This is the sixth book in the Missing Mogul series. Alex is back, but still has no memory of who he is or what happened to him. We don't see much of him in this story. Josh starts out as being a bit of a butt head. He has no intention of giving Kiley the added funding and barely pays attention to her presentation. It isn't until he discovers she's the woman he mistakenly slept with three years ago that he comes up with another idea. He offers her an extra month's funding so that he can observe the center and she can convince him that the day care is actually worth it. Kiley isn't exactly thrilled with the idea of him popping in and out. The attraction between them is even stronger than it was and she doesn't want it to affect her job. Josh would really like a chance to get to know her for real this time. I loved his surprise at finding out she had a child and how quickly he adapted his plans so that Emmie was included. He was really out of his comfort zone when he was around her, but he had a really sweet way of acting with her. It didn't take too long for him to get really comfortable with her. Josh has always been the carefree bachelor type of guy, but being around Kiley and Emmie has started to change him. I thought he was coming around to being a really nice guy. He realized that his feelings for Kiley were different than for anyone else he'd been with, but he really fought the idea that he was in love. When he found out about being Emmie's father he didn't handle the news well and I really wanted to shake him. I liked what he did at the end as a way to make amends, it was definitely a "go big" moment. Kiley had been divorced from her husband for a long time. He had signed away all his rights to Emmie and acted like they didn't even exist. Kiley is very independent and works hard at being able to support Emmie on her own. The director job is perfect for her because she can have Emmie there with her. When she first talks with Josh he isn't aware of their history because they had not actually seen each other that night. She isn't happy about telling him, but knows she has to. She really doesn't expect their attraction to be so strong. I found the idea that she hadn't realized the true paternity of Emmie a little strange until it was explained, but it added an extra twist to the story. As her suspicions grew she spent a lot of time watching the way they interacted and it changed the way she had thought of him before. Kiley spent a lot of time trying to figure out the best way to tell him and feared what his reaction would be. Her inner struggles with how and when to tell him showed her love for him, but also her insecurity about what he felt for her. Though their relationship began because of simple attraction, Kiley's love for Josh grew quickly. I think it was really enhanced because she saw how wonderful Josh was with Emmie and how sure she was that he would be good to her. There was some satisfaction at the end when the identity of the day care vandal was discovered. I admit that it was exactly who I thought it was. I really enjoyed the discovery and the way the vandal is going to be dealt with.

Kiley Roberts is the day care manager that we met in Piper and Ryan's book, To Tame A Cowboy. She's wary of Josh Gordon who's on the TCC's funding committee. The two of them have a history as 3 years ago in a bizarre circumstance of mistaken identity, the two ended up sleeping with each other. Kiley's a single mom of a cute 2 year old girl and despite Josh being a bachelor for life type and not really into kids, he can't deny his chemistry and draw to Kiley and her daughter, Emmie. I liked the story but I felt it was a bit rushed. It's pretty short and certain things I felt got wrapped up too quickly like finding out who the person was that vandalized the day care center and the whole reveal of Emmie's paternity to the "I love you" Josh and Kiley share. Also, there's very little continuation of Alex's story which I would've liked to have seen a bit more of.

I didn't realise this was book 7 in a series until after I'd read it, but I honestly don't think it made a huge difference to anything. I certainly had no issues reading it as a standalone. I found it to be a pleasant enough story involving nice people, living in a nice town, experiencing nice lives, but despite this (or maybe because of it) I found it a little bland. This rather annoyed me because the romance in this is far closer to what I'm always demanding (but rarely get) from the novels I r I didn't realise this was book 7 in a series until after I'd read it, but I honestly don't think it made a huge difference to anything. This rather annoyed me because the romance in this is far closer to what I'm always demanding (but rarely get) from the novels I read than most others. I think my problem with this one is that because the characters were so sensible, understanding, and drama free (for the most part), the story really needed an outside threat/ force to give the couple something truly difficult to strive against in order to feel like their HEA was meaningful. Unfortunately nothing serious ever really developed so the entire book was basically nice people eating meals together and snuggling with toddlers, which is cool and all but not terribly exciting to read about. I'd say that this story would probably work best as a light break between heftier, more emotion wracked reads, or as an inoffensive time waster for when you just need to take a step back from a stressful day/ life/ world and not think about anything too deeply for a while. I also suspect that if I could take the easy going relationship from this and insert some dramatic tension from a suspense to give the nice people something to overcome (yay, attempted murder/ arson/ kidnapping!), I'd possibly have something approaching a perfect romance novel (for me at least).

A Very Good Story with Unexpected Twists and Turns This is a good book with a very different twist that I have not read before. I enjoyed the characters and the little girl was adorable. Josh Gordon had no intention of funding the Texas Cattleman's Club day-care center even though Kiley Roberts was the one doing the asking. Neither had forgotten the accidental explosive night they spent together three years ago. Kiley was staying at her sister's apartment and her sis was dating a guy named Josh Gordon. Josh decided to spend the night at his girlfriends because he had been drinking at a business dinner. He didn't turn the light on when he entered her bedroom and had no idea he was crawling into bed with someone whom he had never met. Kiley thought it was Mark, her boyfriend, who had come to make up with her because of the fight they had. Wow...loved it. As Josh and Kiley began to mix business with pleasure Josh cannot deny the feelings that have developed for Kiley and her young daughter, Emmie. But, what will happen when Josh decides to ask about Emmie's daddy?

Nice story as only Ms. DeNosky could do. Without extravagances, this book has an interesting love story with unexpected twists. Nice chemistry between H/h and flows smoothly around them. And Josh and Kailey's daughter was the cutest girl. The "pony princess" steals the show!! Even though it was not completely credible that Kailey and Josh made love for the first time thinking their partner was someone else, it was well developed in the plot. And the way Kiley really thought that her daughter was her ex husband's instead of the hero was very well conducted and explained. There were less about what happened to Alex than the previous books, but the author didn't left behind the topic and put enough to make us intrigued about it. Oh, and the book has a huge flaw: the state investigator was Bailey Collins, not Britt Collins as Ms. DeNosky wrote in her book.

It was good, but I was disappointed that one of the regular character's name in the series was incorrect in the book. Bailey Collins was referred to as Britt Collins through out the book.
