Has it's blindspots but is a great primary source for a fascinating account of early organizing and direct action in the newly visible post Stonewall era. Captures infighting around class and race. Up close accounts of direct actions against Mayor Lindsay and several other New York politicians and political clubs. Subplots involve the Dick Cavett Show, squatting in the basement of an NYU dormitory, resistance against police a Totally unexpected gem. Such an early account of gay liberation. 1971. Which is funny that there is still, in 2020, a prominent NYC gay and lesbian political and "progressive" club named after him. Totally recommend this book.
