There is a lot going on in this story - from the Spanish Civil War to a flying scene in WW II and much drama in between. I enjoyed reading this book, the last of the series.

Today I am sharing the last novel in the House of Winslow series by Gilbert Morris. The White Knight wraps up this series which has forty novels in all. His life couldn’t be better with a Spanish sweetheart and enjoying time with her family. One day a raid by the Germans bomb the Spanish family that Luke is so fond of. Will he learn to heal from these wounds? While he makes it back to the states through an unlikely friend Luke is unable to heal. His brother thinks the answer is working for the family company, but is it really the path for Luke? Or could a ministry at Haven house hold the key for his future? My Thoughts: I am sad to bid farewell to a series that I have loved since I was a child. What would the last novel bring for me? I found the plot to be predictable. The kind of characters that Gilbert Morris creates has a way of standing out to the reader. What I loved about this novel is visiting with previous characters that I read about, in the series. This created a satisfactory ending!

Bittersweet to come to the end of the House of Winslow series - I've enjoyed reading all 40 books and trying to follow all the twists and turns of those Winslows that were written about. It was fun to have the family reunion in this book and talk and remember about previous Winslows that I've read about. Most of the stories ended right with a marriage proposal. This one, however, Luke actually married Joelle before the story was finished. Living during the depression and during the Spain Civil War and then the start of the World War II would have been hard times. I've enjoyed reading and putting myself back in time to what things would have been like if I had been alive then. I'm thankful to be born at this time period and have the life I do. A good book to me is being able to be lost in the pages of a book as if I were there. All these books were interesting enough to do that.

After a year of reading, I finished this last book of the series today. I have enjoyed reading this series and really hate to see it end. This series is definitely a must to read. I have passed my collection of 40 books to many friends and it has been loved by all.

This is the last book of the forty book series the House of Winslow. I plan to keep reading Gilbert Morris novels until I've read all. Definitely one of my favorite authors.
