Adrielle Pyper has moved to Sun Valley Idaho to pursue her lifelong dream of running her own business as a wedding planner. She had worked for a large and successful wedding planning company in San Francisco but after a life-altering incident she decides to start afresh closer to home. The story is narrated by Adrielle and we get a close up look at her thoughts and life. Adrielle is feisty and self confident and doesn’t mind saying exactly what she thinks. She is a perfectionist and puts her heart and soul into the weddings she plans; there is no time for boyfriends or romance. Her business partner, Lorea, is a dressmaker. She sells the wedding dresses whilst Adrielle plans the weddings. Lorea is fun, chirpy and a romantic at heart. She is always trying to get Adrielle to loosen up, have some fun and maybe give love a chance. Between planning the weddings of soap star Sylvia and Lorea’s good friend Natalie who is marrying the rich and famous Brock Grafton, who just so happens to be Sylvia’s ex, Arielle also gets herself mixed up in a diamond smuggling operation. Everyone is a suspect, from the old, friendly jeweller Walter Mayfield to Colton, the delivery guy, and the hot new lawyer in town, Luke. As we follow Adrielle on her hectic wedding planning schedule, trying to squeeze a few dates in with Dallas, the local real estate agent, and solve a stalker problem. The story makes for quite a few laughs, a little bit of romance and edge of your seat suspense. I loved the insight into just how much work a wedding planner does. I absolutely loved the craft and wedding decoration descriptions at the start of each chapter. Adrielle and her Mum have their own crafty blog which features in the story and which I’m happy to say is a real blog (Yes, I googled it!). www.mashedpotatoesandcrafts.com Diamond Rings are Deadly Things is a real page turner, a clean cozy crime/ mystery. Adrielle is a fun protagonist and the ending will have you holding your breath!!! The perfect start to a new ‘must read’ series for me. Content: no coarse language, no sex, minimal violence, a clean read.

As she is juggling the planning od two high profile, very expensive weddings, her shop of broken into and that brings out the sleuth in Adri. There is the local realtor that is persistently trying to date her. Her sights are set on a hottie that she keeps passing in the running trail. I know which one I am pulling for. First impressions are not always the best gauge of a person. The story was interesting. The thefts and other mysteries are confusing. Not so confusing that you can’t follow them, but the events that are happening do not always seem to be connected. As with a good mystery, it needs a dedicated sleuth. With the police looking into the theft and Adri trying to not have more dresses taken by the police she puts herself in jeopardy. She is a smart girl, but really Adri? While Adri keeps making bad decisions that are placing her in danger, her emotions and feelings are being tested to the limit. Her friend and co-worker is always supportive and understanding. Makes me want her to have her own story too. This is my first book in this series I enjoyed getting to know the characters. I am glad that there is a series do that I can follow them again. It is s cute book and very well written.

Diamond Rings are Deadly Things is a cute clean cozy mystery. I enjoyed that Rachelle kept us guessing and didn't give away too many clues too early in the story. Now all she has to do is make sure everything goes off without a hitch and ta dah, she's golden and on her way to many more happy customers. Cue ominous music...duh duh duh. Mystery, intrigue, scandalous stories, missing wedding dresses, a crazy diva, a divorce lawyer, a shy possible boyfriend, "the hottie" runner, diamond rings, stolen safes, a cemetery, photographs, a kitten, police officers, crafty ideas, stress, kissing, wedding coordinator extraordinaire, amazing seamstress/business partner, nightmares, cold case, family, friends, fried pickles and oh so much more is contained within these pages. The title is Perfect for this book. I love all the meanings behind it. You'll have to read to understand because no spoilers from me ;-) Adri is not one to take no for an answer, especially when someone decides to come in and mess with her hard work and business. When merchandise ends up missing and she finds some strange goings ons around her, as well as some pretty strange items in a dress, Adri isn't going to let any of it affect her two major weddings about to occur. Can she give the police just enough info to keep them satisfied, get back her possessions, and figure out what all these clues combined together mean. Why do these recurring nightmares keep happening? Are they connected or is she still suffering from the trauma that occurred a year ago. How does she handle all these new men in her life? Can she trust anybody in her town, what about in her acquaintances? I loved all the fun wedding aspects of this book, all the fun crafty/wedding craft tips, all the clues looming for us to see, yet not see. Oh I was all over the place trying to figure out the mystery. I was sure it was one person then would say no way could it be that person, it's this person...nope, it's that person. Oh I seriously kept coming up with all kinds of ideas of what was happening and who was involved and how it would all turn our. Yes I was right about who it was(only because I switched who I suspected lots-lol). I will say that at the beginning I was a little confused with some of the references Adri would make about something, but I didn't know or understand what that something was. If you're like me be patient because it is all slowly revealed and part of the plot. I enjoy a good mystery, especially one that has me guessing constantly who the bad guy is. If you're also looking for a little romance and spice to go with the mystery, there was plenty of that with several prospects that Adri was trying to figure out. This is part of a series with books 2 and 3 already released. I'm not sure if there will be more books or not. I will say I have already started the second book and am hooked on this series. It's been a fun diverting read. Content: kissing, a murder, attempted murder and an attack. I'd say it's a clean read and would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves a good murder/mystery series. Happy Reading!!!

I've read other books by this author and I think she does a really good job with the genre. Adri has issues from her past that make it hard to deal with life at times, but I love the way she throws herself into her work and into her crafting website, www.mashedpotatoesandcrafts.com. Each chapter begins with a wedding tip from the website and I enjoyed so many of them so much, I actually got onto my computer and checked to see if this is a real website...and it is!! Adri is such an organized and stable character. She's also real. When placed in dangerous situations, her reactions seem very true to how a "normal" everyday person would react. I loved the friendship that she had with her partner, Lorea. The way they handled the resident diva, Sylvia, was great. Of course, there is a love triangle element and I found myself trying to decide which guy I wanted to root for...right along with Adri. Luke is her rival of sorts, but is very good-looking. Dallas is also good-looking, yet he seems a little on the shy side. Such a hard decision! The mystery was quite mysterious and not one that I figured out--I was guessing throughout. I was suspicious of everyone! I loved the romantic elements, of course. It sounds like this is going to be a series and I can't wait to find out what comes next! Content: nothing really to note as far as violence and language; some kissing, but totally clean! *I received a copy in exchange for an honest review*

I ended up reading this book to my husband while we drove and we LOVED it! We both got into it right away. The characters were fun, the writing flawless, and the mystery intriguing enough that when we stopped for gas or lunch we found ourselves talking about our latest theories and predictions. It was equal parts humorous, suspenseful, and romantic. Rachelle's descriptions of the setting, Sun Valley, Idaho, make it sound like the perfect place for a visit. I could picture everything. I loved the addition of the real blog, Mashed Potatoes and Crafts, that Rachelle has set up to coordinate with the book. It's genius and gives you photos and step-by-step instructions for the crafts and recipes described at the beginning of each chapter. And as a bonus, it makes the plot line seem that much more real. The only bad thing? We finished our drive before we finished the book and my husband wouldn't let me read on without him. It was a good thing we had another long drive scheduled a few days later so we could finish it! Diamond Rings was the perfect read for vacation!

I have been patiently waiting for the day I got to read this book. I was sent an ARC copy in the mail and it has just been sitting there, staring at me, waiting, until I could read it. It’s much easier to ignore ebooks than print books. :) Rachelle Christensen is a writer I always enjoy. She has an easy reading style with good flow and good characters. I know lots of people like mystery books where they are completely surprised by “who done it”. That’s not me. I really like figuring out who the bad guy is. It makes me feel smart. Haha. Even though I know that was the author’s intent, to let me figure it out, I still like it. In the beginning, I did suspect everyone of being involved somehow- the delivery driver, the jeweler neighbor, the boyfriend, everyone. It was awesome. At first I was a bit confused because it was feeling like I missed a previous story or something. But slowly things unfolded and I had a back story within a story. It’s obvious that the main character, Adri, has struggled through some awful things. She is fighting every day to keep moving forward and capture her dreams. As a reader, it gave me an instant sort of bond for Adri. She was someone that I wanted to succeed. She also has an awesome friend working with her and excellent family support. Adri is a character I was rooting for from the beginning. This is a light suspense/mystery book with some romance. It was clean (YAY!!) and provided that feeling of escape that I love finding in a book.

I know that she is amazing at character development and setting a quick pace. This book lived up to my expectations. Adrielle Pyper is an entrepreneur. She recently opened her own wedding planning business. To start things off she has two high profile weddings. They take up a huge chunk of her time and help her cope with the murder of her best friend. Adri and her partner, Lorea, add wedding dresses to their services. The first shipment is vandalized and the mystery begins! Adri has an inquisitive mind and a strong will to have her business succeed. These two driving forces propel her into situations where pieces began to fit together and she uncovers the mystery. There is a little bit of romance in the story. Adri has a lot on her mind and plate, she has a hard time finding the time to pursue a relationship. There are two potential romantic interests, but it's not a love triangle. Adri isn't a person to play games and is, for the most part, upfront about her feelings and intentions. The book has some surprising twists and turns that kept me reading. I was very happy with the outcome of the book and hope that there will be more "Wedding Planner Mystery's" in the future.

I found this book to be a good, clean mystery, with a bit of romance and murder thrown in. The story revolves around a busy Wedding Planner, Adrielle Pyper, who is trying to escape her past, where her best friend was murdered. She has moved to Idaho, her home state, within a hour or so of her parents, to begin over. Getting a new business started is never easy, and in the beginning of the book, things are looking bright. I enjoyed reading this book, but some parts were a bit wordy, and long. Big coincidence how everything falls into place, but it does have some good secrets here. I've been looking forward to reading this book since I participated in the cover reveal in April. I really needed to read a book like this! It was fun, with just enough mystery to keep me guessing the whole time. Adrielle Pyper (Adri) is a wedding planner. She's just moved to Sun Valley, Idaho, from San Francisco, shortly after her best friend was murdered three days before her wedding. She and her assistant, Lorea, have recently started carrying wedding gowns. They are currently working with two brides--the bridezilla, Sylvia, a soap star diva, and Natalie, Lorea's best friend who is sweet and engaged to Sylvia's ex-boyfriend, Brock, a movie star. They start out receiving their first shipment of gowns and Sylvia's alternate gown is missing and it looks like their shipment was tampered with. They know Sylvia won't take the news well and plan to convince her to go with her first choice. Adri takes Natalie's dress home to take out the hem and finds something that shouldn't be there. She's nervous about it and not sure what to do since she needs the dress for Natalie's wedding. Adri is interested in Dallas, who had waited on her table when she went to dinner with Lorea. He asked her out and they had a great time. Then, she meets Luke Stetson, a gorgeous, Harley riding attorney who is set against marriage. And then there's the hottie who she's never met but sees when she goes for a run. Dallas starts pursuing her and he seems absolutely perfect, but why can't she get the other men off her mind? There's a lot going on in this book, and I loved how everything came together in the end. I would forget about one certain storyline and then it would appear again and bring up more questions. I liked Dallas until we met Luke. Her conversations with Luke were much more entertaining, but I also could see why someone like Dallas would appeal to her. He was attentive, persistent and bold. Luke didn't say anything good about her profession and kept his true identity from her so she wasn't sure she could trust him. Both Dallas and Luke kept appearing and I knew who I liked better but wasn't sure which one she would choose until the end. It then became very clear as to who she should end up with and I was very happy with the ending. It was satisfactory but also leaves an opening for more! Each chapter starts with a tip from Adri's website, www.mashedpotatoesandcrafts.com. There are ideas on the ring pillow, place cards, food, centerpieces, the sendoff and much more. Most of the tips she gave at the beginning were incorporated into the chapter. Be sure to check it out--there are tutorials and recipes with some great step-by-step pictures. The tips can be used for much more than just weddings. I love it! Mel's Shelves

Adri has a two brides she is planning weddings for and one is Sylvia and she is a bridezilla, The other is Natalie, Lorea's friend, and she is super sweet. It's fun to see the differences. I could honestly not understand why anyone would be a bridezilla. It's so sad. No one likes mean girls. When they get their first shipment of dresses there is already a problem. Some are missing, and one has a rip in it. Adri takes one home to take out the hem for Lorea and she finds a surprise in the hem of the dress. One that she is sure that dangerous people are after. Instead of calling the police right away she hides what she has found, and the worlds gets a little more dangerous for her after that. There is something in Adri's past that has kept her closed off from others for a while. That is until Lorea convinces her to go out with someone. Lorea decides to go out on a date with Dallas, a man she had gone out once before with. She is so happy that she decided to go out again. She also has a mysterious hottie that she has been seeing on her runs. A new lawyer rolls into town by the name of Luke Stetson. Okay, how can you not love the name Stetson. Hello! Luke and Adri don't really hit it off right away. Luke is a total cynic when it comes to marriage. Luke is handling Natalie and Brock's prenup. Luke seems to be showing up everywhere now along with Dallas. I loved this story. There is so much going on and I love how it connects in the end. Again, I thought I knew who the bad guy was. Then I thought there might be more than one bad guy. There is a lot going on in this story. There is the wedding planning, the mysterious package in the dress, and then there is Adri's past. There is so much to love about this book!!! If you like mystery, and romance then this is a great book for you. I loved how every chapter had a cute wedding themed dish, craft, etc. There are some in the book I plan on using for a nephew that is getting married soon. She has her own business, Adrielle Pyper's Dream Weddings, and she and her mom have a website, www.mashedpotatoesandcrafts.com, where they post wedding planning ideas and her mom's craft how-to's. She's just expanded her business to include wedding dresses, but when the first shipment comes in one of the dresses is missing and another is damaged. An unexpected surprise turns up in one of the dresses, then the store is broken into and several of the new wedding dresses are stolen, along with the office's floor safe! What is going on?! Adri's got two celebrity weddings coming up in just a couple of months--she doesn't have time to be sidelined (or sidetracked) by all of the weird things that are happening. I don't see how Adrielle held it together--between the strange things going on with the wedding dress shipment, the store being burglarized, threatening notes, a diva/bridezilla on the rampage, trying to figure out what's going on, she still had to plan two important weddings, and she's trying to figure out which guy she's really attracted to. I changed my mind several times on who the guilty person was. Not to spoil anything, but some of the things that happened aren't related to the others. Hmm. I was totally surprised by the ending and how it connected to why she moved to Sun Valley, Idaho. I love that she adopted the stray kitten and how he ends up saving her and helping to catch the guilty party. The wedding and craft ideas at the beginning of each chapter are fun and I saved some of them. Rachelle Christensen does a great job keeping the suspense going throughout the book and keeping you guessing who did it. I look forward to reading the other 2 books in this series.

What an exciting thing can result from mixing a wedding planner and mysteries. In Diamond Rings are Deadly Things you will find a tale with interesting twists and some kisses. I like the pace of the story and enjoy the clean "who done it" feeling throughout the tale. The plot was simple, the delivery perfect and the romance warm. It provides a great combination for those who like murder mysteries and weddings. The ending will surprise you, even when you try to guess it. All seems to be great as they have two very wealthy couples' weddings that will give their new business the push they need to start on the right foot. That is until bridezila's wedding dress is robbed from their store and now they face bankruptcy. Adri, without knowing it, gets stuck between a smugglers racket and a crazy stocker, without even mentioning her best friend's killer. Readers will be pleased with the tale and enjoy some free tips for party favors or decorations. All in all, Diamond Rings are Deadly Things is a wonderful story.

This book was amazing! Honestly it keeps you on the edge of your seat with every twist of event! As a fan of mystery and suspense this book was incredible. It starts a little slow but just stick with it because as soon as it picks up, you won't be able to put it down! I recommend this book to anyone who loves a good mystery book! The only reason I gave it a 4 out of 5 was because of the slow beginning but in the end it was definitely worth the read! This book was amazing! I enjoyed the book quite a bit. I don't know if I had heard of a "Cozy Mystery" before, but I definitely liked it. I enjoyed the characters, and just when I thought I had the mystery figured out, there would be a new twist. I loved the little tips and recipes at the beginning of each chapter. After putting the kids down for bed this was a great, easy book to settle down and read in my spare time. It was a nice distraction from life and had a lot of fun twists and suspense. This is the first time I've ever heard of books like this referred to as a "cozy mystery" but I can't wait to find more! This a book my granddaughter chose to read and I decided to give it a try. It was cute, suspenseful, and a quick read. Perfect for the past two rainy days we've had. Adri's a wedding planner with a new business, and an unresolved crime against her best friend in her recent past. When odd things start happening, she keeps a level head. I love how she has a lot of support from her family and coworker, and the rest of the community (though she's not really sure who to trust). This kept me guessing until the climax, and the resolution was satisfying. Adri's a wedding planner with a new business, and an unresolved crime against her best friend in her recent past. Mysterious thefts, smuggled diamonds and murder. I really liked this book. The mystery is very well written with twists and turns and just enough foreshadowing. Adri, the wedding planner and heroine, has a sad past but also has lots of support from friends and family. Adri's potential suitors are three dimensional and complete. When I first signed up for this I wasn’t sure what to expect. It sounded fun and interesting. A light cute mystery. One my mom always says to give a whirl. So I gave it a shot. I was glad I did. This was just what I needed. A fun mystery that had just the amount of romance, light moments combined with those heavy times as well while it entertained you and you didn’t need to try to infer what was happening or figure it out. The story just flowed and kept you in the moment without taxing you. You When I first signed up for this I wasn’t sure what to expect. It sounded fun and interesting. A light cute mystery. A fun mystery that had just the amount of romance, light moments combined with those heavy times as well while it entertained you and you didn’t need to try to infer what was happening or figure it out. The story just flowed and kept you in the moment without taxing you. You get entertained watching Adri and Lorea deal with Bridezilla Syliva and her antics, intrigued by the mystery of the dresses and their connection to the robbery of them and the stalking of Adri, entertained by Luke and his struggling feeling over Adri as she tries to cope with hers for him and her dating life in general, the mystery of her best friends death Briette and how it relates to Adri and her actions in this book, and the romance of Dallas and Adri and how off it felt from the beginning. The plot twists that surround the wedding dresses, Adri’s love life and her playing detective are great and help keep you intrigued. Each chapter gives you some fun craft tidbits but also gives you a entertaining moment in the book. You see how things play out and feel the excitement for the planning of a wedding, to the mystery of the dresses and the danger that Adri is in. But there isn’t a heaviness to the story. Ms. Christensen has written this so that you really are just being entertained instead of feeling bogged down or like you are being brought in to many directions at once. You are just kept in the moment and not really allowed to wander and try to ponder things to much. The book allows you to keep your mind from wandering and has you in each moment without being too heavy in its emotions or descriptions but just enough to have you right there with each action, moment and twist. The characters are written in a way that they will keep you intrigued and wanting to find out more about them. Luke is the one that captures me the most. I do want to know more about that hottie as Adri calls him and I hope that he and Adri do find happiness together. Dallas gave me the creep factour and Sylvia was perfectly written as a bridezilla and just spoiled and jealous person. Lorea and Colton you just smile and shake your head at. A wonderfully light and entertaining mystery that will keep you on your toes and excited to find out who stole the dresses, why and what will be next in adventures for Adri and her friends and family.
