Sweet romance I really enjoyed meeting Jake and his new bride. This author weaved a wonderful romance between these two with many twists and turns along the way. I look forward to the next story in the series.

This is a clean historical western romance short story. The heroine, Emily, joined her father and two brothers who robbed banks for a living after her mother died. She never approved of robbing banks, but they were the only family she had. Wounded after robbing the bank in Cactus Gap, a rancher finds her in his barn. He nurses her back to health and they fall in love. I didn't like the story jumping ahead in time. It seemed a lot was left unwritten, and the romance developed too quickly. Enjoyed this clean historical western romance. I particularly appreciate Ms. James' lead characters, in particular, the female lead, Emily. Ms. James's ability with developing multi-dimensional characters is asset to her writing. Likewise, the same is true with her use of descriptive language and dialog. This was okay. I had a little trouble with how quickly the rancher "hid" the evidence, though. He had no idea just what he was dealing with at the time. Just because it was a girl-not the man, that he'd thought at first-didn't mean she wasn't dangerous...Look at Bonnie(from Bonnie and Clyde). Once I got past that, though the story itself wasn't too bad. This was okay. I had a little trouble with how quickly the rancher "hid" the evidence, though. So predictable and unrealistic. He fell in love with her in record time and fixed all her problems. Not worth the 20 minutes it took to read it.
