When I started reading this book I was getting wrecked on Fightcade, and was too scared to accept challenges from players with hundreds of hours. After reading, and many hours of practice later, I’m confident with my gameplay, grabbing occasional wins from players with 10x my hours, and most importantly I’m having a blast. This book is good!

I won a few games of Street Fighter II at the arcade as a young 'un. It was my arcade favorite. I got my butt kicked in some new ways when I started playing SFV a few weeks ago. This book is a great resource if you want to jump into Street Fighter or just learn about how fighting games are played at a level beyond button mashing. Practice makes perfect and the lessons in this book will help you practice with the right mindset. I won a few games of Street Fighter II at the arcade as a young 'un. It was my arcade favorite. Fun and informative. Too bad you can read this book without doing the "homework." A deluxe edition that came with a licensed netplay game (and the resurgence of the local arcade scene, why not?) would have been ideal, but obviously it's not the author's fault. Fun and informative. From my perspective it's a 1 star book, I already knew everything in it :( I guess it could be a nice reading for newbies, but some videos are probably better From my perspective it's a 1 star book, I already knew everything in it :( I guess it could be a nice reading for newbies, but some videos are probably better

Started this book after two years of play and there was a lot of good information in it. This is a great guide for brand new players and a good refresher for old players. Quick read and worth it.
