And working as a decoy for vice only solidified her resolve, but now that Officer Sarcone has transferred to burglary division, all bets are off. When the department's top detectives are assigned to investigate a string of home invasions that are being orchestrated by an unknown crime syndicate, Det. Riley enlists the help of a few new recruits. Immediately, he and Lexie are drawn to one another, but the job must come first. A drunken evening and a few close calls inevitably force the two to admit they have an undeniable chemistry, but Lexie isn't sure if she can let someone get close to her again, especially someone with Michael's reputation. A solid 4 🌟. I liked the chemistry between the two main characters though the ending isn't what I thought it would be. It felt like things were far too easily wrapped up. May or may not continue this series. A solid 4 🌟. I liked the chemistry between the two main characters though the ending isn't what I thought it would be. I thought I needed a change from all the romance bordering on erotica and fantasy I've been reading lately (I don't think I even remember when I last picked up a crime mystery book) and decided to try this suspense/mystery freebie in hopes that I'll be intrigued all the way and that I'll find something really good. Unfortunately none of that happened. The mystery-suspense part of this book was pretty decent for the first 60% or so but then it kind of went downhill from there. I felt that there was way too much tell and way too little of show and with books like this I think I'd prefer more show and less tell. And the romance part? Bleh! I really don't get it. ... Well, okay I get that the heroine had to fall for the really handsome blue-eyed hero (because he's hot) but I don't understand the attraction. Oh, alright there may be some sexual attraction but to be honest I didn't even feel that. Way too much tell and way too little show - I don't even know how it's possible with these sex scenes Archer showed us, but somehow it is. I want to get to know them!!! And it doesn't necessarily have to include racy sex scenes. All in all, I don't think the story was balanced enough. There was a bit of mystery and a bit of romance but neither of the topics was told in enough detail for me to really like either of them. You can find this review and more on The Book Challengers

Enjoyable read. Loved the characters and the chemistry between the hero and heroine. Police presentation (officers, procedures, incidents, etc) seemed believable and realistic. Interested in reading more by this author.

Nice Easy Read Burglary Blue was just the ticket I was looking for. I want something that was a quick read but had enough meat to make me want more. This is the first in a 3 book series. There was a decent suspenseful story line but it had opportunity to be a bit more. I found Lexie and Micheal to be likable characters. The authors did a good job with making them real. I just hope the other stories allow them to grow and the suspense gets fattened up.

Maybe I would have given this one 3.5 stars if that were an option, but something about the entire story fell short. The suspense was just background matter that never really materialized, excluding one moment of excitement in the police station, and even that was blurred. Moreover, the plot is one that's been done a million times before with not much of a twist to add any uniqueness. We've all read about the office romance that is forbidden. Insufficient suspense for me. More sex than suspense by a mile. I guess I should have quit when it was very sexual initially, but writing pretty good so kept expecting more to happen. 2 star because it didn't satisfy me in terms of the genre it claimed to be. It was not bad but it was not pretty good either. I kind of found the hero a dick for awhile and that's saying a lot because the really bad boys are SO my type of book boyfriend. Not bad, good enough to move on to the next in the series. Michael and Lexie are somewhat engaging so they're worth a shot. Not bad, good enough to move on to the next in the series. Michael and Lexie are somewhat engaging so they're worth a shot.

This book is labeled ‘Romantic Suspense.’ There is a good deal of romance in it but not much suspense. The male and female leads spend a good portion of the book flirting, groping, and coming close to having sex, but the suspense is rare and short-lived and the danger nullified almost before it begins. It was a short book at 165 pages and it was free. That’s about the best I can say about it. So call it 1 ½ stars – did nothing for me. And that means I won’t be back for more.

A Female Officer In A Male World As I read through this delightful tale, I constantly saw my past work relations with women in a different way. Some things will never change, as I have always placed women on a pedestal a way. In truth, lots of fine people become law enforcement officers, and stay within a blue circle of friends.

I like the characters of Saracone and Riley but I wish the author had focused less on the actual sex scenes between them and more on the plot. Because of that, I most likely will not read any other books in this series.

Worth reading This was a good detective story that dealt more with the relationship growing between Michael and Lexie, than the robberies taking place. It was a fast read and while not very deep, it kept me interested and entertained. I'm ready for the next one! Good book A little too many sexist remarks and a woman officer who doesn't seem to know what she wants, but it was a good story and the characters weren't bad. I will read the second one.
