The second book fared just as well as the first, and now I'm looking forward to the third in the series. I still can't believe I'm reading and enjoying a western story, but I'm not going to question it, but just stick around for the ride. Following a legend I enjoy the author's ability to emphasize virtuous character traits and noting that we all have more than one side to us. I enjoyed the action and historical accuracy incorporated into this fictional account of a family struggle. Reminiscent of the Sackett family novels written by Louis L'Amour. Good Read I really enjoyed this book. It was pretty much non stop action flowing smoothly from event to the other. It kept up with my morals and ethics. I'm getting a little tired of the books That I have to detail the sexual portions of them. This 1 left it up in the air As to what happened. I will now continue the series And start reading thunder book #3. Thank you Brad Good Read I really enjoyed this book. It was pretty much non stop action flowing smoothly from event to the other. Excellent Book I enjoyed this story because many face the battle of what people think they should do and what they want out of life. It is also hard to be in the shadow of anyone or to live with a mistake. Grace! And I love a good western story. The characters are great and the story is believable. Highly recommended.

Thoroughly enjoyed. Read for pleasure and relaxation, not to critique. Therefore it is my belief that reviews should be written by recognized critics and that the star system should be sufficient because reviews are simply the reflection of the reader.

Getting crowed in Montana. Fun to read about the different people moving West to Montana and other places in the west. Being the great grandson of one of those homesteads I have met my Great slowly Grandmother and she was GREAT.

Decent western but repetitive This is not a bad western but the author, I think, has been a bit too repetitive. I thoroughly enjoyed the first one and recapping it to make this a stand alone is ok but there are descriptions here that are used over and over. Eliminating these would make the story a out a hundred pages shorter.

Out Of The Shadows Another find episode of the McCabes. The McCabes are just the kind of men to settle the west or anywhere else. Tough, truthful, fair and treat women with respect. Oh and they don't mind to shoot a few bad guys. Great western reading. Looking forward to book 3. Out Of The Shadows Another find episode of the McCabes. I accidentally read this book first. I enjoyed it very much, though it has errors that are distracting for me. I enjoyed this so much that I found and purchased the entire series. I was a little disappointed with the entire series, but I enjoyed the McCabe family enough to read all the books in the series. This book brings Jack McCabe into the story. I believe he was mentioned in the first book, THE LONG TRAIL, but as he was away at college, his character didn't shine until this book. I like Jack I accidentally read this book first. I believe he was mentioned in the first book, THE LONG TRAIL, but as he was away at college, his character didn't shine until this book. I like Jack most, but he is mentioned the least throughout the series. In fact, in some books he is completely overlooked. In one of the later books, Jack's dad, Johnny McCabe, is asked how many sons he has. His answer is short by one, and reference is made to the other sons but not Jack. I found this aggravating, despite Jack being my favorite character.

The story of the McCabe's is entertaining but the repetition is getting old. The character background information is repeated way too much and there are some phrases that got old fast. I think the actual story is decent and I stayed with it because I skipped many of the things that were said over and over. It would benefit from an editor to fix the redundancy and correct the misspellings. The story of the McCabe's is entertaining but the repetition is getting old. Another very good Western. A must read if you like book about the West. I have read the first three books & have really enjoyed them all. Brad Dennison is going to be as good as Zane Grey at this rate.

Together with neighbors and families Really really good story. I found in this story neighbors bound together in life and death situations. A bond that doesn't exist in this day. I love the description of the fighting both physically and with weapons. Together with neighbors and families Really really good story.
