Ok...This book would have had a higher rating if it would have been written or edited better. I use to be a journalist and I can not accept a published book that has spelling errors such as lemonade spelled leomaid and rec center spelled wreck center. That gives it a totally different meaning if you look the word up on the Web. To me one must check their work over and over and then again and if need be have someone else check it. I got so paranoid reading this book I wanted to get out my yellow marker and mark up my Kindle and for me that takes a lot away from the enjoyment of reading a story. Now for the story if I was rating the story it would get a 4. The plot was well planned out and it has some unexpected things that happened that added to the telling of the story. It also set the series up for the rest of the guys and their stories that I am sure will be coming soon. I enjoyed the humor that was thrown in the book to take down the level of tension that was going on with the Amour and Jason. The sex was hot and raunchy and if you are not into that kind of thing this book would not be one for you. The language gets kind of rough at times during the sexual parts of the book which for me really is not needed because the rest of the book really does not have the course and graphic language. It is almost like the author just likes to get down and dirty describing sex and that did take a big away from the book for me as well. If the rough edge was in the entire book I would get it but it was just when they were talking about women and sex. Overall the plot was very good and well planned but the writing left me want more from the author. I guess I am looking for better editing and more even flow in the words used in the writing before I decide if I get more books in this series or not.

“Love’s Protector” is full of mystery and intrigue. This story has great potential but needs to be more concise. I enjoyed the suspense and the bite of danger in this story. Both Jason and Armour were likable and interesting. There were a few bumps the road as usual, Armour didn't listen to Jason and brought danger upon herself, but in the life of the story it worked. Jason had some anger issues but with the backstory told that was understandable. I enjoyed the romance most of all. Thank you to Net Galley for a review copy.

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. For a well-developed plot and a suspenseful ending, I give this book three stars. But there were quite a few things here that drop it to two. First, and this is hard to pinpoint, there was just something about this book that seemed to lack polish, that placed it in an amateur category as opposed to professional. First, and this is hard to pinpoint, there was just something about this book that seemed to lack polish, that placed it in an amateur category as opposed to professional. Maybe it was editing - quite a few random errors like "lemon aid" and "marriage of convince" along with the occasional switch to present tense when the entire book is written in past tense. These were rather jarring for the reader. It might also have been the lack of a beta reader, who might have questioned the entire conversation about how Amour can't get her mother's police file because she isn't "next of kin." To my understanding of hte definition, a biological daughter most definitely counts as next of kin. A beta reader might have also pointed out many points in the book that were simply too convenient. Like the fact that Amour's father had been paying for a storage space and a safe deposit box set up by her mother for 27 years instead of simply bringing the items home. Who does that? But it was awfully convenient he had because then she could access them in her investigation. SMH. I also found it difficult to believe that Amour could become so suspicious after hearing that her mother died of a heart attack at 23 from a congenital heart problem. Really, not that implausible and no reason to raise suspicion. It is entirely possible for someone to die without knowing they had a heart problem (or a history of it, given that her mother had been adopted). So I don't get why she'd go to so much trouble. Perhaps a beta reader might have helped with that as well. Finally and I think this is what sets it apart from a truly awesome story, the plot and the characters seemed to lack depth. At no point did I feel engaged with any of the characters or really feel any emotion towards them. It felt like they were going through the motions and I was following along. And some of the behavior seemed awfully unrealistic (view spoiler)[ Amour spends twenty minutes with a man she just found out is her real father through adultery and who never had any contact with her and whose wife just confessed to killing her mother. After that short period of time, she forgives him, accepts him as her father, meets her sister and agrees to go to a barbecue at his house so they can all get to know each other. Highly unrealistic. There is usually an identity struggle in this case. (hide spoiler)] This story had a lot of potential, but it was just not for me. I want to really feel connected to the characters I read about and this story didn't quite deliver.

**I received an ARC copy for my review** After telling how her mother Carly Graciette died twenty-seven years ago, her sick father still believes is was not a natural cause. Amour Graciette sets out on a quest for answers, not knowing what box of Pandora she’s about to open. Leaving her home Omaha, Nebraska Amour flies to LA where she tries to find some answers from the West Side Community Police but only they won’t help her because this case is closed, normal cause of death by heart attack. In these deadly situations Jason and Amour grow closer to another, will they have time to explore this attraction or will they run out of time with their lives on the line? Loved the characters with the way they communicated with each other, it was a great story it had everything laughs, tears but most of all it kept me in suspense until the end. I will definitely read more of her books.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review Love´s Protector is a suspense-driven novel with a touch of romance. It contains everything a good romantic suspense must have: Amour, our protagonist is in danger and the love story between her and Jason builds at the same time they are confronting jeopardy. This book kept me guessing ´til the end...it wasn´t in the least predictable! All the main characters were well drawn and likable. I definitely can see the potential of turning this into a series starring Jason´s collegues... But as some other reviewers already pointed out, this book should have had beta readers before being published!!!

I received an ARC copy in exchange for a honest review. I liked this book. It had a thrilling story line, as well as a little romance. The only issues I had were, there were missing words through out and sometimes words were used in correctly. There were a few times that I didn't understand what was going on until I read a section a few times. I liked Jason and Amour. Amour finds out her mother, who died when she was three, may have actually been murdered. Traveling half way across the country she meets Jason a bodyguard/PI who agrees to help her investigate. Soon after the phone calls and threats begin and they find out more and more about the mystery surounding her mothers death. Much more than they bargained for. They find out just how crazy the people in L.A. can really be. I really enjoyed most of this book it had some great characters, the story was good with loads of twists and turns and although the ending wasn't a great surprise it was a great book. I had issues with a couple of bits but if I go into detail it will spoil it. I would definately recommend this book, for me it was a step above most free reads and had a bit of everything, romance, murder, conspiracies, lies, deceit and an unsolved murder dating back almost thirty years.

Loved this book. I like reading books with a strong female character and then enter the Alpha male. Very well written and a could not put down book. Mystery, secrets, murder and love, what a combination.

This was a great read! I was a little hesitant on getting it because RS tends to be very blah and I tend to know what's going to happen early on but I must say, this one had me guessing the whole time. Some parts made me laugh, some parts made me cry, I was very impressed! I recommend!
