As always, Wars begin because the rich and powerful wish to become richer and more powerful. But of course it won’t be the rich and powerful doing the fighting. The most powerful cartel ever to exist, the Illuminati, after hundreds of years, now have their people in all positions of power, politicians, teachers, ministers, generals, CEOs, law enforcement, and are finally ready to take over the world, create a one-world government, religion, army, and to eliminate 85% of the world’s population. Their army is super-soldiers—viciously-trained from toddlers to adults to follow any order—based and hidden for years in the many FEMA camps spread throughout America. The war will begin in America. The American Minuteman must be defeated, for if America remains free she will continue setting the example for the rest of the world to fight and to keep fighting. The battlefield won’t be far away in some distant land, it will be fought right here among our homes and farms and businesses. It will be fought by people who carry their families with them, people who love their families and will die for them. The American military won’t be involved, but much of their massive armament will be. Book 1, New World Order Rising: The Abduction Carter Banks, 47, recruits his childhood friend (now ex-army special ops) to help track the abductors of his daughter, Chantal, and granddaughter, Dodie, and gets a hair-raising short course on the true goals of the Illuminati, composed of elite politicians, CEOs, and generals, in their quest to eliminate 85% of the world’s population and create a one-world government. Book 2, New World Order Rising: The New Civil War. Carter and his load of young girls rescued from the Satanist Illuminati (while avoiding the black-uniformed police) takes two weeks getting home from Kansas, to his sister’s farm, discovers she is militia leader of southeastern North Dakota, and learns North Dakota is the front line of resistance, among a group of states west of Interstate 29. Seven-year-old Jocelyn by proxy takes the place of the missing Dodie, and brings new life to the heartbroken Carter and Chantal. Look for Book 3, The Next Generation Fights On, in 2014

Received this through First Reads Giveaways. Hmmm... this book was really hard for me to get into. I think it is because it was second in a series, and I haven't read the first book. More than that, though... the writing style is unsophisticated and crude, and the plot really drags in places. The storyline, however, is pretty neat and original. I just wish the writing lived up to the idea of the story. :-/ I may see if I can't wrestle up the first book in the series, read it, and THEN try to re-r Received this through First Reads Giveaways.
