Can Kate prevent the jealousy, intrigue and murder of Rookery's past from damaging herself and her family now? Reader Reviews An excellent read! I was gripped from the first few pages and you basically get two stories in one. The main plot is set in the present day but woven through this is a mystery from the past, both are equally enthralling and involve strong women characters and a well researched history of smuggling in the Isle of Wight. I was completely wrapped up with the characters, especially fiery Catherine who for me is the main heroine throughout the novel. Dark Rook definitely took me on a journey of twists and turns, reaching a climactic crescendo. I wholeheartedly recommend this murder mystery novel - a brilliant read for a lazy Sunday or on holiday.
