This book was amazing. What an impactful and eye opening testimony this was! I recommend any believer to read this. It will make you reevaluate your priorities, and shed light on the persecution other believers face in other countries - in this book the Muslim community.

You get to learn a lot about the life in a muslim country and how it is to grow up in war. You even get the chance to experience life from a religious person's point of you and get an understanding to why people believe in a higher power. I recommend this book to everybody!

Face to Face with Jesus is the testimony of Samaa Habib, a Christian who was born a Muslim in a predominantly Muslim country. She tells her story of her childhood, how she came to Christ, and her life after accepting Christ. And one day, two terrorists bombed her Church, temporarily killing her. It was then that she came 'Face to Face with Jesus'. She tells her story of her childhood, how she came to Christ, and her life after accepting Christ. And one day, two terrorists bombed her Church, temporarily killing her. It was then that she came 'Face to Face with Jesus'. But to me, the meat of the book started long before her near-death experience, and while this experience is wonderful, it's not the centre of the story. Nope, the centre of the story is how God is everywhere, even in the places where we least expect it. Consider this, Samaa's birth nearly killed her mother. She grew up during a civil war between Sunni and Shia muslims. But one day, during a free Taekwondo class, she hears the word of God. Something sparks within her that previous experiences haven't (she had attended an Orthodox Church before at the invitation of her friend). She begins to go to Church, and finally accepts Christ. And through her living testimony, she manages to bring her mother, her sisters and most of her family to Christ. And in turn, they are powerful testimony as they model God's love in a country that persecutes Christians, especially Muslim-turned-Christian believers, who are apostates in their eyes. Samaa's story was a good end-of-2014 book for me because it was a wake-up call. It is so easy to keep quiet when you're the minority, even if unlike Samaa, you don't face the threat of death for your faith. God has reminded me to be a loud and loving witness wherever I am. This book left me in awe and opened my eyes in more than one way. About a young Muslim girl who finds herself in the middle of her countries Civil War life is not easy. About a young Muslim girl who finds herself in the middle of her countries Civil War life is not easy. Sunni and Shia Muslims are at war with each other and many suffer. Prominent families lose their status and wealth. They have to burn their furniture to keep warm, and many die from the cold. Food is scarce and many kill wild dogs or worse just to eat. There are bread lines but they are often fruitless and citizens are told there is no more bread to give despite standing outside for hours. During one of these times in the bread line a commotion begins and an angry mob begins fighting. Gunshots are fired, people are trampled and Samaa finds herself praying to God. By some miracle she is spared when she could have been dead. More so they were lucky enough to get bread. Realizing that none of her prayers were ever answered by Allah Samaa starts realizing there is more to this God than she knows, and she yearns to know more. Craving Jesus she begins finding out more and more on Christianity. She finds herself at some of their services, she begins Tae Kwon Do classes taught by Christians, and she begins to absorb all the knowledge she can. With that knowledge comes an unshakable faith that Samaa did not quite expect, and the hold she has always carried within her closes up. Loving her new relationship with God she yearns to share His love with others, especially her family. Tentatively she starts spreading the news to others. Despite persecution, despite others throwing rocks at her, and her own family beating her Samaa does not give up. Slowly her loved ones begin transforming and Samaa realizes this is only the beginning of her journey. An explosion at her church where she was a victim goes further to prove her theory that there is much more for her to do for Jesus in the world. This book is not for the faint of heart. This is a real story of one young woman's harrowing experience in a land where freedom of religion is not accepted, and where all Christians are considered traitors. It is heart-breaking, heart-warming, and will send you on a roller coaster. It will leave you breathless and you cannot help but to sit at the edge of your seat. The difference between this book and many others is this is one young girl's TRUE accounting of what happened to her, her family, and her land. I was left awed by this book. I was encouraged by Samaa's unflinching faith and I believe every encounter she detailed in this book. It is sometimes hard for us to accept such strong emotions and miracles. Sometimes it is easy for our minds to shed doubt on such things because certain circumstances are incomprehensible to us. But for me I loved this story and am grateful it was shared. I just know this book will go on to change lives, and I am thankful to have had the chance to read it. I have been recommending this book left and right, and will continue to do so. It woke me up even further to a lot of the issues pressing on Christians in other countries. Samaa's story is one of courage, faith, love, hope, determination, and the strength of Jesus. It just goes to show when we have Jesus on our side anything is possible. Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy of this book from Chosen Books in exchange for my unbiased review. I won this on a Goodreads giveaway. It wasn't quite what I was expecting, it was even better. I thought it would be about a Muslim who died and met Jesus then became Christian. This girl had actually found Jesus before her death experience. She gradually tried to convert her large family. I was shocked and disturbed by the persecution from her own family. She suffered beatings from her brothers because they felt she as an "infidel". Despite all that, she continued to worship and feel Jesus speak I won this on a Goodreads giveaway. I found this book to be excellent and highly recommend it. Sadly, it ruined my view of the Muslim religion. Before I accepted that everyone has their own beliefs. but when your beliefs allow you to harm others that don't agree with you then I can't accept that.

This is a moving book of how God moved among a Muslim community to save a young girl and most of her family. She was raised in a country 98% Muslim and where radical considered conversion to Christianity worthy of a horrible death. She experienced many miracles and visions and now devotes her life to encouraging the church to pray that God would send workers to the harvest among Muslims. Due to the author's place of birth and religious background before her conversion to faith in Christ, there are many details in this book that are either vague or left out altogether. As a result, this autobiography is rather bland, in spite of the miraculous things that have happened to her. I have no doubt that everything is true, and I am sure hearing her speak in-person would be amazing. I had just hoped for more meat and potatoes in this book. An amazing story of God's love, leading, protection and provision. Samaa shares her story in bits and pieces, amazing pieces, kinda jumping back and forth in the timeline. This testimony is full of Scripture, as she has lived her life in obedience. My favorite part is how she tells of people's names and meanings, and lists a story of God's love and salvation through the names of our Forefathers. I enjoyed it though my interest started to wane. I was curious about which country the author was from. She never mentioned anything at all about her country, I couldn't help but get lost in this mystery, which I found to be very odd. I guess it swirled around too much in my mind while reading the book. I enjoyed it though my interest started to wane. I was curious about which country the author was from. This book certainly gives hope that God is alive and wants us to spread His promises if we will trust Him. The chapters are not chronological and so it makes a bit hard to follow at times. Once I realized this, I just read each chapter as a stand alone experience and began to examine my own faith walk. I definitely look at prayer and fasting differently as a result.

Given to me by a friend. At first Samaa's faith seemed simplistic, but later, I decided it was more of a child-like trust in God, and strong. The writing of this book was not particularly well done, but content was inspiring. Given to me by a friend. The details of these new believers were a little repetitive. From the first few pages – where she ‘ quickly grabs a pomegranate from a bowl on her way out (if you know a pomegranate, you will know it is not like any other fruit to just grab one and eat it on your way out) then to different timelines which were all over the place – then the multiple jobs and places – the most frustrating – the author talks about a civil war in a country somewhere in the middle east but fails to disclose what country it is. Overall the book fails to set a scene and connect with the reader. The author aims to show her deep love and devotion to God but it comes out as melodramatic.

This is an excellent, inspiring book. I thought it might be more about Samaa's experience with Christ, but it was more about what she did in obedience to Christ, which was fine. Samaa's story is definitely a wonderful testimony.

In this autobiography we read the story from a moslim woman who comes to faith in Jesus. The story is filled with miracles and healings, and recounts how through her faith and changed attitude she wins over most of her family to believe as well. It is encouraging to read her testimony and to see how through her faith, prayers and fasting, she persists and is able to reach out to many others wherever she goes, whether this is the fashion world of models, business, or a war torn country. Incredibly Powerful I do not even have words for how amazing this book was. Every step of the way, I was learning and growing in my own faith as I read about this young woman’s incredible journey. It was so incredible it was almost unbelievable. But I know the Lord works in very mysterious ways. What happened for her and her family is a true testament to God’s grace and provision. Thank you for sharing your story!

I found this to be a fascinating read of Samaa’s conversion and the life she faced in her home country growing up! She gives thorough detail throughout this book and i learned more about the culture that I hadn’t known before. As a believer, I was greatly intrigued by her personal encounter with Jesus! Just makes me even more excited to know Him more! Wonderful read!
