New York Times bestselling author Ben Shapiro presents a comprehensive case against Barack Obama’s abuses of power during his time in office. From the DOJ to the NSA, from the EPA to the Department of Health and Human Services, Barack Obama’s administration has become a labyrinth of corruption and overreach touching every aspect of Americans’ lives. The People vs. Barack Obama strips away the soft media picture of the Obama administration to reveal a regime motivated by pure, unbridled power and details how each scandal has led to dozens of instances of as-yet-unprosecuted counts of espionage, involuntary manslaughter, violation of internal revenue laws, bribery, and obstruction of justice. The story of the Obama administration is a story of abuse, corruption, and venality on the broadest scale ever to spring from the office of the presidency. President Obama may be the culmination of a century of government growth—but more important, he is the apotheosis of the imperial presidency. Obama chooses when to enforce immigration laws, delays his own Obamacare proposals when it is politically convenient to do so, micromanages the economy, attacks the Supreme Court, Congress, and the sovereign states. And he proclaims that he alone is the voice of the people while encroaching on their rights. In The People vs. Barack Obama, Ben Shapiro brings Obama into the people’s court and addresses each of his abuses of power.

A must read. Did you think that Obama was the cleanest man in the world despite being the top figure in the most corrupt sector in the world, the horrible game of politics? If you only followed mainstream media you probably did, this book uncovers shocking abuses of power by a man never held to account and still praised as the best thing to ever happen to the White House. Shapiro backs all his claims up with hard solid facts. It’s time somebody held Obama accountable.

I had heard the author on the Mark Levin podcast. I am not an Obama fan and do believe that he has committed impeachable offenses. The author cites seven actions that Obama has enacted that under the Constitution are impeachable offenses. There is documentation out the wazoo to substantiate his claims. Flows logically for me.

The difficulty most books of this nature have is defending against claims that it is just bias tilting events toward a particular agenda. Ben Shapiro clearly has an agenda, but it's on built on fact after fact. He provides sources for every claim, quote, and statistic. I am a fan of his writing and radio show because he simply doesn't delve into conjecture. I'm interested by the book, but I wonder if it's worth my time. Ben Shapiro tend to prefer righteousness over truth. It's not that I think that he's unable to make intelligent critique. It's just that his hubris tower over most of his analysis which in the end render them needlessly abrasive, divisive or non-sensical, or all three at the same time. While there are many books about the criminality of Obama & his administration, I find this to be the most clear and incisive of them all. Shapiro is an attorney and it certainly comes through in his writing.

The government is too big and corrupt. Those that should be held accountable for irreparable offenses aren't because they can easily pass the buck. The government is too big and corrupt. Before reading this book, I had a general sense that Obama and his administration were corrupt leftists. I'd heard about Benghazi, Fast and Furious, the IRS targetings, and bribaries, but I had no idea of the details or the scale of corruption that infected this charade of an administration. In fact, corruption is insufficient for what this man was in charge of. "Legalized crime syndicate" and "crime machine"are more fitting. There were times I had to put the book down and just cry at how disgusting and blatant many of the crimes were. There wasn't much separating us from a thuggish, Big Brother, Putin-style government (or worse). Obama is objectively the worst president in American history. Shapiro (who has a law background himself) presents a laundry list of water-tight cases for suing Obama and his administration. Read this book. Arm yourself with the facts of what big government is capable of.

Rightwing garbage. Ben Shapiro is a privileged snob. His contempt for working people and minorities is well known. I thought this was going to be a serious book about Obama's administration similar to something like a Bob Woodward book, but it is nothing more than rightwing hate radio on the written page. Stick to a genuine historian if you want to read about politics. And no, I am not a Democrat. Rightwing garbage. Ben Shapiro is a privileged snob. This book hits the sweet spot between explaining the complexities of legality while communicating a message in lay men's terms. Yet another amazing book by Ben Shapiro! Definitely something that you won’t find in any library because of its topic, although if you do, I would recommend picking it up. A compelling and moreish edict that has never had more relevance as Obama’s successor nears his end of his first term. Given the litany of Obama’s misdeeds, it is not wrong to say that Trump is a funhouse mirror reflection of Obama. Have rounded up from the 3.5 I would give as the book’s premise that Obama could be charged under the RICO act is shaky by Ben’s own admittance in his conclusion.

Unbelievable read I wish I could remember everything I read in this book. Words don't produce actions. Why is he still walking around? Why hasn't he been arrested? Has anyone on the left been arrested? No? All the reading and seeing the facts doesn't do a bit of good. Do something. Definitely recommend this book. Compelling Mr. Shapiro makes a compelling argument that President Obama was/is one of the most criminal, corrupt presidents ever. Benghazi, Fast and Furious, the Zimmerman case, DOJ and IRS interference, targeting his political enemies. Definitely a worthwhile read and it left me wondering what Obama’s defense would be.

As I was reading this book, I realized that I had vaguely heard of most of these scandals before. The scary part is that it was only vague recollection. I really had no idea the depth of each scandal in his office. It's funny that Obama says he had a scandal-free presidency (his wife also reiterates this frequently), when he actually had quite a few major scandals. The difference between his presidency versus a republican presidency is that the media gives far more coverage to Republican scandals As I was reading this book, I realized that I had vaguely heard of most of these scandals before. It's funny that Obama says he had a scandal-free presidency (his wife also reiterates this frequently), when he actually had quite a few major scandals. The difference between his presidency versus a republican presidency is that the media gives far more coverage to Republican scandals versus liberal scandals (there are usually scandals on both sides). Shapiro once again provides a very well researched book and makes his case against the Obama administration. Regardless of political party, these were some horrifying issues that occurred during his presidency and this book is a reminder that those in power need to be held accountable by the people (we know the media won't)! On a side note, I read Michelle Obama's memoir while also reading this book, and it was interesting reading both at the same time. You can see my review of her book to see my thoughts on that.

Shapiro makes an excellent case against the conduct of Obama during his time in office. Shapiro describes numerous legal violations that have taken place during Obama's time in office.
