. They repeatedly seem to be aiming for “the end justifies the means,” which is sticky, but interesting to see play out. But it was nice to see the more minute character reactions when I know how important certain things are going to be, since I saw the show first. Attack on Titan, vol 7 by Hajime Isayama, genre: horror, action, and tragedy. OMG!!!!! Anyway, this story is about soldiers fighting a Great War against humanoid Giants called Titans, who eat humans for pleasure and has already killed most of mankind, forcing the survivors to retreat behind giant walls to protect them. The story revolves around young Eren, (a boy with an endless amount of determination to kill all Titans) Mikasa, (a girl that is incredibly skilled and strong in fighting that is overly protective of Eren) and Armin (a weak but incredibly genius boy who is Eren's best friend and a master strategist). They enroll in the military and make new friends and allies, who will help them fight the Titans. In this point, Eren has joined Levi's squad and is preparing to set out on the next expedition outside the walls. Little does he know a powerful foe awaits him outside. The reason I love this book is that the theme is so well expressed through each chapter and the storyline goes at a perfect pace. They could have improved by taking more time to actually express the personalities of everyone in Levi's squad. I would recommend this book to horror and tragedy lovers who would like some good action as well due to the super intense fighting scenes between the soldiers and the Titans. Due to excessive gore and depressing themes however, I would only recommend it to 13+ audience depending on the maturity. However, if you fit all of those categories and it sounds like a thrill of a ride, go for it! However, nothing will make any sense if you don't read the first 6 volumes first so read those first please. (Sorry). So go ahead, start reading!

I watched the first few episodes on nextflix but it’s not in English so I opted to go with the manga to check it out because the complete series exists instead of just season one. This is my first manga so I don’t really have any prior experience to base it off when it comes to the art or story. I like the art it’s not over complex when it comes to telling the story it seems to work for the gritty horror story. So far the story while is well developed it’s easy to get lost turning the pages. The Seventh installment the Survey Corps are still outside the wall only they have caught the female titan with the anticipation of figuring out who’s really inside. However before they can take her back to the base she lets loose a cry calling all the titans who are near to charge into the forest right for her eating her body as she sheds her titan form. Leaving them stuck trying to figure out who it was. Armin may not be the fighter that Mikasa is but he’s clearly very intelligent and might just be able to figure who’s the spy among the ranks. I enjoyed volume 7 it’s a little more of what’s going on learning more about the titans. We are starting to see more of Armin’s true character as well as Mikasa who we already know is a badass. Secrets are unfolding slowly in the story but it’s starting to reveal more and more that maybe some of the few know more about the reason the titans exist than they are letting on. Another fast paced action packed installment the more I learn the harder it is to put them down. I’m curious to see who’s the female titan and what they plan to do about her. So far I’m really enjoying the way the series is going and can’t wait to finish. I very well could spend the next day finishing off the series because I’m hooked. It just keeps getting better and better as the manga progress.
