I picked this one up as a laugh since I thought the concept of a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure novel for adults was going to be a bit of fun. But the book had already lost me in the first choice. You get to choose what underwear you want to wear on your big night out. I chose the comfy undies, and the response to that was "NO WAY - WHO WEARS COMFY UNDIES ON A NIGHT OUT?!?" and forced me to go back and choose a 'more appropriate' undergarment. Well fuck you, book. I DO wear comfy undies on a night out. Just because my liaison is completely fictional, doesn't mean I don't want to be comfy while experiencing it. So I put the book down, put on my most comfy granny panties and went to the pub. A much better use of my time.

I used this book for my little sister's Bachlorette party and it was such a major success with the ladies. We loved it. All the girls enjoyed it & I'll admit to blushing (if a mixed girl blushing is possible) a few times while reading - but give me a break - I was reading to a room full of hormonally crazed bachelorettes!! This book is a fun read. You should definitely give it a try! If you let yourself have fun with it, you'll finish the book feeling a little like this: 3.5 fun, sexy Sta I used this book for my little sister's Bachlorette party and it was such a major success with the ladies. I liked the idea of a sexy choose-your-own-adventure novel, but I went into it expecting some of the content to be problematic; people's sexual preferences are simply too specific for such a book to cater to everyone who reads it. *spoilers* While I applaud the author for including a story line that allows the (female) readers to experiment with another woman, other options were less liberal. At least one character in the book is kink-shamed for the sake of comedy; and one story line even goes as I liked the idea of a sexy choose-your-own-adventure novel, but I went into it expecting some of the content to be problematic; people's sexual preferences are simply too specific for such a book to cater to everyone who reads it. *spoilers* While I applaud the author for including a story line that allows the (female) readers to experiment with another woman, other options were less liberal. At least one character in the book is kink-shamed for the sake of comedy; and one story line even goes as far as to kink-shame the reader, if he or she makes the 'wrong' choice. Though it - as you'd expect - caters to cis female women; and while you can't ask the author to include everyone's personal fetishes, it would do this story a lot of good if it were just a bit more open-minded. Because choose-your-own-adventure books are pretty neat, and it would be awesome if more people could enjoy them.

Ugh this book was THE DUMBEST. I picked it up off the ARC shelf looking to have some giggles with Hillary Dog, and it is so disappointing. It's not that Pretty Little Mistakes: A Do-Over Novel is genius or anything, but that book is certainly more creative and had more interesting choices. For this dumb book all roads lead home to watch Bridget Jones in sweatpants. PUH-LEASE. Ugh this book was THE DUMBEST. What a clever idea! This book is sexy and hot, but unlike most erotica, it's well written and believable. The plot (plots!) are fun and entertaining, and the bonus is that it's like buying a whole bunch of books, as you can read a different thread each time. The perfect Christmas, birthday, or hen party gift. It's saucy, but not seedy, so don't be shy to gift it to your mum-in-law, she will love it too! I can't wait to read the next one.

I read 1 full story to completion. I chose to follow 1 story instead of going back to read everything but I skimmed. My choice was the best one. But yeah this was not well written by any means but this concept is great. Hoping the wedding one is just as entertaining. This book is really not as bad as many of the reviews try to tell you it is. It's not an easy job writing a book like this, where it all have to match up, in between story lines. I think the 3 Writers did great job at attempting that. And yeah maybe it has tacky parts, but hey - don't tell me you read this book for the literature aspect of it. I do think it's a shame that it's impossible to go anywhere over the edge with it. I feel that if the writers had dared to go there, it would have been a book that was a little bit different ... because they didn't, it's just sitting safely somewhere in the middle . I did it all, with them all. I went all the places, with all the guys - and also with the girl. I was almost a bit annoyed you couldn't completely slut out, and do more with them all at the same time. I mean, if we are doing this, we might as well do it. I will say this though - and here come the spoiler - just go with the rock star. Have the tequilas , go to his hotel room. Who have tequila shots with orange btw? That's just wrong! Lol. 3 stars, I think it was a entertaining read. I don't know if I'll read the next in the series, but I did enjoy this one.

Every time I see one of these choose your own way or destiny books I get really excited. The concept is so brilliant, and I love that you're getting more for your money, as you can start again over and over and get a different ending each time. I also would have liked a lot more in descriptions, and a bit more with the characters as you obviously don't get a knowledge of them. A book completely different from every other one I've read so far... It's you who choose how this will end up, and you can choose one or all ends!!! I've choose all of them... I needed to know how every option could bring an entire world of possibilities and how they would have or not a proper close... And the mental images... interesting... hahaha

Steamy choose your own adventure. I love the idea, but the characters were wooden, dialog was weird and unreal, and the heroine is a prude. If a happy ending for you is home alone in sweat pants, it may resonate.

ARC received for an honest review. So when I saw the opportunity to read something a little different, I went for it. Did you ever read the "Choose your own Adventure" books as a kid? Well, this was something like that, only you get to choose your own fantasy. You read through a setting then choose the path you want to go. So you call the shots on how the book goes and then you can go back and change it or read it another way when your done, so there are several ways this story can go. It was certainly entertaining. I read it a few different ways. Some of them ended in comical ways, some of the scenes were definitely Hotter than others. This book was fun to read, and it's always nice to read something a little different than the usual. My only issue I had was that I read it on the kindle. And I had trouble going to the right page, because the pages weren't labeled correctly. So I had to flip through and try to find the right one. It would be perfect for a paperback book though, and that would be my suggestion or change the page numbers on the format so that it coincides with the story. I'm rating it 3.5 stars for this reason and for the extra work I had to put into reading it. The concept is a good one though. :)

Okay, so this book was a freebie with the latest issue of Women's Health magazine, which I'll admit I only bought because I heart freebies, and I've followed one story line, if you can call it that, and it was better than I expected from the book's rating! :P I hooked up with the drummer and I was really into it and then (view spoiler)[he was made out to be quite pathetic AND THEN HE WANTED TO BE PEED ON (hide spoiler)] and I was like, HUH?! I thought this book had so much potential and maybe went into it with high expectations, but I was completely let down. It was cool that you could choose to try things you normally wouldn't (like being with a girl) but there was a lack of sensuality that is need in a book like this. Wrong Words seemed to be used in the wrong place and I ended up laughing partway through the scenarios. Perhaps this is what the author wanted, but as the reader I was expecting more.

I have never read a book like this before. I definitely enjoyed being able to choose where you went in the book. I only read some of the scenarios but it definitely kept my interest. And for it being sort of erotic was a nice little twist. Totally a book for every woman who needs a little fantasy in her life!

This story line is simple, it starts with a girl walking into a bar and her friend stands her up. Her night, has many various options and only by the time I was in the third option, did I realise that the "girl" was me! I was making all the choices and then the rest of the stories took on a new light. The book is simple but intelligent and more so fun!

I gave this three stars because it's a choose your own adventure for adults, unfortunately, more often than not, the options led to really bizarre turns. I think if the author made the choices and end results more appealing the book would be five star worthy.

A Girl Walks Into a Bar is a choose your own adventure for adults. I found this book when searching for something for the prompt "choose your own adventure" in the 2019 PopSugar Reading Challenge.  My only real experience with choose your own adventure books was when I was younger with some of the Goosebumps books. Sometimes when you select, the book basically tells you no and sends you back to select something else. I would skim through some of the different scenarios, but ended up seeing one fully through, and it was weird.  The book itself wasn't horrible, it just didn't blow me away either. I could go back and see through some of the other scenarios the rest of the way, but they seemed to lead to a disappointing night, at least in the one I went with, my character got laid by a rock star with drawn on fake tattoos who wanted her to pee on him (don't worry, the book basically makes the character ghost the rocker after that). It could be worse. One scenario had her teaching a hot, young bartender all about the birds and the bees with his own private lesson and him failing miserably. There was also a scenario where she was invited to a photo exhibit that was vaginas that looked like flowers. So...up to you really and what you are in the mood for.  This book has adult content, so if that is not what you want, I wouldn't suggest it. But if you are looking to rekindle your childhood nostalgia and give a choose your own adventure a try as an adult, this one isn't horrible, depending on which adventure you want to go on.

It’s been ages since I’ve read a choose your own adventure book. My how they have grown up! This was a fun romp and i loved the possible encounters with men, younger and older, the rock star and the guy next door. I found myself doing the same thing I used to do as a kid, trying all the options to see which one could be the best! I would definitely recommend it for people that want to chose their own ‘adult’ adventure!

This book was cute and interesting. I have never had a book where i can chose what happens. While it was interesting experience the writing itself was not that great. Now i know it takes a little talent to write one story and have to have it go in all directions but the writing made me feel like i was reading a bad fan fiction. Was quite and easy read, got through the whole book with in two hours.

In this novel, YOU make the decisions. Will you do body shots with a rock star? Cozy up to the hot bartender? Follow a mysterious woman to a rather unusual exhibition? Investigate a suave millionaire's box of tricks? Take a joyride with a buff bodyguard? Or maybe what you want is closer to home than you realize. . . . So many options. . . . All you have to do is choose. As I've said MANY times, I HATE giving low ratings or bad reviews. I hate having to pick books apart or give feedback that isn't positive, but I have to express why this book is such a low rating since I rarely give 1 star to books. To give anyone reading this review an idea of how this works since this type of book isn't common (that I know of), I'll explain a little how it worked. The author will give the reader options to choose from and have the reader make decisions throughout the book at various places and the reader is given anywhere from 2 to 3 options on how they want to proceed. You click on your choice in how you'd like to proceed on your Kindle (or whatever e-reader that you use) and it will skip to that part of the book that will continue the story based on what choice the reader made. Like I said at the beginning of this review- the concept behind this book is great and unlike other books. A book that lets the reader basically become the main character in the book and choose where the story goes based on decisions the reader makes during frequent parts of the book is a fun and refreshing idea. With that being said, the execution was poorly done in my opinion. There were several times in the book when the author gave an illusion of the reader choosing what would happen next only to find out there really wasn't any choice at all. I literally went through the book after 1 time reading it to see what the other options would have been and that's how I discovered this. To clarify this better, here's some examples: *The book starts out before the main character (or reader in this case) goes to the bar to meet up with a friend for drinks. You get to "choose" what type of underwear the character will wear under her dress. The choices were lacy g-string, comfortable underwear and 2 other choices. If the reader chooses anything but the g-string the author will make up reasons why the character (or you as the reader) cannot choose that item and you are forced to wear that anyway. Not a big issue, but takes the "choice" away from the reader. *So based on what I'd just said, the beginning choice is really taken out of the reader's hands. There were 6 different ways that the middle of the story could have gone based on what I'd seen when I went back through the book after my 1st read through to see what other things would have happened if I chose differently- there may have been more, but from what I saw the story could have gone 6 different ways in the middle of it.... with that being said I found a couple of those stories the author gave the reader the illusion of having a choice, for example, with one of the more kinky guys it had if you chose to continue staying with him the author had some message on there basically saying that it wasn't an option to continue and something along the lines of the reader not wanting to continue down that path- AGAIN taking the choice out of the reader's hands. *The ending was basically set in stone. Although there was 6 ways to get to the end, the ending ended one of two ways. Either the character (or I guess the reader) ended back at the apartment going directly in OR ended up meeting a guy that just moved in a couple days before on her floor in her apartment building. There were several ways that the reader can go about meeting the neighbor, whether it's out at a coffee shop and walking home to discover they are neighbors to the reader meeting the new neighbor guy after she returns home from other paths that can be taken through the book and different ways she can meet the neighbor guy in the apartment building. *There were some parts in the story that you had NO control over if the character left what was happening and at times it was frustrating. So honestly this book is really a fascinating idea, but I felt the author was too much in control over what happened in many parts and gave the illusion of the reader having a choice when really they didn't so it fell flat for me and I don't think the idea was executed well. If this interests you or you want to try something new where YOU are the main character in the book, then give it a try. I personally don't think this book is worth the money when you pay around $6 for the ebook. I may try the author's other book to see if it's any better since the overall rating is a bit higher than this book, but I won't read this book again. It wasn't worth my time and I was disappointed.

For a choose your own adventure it was a bit predictable and the choices didn't really feel like choices. I felt led throughout the whole thing because it was fairly obvious what you shouldn't choose if you wanted to keep reading. The characters "I" encountered were a bit cliche and even referred to as such in the text. Still, it was a cool concept and a light easy read.

This was my first choose your own adventure. I went through three scenarios and wasn't a fan of the rocker choice. The other two were good, and I liked the heated scenes. I just hope the guy next to me on the plane didn't peak at my reading material. I found the scenarios to be short, and would prefer to have had some follow-up to each scenario instead of just going to bed.

This is more of a choose your own erotic scenario. Everything felt rather shallow and I did a lot of cringing. I can't tell if it's me wanting more depth in the "characters" or if the choose-your-own format just doesn't work for romance.

Novel concept, fluffy little read. But no real story, character, or anything of substance. But perhaps that's not the point? It is interesting to me that this is by a thriller author that I really like, writing under a pseudonym.

I've never read a Choose Your Own Adventure book and this was quite fun! I love the different choices and how the story plays out. I've read it a few different ways and it's fun all around. The storyline is pretty generic, but a fun way to experience something you wouldn't normally do.

This was a fun book to read. I enjoyed the twists and thrills. Wasn’t less than I expected. I didn’t dislike much about the book except for its lack of ethnic diversity. I’d recommend this to any woman looking for a fun read. I liked it for what it is and that’s why it gets a 4.
