I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Sabine is still close to her former brother- in-law and when he asked her to do him a favor by participating in a charity fundraiser Sabine goes along. It seems there is to be a bachelor auction and Sabine is to rescue a man named Todd by bidding on him . Sabine is under the impression Todd is gay and is only participating in the auction because of his company and because he still hasn't fully disclosed his sexual preference. But, the joke is on Sabine when she bids on Todd only to discover she bought the wrong Todd. Todd is a Hawaiian native and a celebrity TV chef. He's hot stuff and is sought after for his looks and fame. But, Todd is tired of all that and wants a woman that likes him for who he is really is, not the celebrity persona. After the infamous auction, Todd discovers Sabine's motives for buying him and so they know where they stand right from the start. That doesn't stop Todd from planning Sabine a wonderful home cooked meal. What Sabine discovers is that Todd is really a nice down to earth guy and she finds she is very attracted to him and not just because he looks like sex on a stick. So, what's the problem? Well, Sabine's ex-husband cheated on her and then before the ink was dry on the divorce papers he had already remarried. With two children in college and staring straight at the big 4 0 , and like most of us in real life, there are few extra pounds around the mid- section, Sabine's confidence isn't very high and she's just not sure she is ready to date at all, much less date someone younger than her and famous to boot. As the media pounces on the romance, Todd and Sabine try to keep things low key, but Todd is getting serious about Sabine. Will Sabine be ready to make a commitment on the same level as Todd or will her insecurities prevent her from taking a second chance on love? This novel is short and sweet, a great way to end the day or pass your lunch hour with. A feel good story with real romance . There are steamy moments too, but there is real depth and feeling in Todd and Sabine's relationship. They both know they have found the right person for them and even if there are a few lingering moments of doubt these two will have their happy ever after. This one gets a 3.5 rounded to 4.

I really love your writing style, ms McDonald. read a few of you books and I do love it. in this book, the way each reacted to a situation was as described, like high school. but we all act so in relationships. the chemistry and banter were fun. if these two appear in any other books it would be lovely to see them again.

Funny basis for a story that turns out to be hilarious! Thought Sabine was just a bit too intense and could use some easing up on herself but it all worked for the story. Same with "Todd". Friends were hilarious, family too (!), and really enjoyed reading it.

This is a great love story. Congratulations Donna. It is a story of Koka a tv chef personality and Sabine who works for an ad agency. Koka also goes by Todd for his show. Sabine binds on him at an auction thinking he is the man her gay friend, Joe, wanted her too. After she wins Todd her friend shows and tells her that was the wrong Todd. This is such a great story and you will have to read it to see what happens.

REALLY NICE STORY!!! LOVED this book. Loved that they were older than the usual romance couple. Liked very much the bit of a lesson in this book about self-love and not allowing others to strip you of your self-esteem. This was such a sexy book...with lots and lots of heart! The hero is the perfect man any woman would want to have in her life..... The book has very little angst and lots of humor and laughter! I also like books that don't cut off abruptly making you feel like "where's the rest?". REALLY NICE STORY!!! LOVED this book. Loved that they were older than the usual romance couple. This is the first book I have read by this author but I am sure it won't be the last. If you are looking for a nice pleasant read that is super romantic, very steamy, filled with love and support of every kind give this a try you will end up with a satisfied smile on your face.

Not sweet, but a very good story This is a very funny, romantic book, and although I prefer sweet romances to sweet ones, I really did enjoy reading this one. This one struck me as being different. Great different! There's lots of humour, love and food. There is also a lot of truth in The Wrong Todd. We as a society tend to feel we need to be a certain size, and if you don't conform, you are wrong and often ridiculed. Sabine offers to do a favour for her gay best friend, and go to an auction for charity to "win" Todd for him. Who would guess there would be two! I am evidently the only person in the universe who thought this book's plot dragged way too much. The characters came across as funny and likable. But, for me the plot could have been completed in a chapter or two. The premise is a nice one. I liked the idea of a woman who needed an ego boost because of her ex-husband. But, basically, it could have all been done as a very short story.

I submitted this review after listening to the audiobook of this title. A woman, doing a favor for her (ex) brother in law, places a humongous bid on a guy named Todd, at a charity auction. Only it's the wrong guy. The story doesn't end there, and it's a great tale, which shows we should not tell a person by their appearance.

This book will make you smile. I loved that the characters were mature in age with their own histories and insecurities yet were able to help each other to grow. This book is funny, heartwarming, and relatable.

Good light read, heroine was badly treated by her ex but at least he had a lovely brother. The hero is a bit too alpha for my taste but it works as a story.

THE WRONG TODD by Donna McDonald is romantic, funny, serious, heartwarming, and written in a very realistic way. He knew she was the woman for him and wasn’t afraid to prove himself to her… or wait until she was ready to accept his attentions. The story made me laugh and cry, easily catching me up in the emotional struggles of the characters. The narrator was very good and the story excellent. I liked it so much I’ve listened to it three times already. 4.5 stars.

Sabine Blakeman will do about anything for her best friend. She never imagined she would be bidding on bachelor’s at an auction to try and win a guy named Todd for said friend. I won this from Goodreads first read givaway. An autographed copy I'll read more than once. what a fun book to read. this is a story of Sabine and Koka falling in love and showing it's what's inside a person that's important. Not whether or not a person has a perfect body. I applaud the author for making this overweight reader feel wonderful, and I thank you for a fun romance story that made me laugh. I would love to see a book about the right Todd and Joe. lovable characters in their own rights. I won this from Goodreads first read givaway. And I thought I loved this book in print then I listened to the audio version of this terrific story. I loved hearing all the Hawaiian talk in this book so much better now that I really know what it sounds like. If you like great books to listen to on audio you will not be disappointed. Donna is one of my favorite authors and her narrator does an outstanding job of bringing them to life while I listen. And while its a cute and funny story there is actually a good message

It seems to me that every time I read one of Donna McDonalds books I can't help but have a laugh. In my opinion it's needed in between all the serious stuff. It makes it all the more enjoyable, especially when reading Kako and Sabines story. Their initial meet is original in itself and their developing relationship is a story that many mature people will relate to.

I adored this story. It was really nice to see two protagonists that were on the more mature side. Also wonderful to see, she was older (okay not by much but nice to see it the other way around!) This was a fast read for me as I could hardly put it down once I started it. I would highly recommend it.

Love the story though I have to say Sabine was getting in my nerves. The 3stars is just because of her character. She annoyed me to no end. Now Koka was just lovely. Moody or not I liked him a lot. Now, would be nice if the cover of the book looked more like the characters of the book :))
