5++ Added to my FAVORITES! [image error] Even though I have three male characters here, it is NOT a love triangle. Oliver is Skye's twin brother which I just need to include him. Thomas and Curtis make up for the rest of this story as well. You will just have to read to find out how everyone fits. I have no words to describe this book. I could never do it justice no matter how hard I try. This story covers a time span from 2002 up until 2014 then ends with a major cliffhanger. Twins being raised 5++ Added to my FAVORITES! [image error] Even though I have three male characters here, it is NOT a love triangle. Oliver is Skye's twin brother which I just need to include him. I could never do it justice no matter how hard I try. This story covers a time span from 2002 up until 2014 then ends with a major cliffhanger. Twins being raised basically alone, having only each other. Yes the mother is present, the father split and she doesn't provide for them, they provide for her. Only nineteen and they share the same room. Each one works two jobs to feed, clothe, and shower. Remaining goes to their mothers habits but they decide to start hiding money to save up to get out of the house together, just like their older sister Beth did two years prior. Oliver invites Skye to a New Years Eve party and that's when she meets Cut Throat Curtis. After celebration they go home. The next morning Oliver is gone before she wakes. She decides to go looking for him and accompanies Curtis in meeting up with Oliver. I could have stopped it...If I'd have just opened my eyes, I could have stopped it... After a major heartbreaking occurrence, which stole my breath, I had to stop reading this. It will pull you in and keep you hooked! So I start back up and I spend some time with Curtis and Skye who have became really good friends and hardly spend time apart. Twins. You're born together, you grow together, you learn together. You laugh together, you cry together... you fight together. Eventually Skye at twenty five years old meets one of the most amazing men ever, (my opinion) Thomas, thirty five years of age. They carry on as a couple for years. The love that man had for her! He me grinning like a fool almost every time he opened his sweet/dirty mouth! "You're wet for me already," he breathed and turned to look out the window. "I can smell your sweet nectar. I imagine it trickling from you, waiting for me to lap it up." ~~THOMAS Tick-tock,tick-tock-tick-tock-tick-tock. January 2011 Life is the best it can be until life throws Skye another curveball and I'm devastated all over again. That was my last update the other night. I HAD TO STOP! I just resumed this morning and starting book two. Where does one find strength during that? My life felt like it was crumbling! One of those books you feel it's realness and it's as if it's happening to you? Yeah, this is that kind.

Survival by Rebecca Sherwin I was lucky to have an ARC of this book, and I'm so glad I read it. This book is freaking fabulous I loved every minute of it. Skye had a wonderful life. It was hard living, moving from a wonderful house in a cul-de-sac to a two bedroom flat in a tower block and at 19 having to share a room with her twin brother this was not the life Skye wanted and neither did her brother. Skye's life is about to become very lonely, can she learn to fight? Will fate give her a break or will it leave her to survive alone? This book is intense, emotional and heartbreaking. Skye goes through some shit in her life, but this book keeps you wanting to turn every page. I could not put it down I just wanted more and more and was completely gutted when I got to the end. 5*****

Heart Wrenchingly beautiful! Rebecca Sherwin is an amazingly talented writer who can convey character's true to life emotions and make the reader experience every moment of the story as he flips frantically through the pages till the wee hours of the night. I remember reading her debut novel Second Chance Hero and having the feeling of a warm, salty ocean breeze on my skin all along. Survival leaves a completely different feeling; one of gut wrenching heartache but also one of hope. Skye Jones is Heart Wrenchingly beautiful! Skye Jones is a strong female character and it’s something I really like in a story. She doesn’t revel in self pity when her world collapses more than once; she fights back, no matter how hard it is and she survives. I really enjoyed to be part of her journey so far, even if it isn’t an easy ride. I’m eager to read the sequel, Revival, to get Curtis’ point of view because he remains quite an elusive character through the first book. We know he has a dark past, we can suppose he’s probably as afraid of losing Skye as she is of being alone, yet he pushes her away to live a life he probably thinks he won’t be able to give her. A few years later, Thomas brings magic into Skye’s methodically controlled universe and shows her that true love is possible. The chemistry between them is off the charts and we can really feel their love and passion for each other. She grows with him and learns to overcome some of the demons that still haunt her most secret thoughts. It was the perfect recipe for a happily ever after... till fate bites back. The writing makes you experience the events of Skye's life as if you were in her skin. This book is a must read, it’s different, unexpected and the story will stay with you long after you’ve put it down. Keep writing, Ms Sherwin!

I have read this author’s first novel, which I loved and so was very excited to read this. All I can say is WOW!!! Once again, she did not disappoint! From the first page, this had me feeling all sorts of emotions…anxiety, pity and anger! As the story progresses, you feel ALL the feels, until all of a sudden you feel like you have just taken a bullet! Hot and sexy as hell but with a beautiful soul, he is the one thing Skye never knew she always wanted. This has become one of my new favourite books and one of the best I have read. It is HIGHLY recommended. I give this five stars only because I can’t give it more! **I WAS GIVEN AN ARC IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW**

Apparently, per usual, I'm in the minority but I didn't enjoy what I managed to read of this. I felt like I was dropped closer to the middle of the story than the beginning. Second, she is constantly talking about how close they are...hell they sleep in the same bedroom and yet she somehow misses that he's a roided up fighter? even the best fighter is gonna have marks on him. finally the tragic twist regarding him was not even a little realistic. though fighting is not without its dangers what happened was overly extreme especially given the description. Also I didn't even get a chance to catch up from not getting a real beginning and crazy things just happened rapid fire. I was lost and not particularly enjoying it anyways so I just called it a dnf

The characters were well cared for, with perfectly and cautiously traced back storylines, and a very tasteful and sharp story telling from Rebecca Sherwin. It will leave you craving for more, even as "twisted" as it is, and trust me there will be more, but first you have to delve into the lives of Skye and her family, Thomas and Curtis. You will also most certainly fall in lust with some of the men in this story, guaranteed. I promise you might get frustrated and even hate some of the characters, but you will certainly fall in love with this story created by the impeccable writer that is Rebecca Sherwin

This is my first read by this author and I totally loved it. I found this to be a beautiful and emotional story. I thought the author portrayed the characters really well. They came across as real to me which I loved. My heart bled for Skye. This is the second book in a row that I've read and thought seriously how much more bad luck can a character take. Thankfully Skye is a strong character. Great storyline. I'm looking forward to jumping into book two. Loved it. This is my first read by this author and I totally loved it. When I was first approached about reading Survival I was only given the first few chapters of an unfinished manuscript. Realizing that it was a book about boxing, I approached it with no small amount of trepidation. I'm not a fan of men hitting each other for sport, and as a nurse, I've never understood the attraction. Having said that, from the moment I started reading, I didn't want to stop. Realizing that it was a book about boxing, I approached it with no small amount of trepidation. I'm not a fan of men hitting each other for sport, and as a nurse, I've never understood the attraction. Having said that, from the moment I started reading, I didn't want to stop. I could see the beginning of an incredibly powerful story, and I knew I had to follow it wherever it went. Having read it many times since then, I can say without hesitation that it is utterly unforgettable; a soul-stirring, often heart-wrenching journey of one woman's struggle to survive when all seems lost - irretrievably lost. As difficult as it can be to travel this road with Skye Jones, it is well worth it. Told from her point of view, it's as if you are walking beside her, experiencing it all. "Twins. You're born together, you grow together, you learn together. You laugh together, you cry together ... you fight together. And then what?" Skye and Oliver Jones were born moments apart. Inseparable, they encouraged and supported each other when their comfortable childhood slipped away, replaced by traumatic teen years ~ a family torn apart. They dreamed of escape, planned for it, saved for it. He was her rock, her shelter, her reason for living. And then he was gone, his secret life in the ring exposed, his young life tragically ended. When Skye had no one else, Oliver's friend and boxing mentor, "Cutthroat Curtis," stepped up to help her come to terms with her loss. A dark man with his own secrets - a man she knew would also someday leave her - Curtis offered a level of safety, comfort and release she couldn't find elsewhere. And then he walked away. Flash forward. Enter Thomas, a beautiful, sensitive, drop-dead sexy lover who turns her life around in a heartbeat. They share a relationship most of us can only dream of. Thomas becomes the new constant, bringing out the best in Skye - helping her feel, helping her heal, helping her find her strength and even more important, giving her hope for a life she always wanted, but never thought she'd have. Without spoilers, it is difficult to describe the chain of events that follows. One night, a flashback forces Skye to face her demons - secrets that she could never tell Thomas, secrets that she couldn't allow herself to share because of a fear that he, too, would abandon her. Just when you think you can't take any more ... you must. This is an intense novel. It pulls no punches, so to speak. But it is also full of beautiful, tender moments, intense sexuality that will leave you breathless, and heartbreak that will make you sob. You may even have to put the book down and allow yourself some time to experience, with Skye, the impact of what just happened. There is only one phrase that comes to mind for me ... Survival is a total eclipse of the heart. I will never experience that classic song the same way again. Read it. Experience it. Share it. You won't regret it. I can't wait to see where Skye's journey leads her in its next chapter. (But I'm certain that we haven't heard the last of Curtis ... at least I hope not!) Total Eclipse of the Heart

Skye Jones was born just a few minutes after her brother, Oliver. And ever since then, those two have been thick as thieves. Even as their family fell apart, the two stuck together, each holding two jobs, saving every penny so they can get away from their drunk of a mother. One New Year’s Eve, Skye is introduced to her brother’s friends. One in particular stood out to her. Cut Throat, or Curtis. One night later down the road, Curtis shows up at her house and takes her away. She learns that night that her brother is a fighter and has been for a while now. That night changes her life forever. After the unfortunate accident, Curtis and Skye strike up a relationship. They’re good together. They’re happy. But one night Curtis reveals that Oliver had money saved for him and Skye, that they had more than enough to get away from their mother and live on their own. The thing is, Curtis isn’t coming. Years later, on Margarita Monday, Skye meets a guy in an alleyway. He captures her heart with a simple magic trick. Three hours later, they realize they have that insta-love connection. Thomas is good for Skye. I mean, he’s real good for her. Together they’re happy, and Skye is finally living. She’s living for her and Oliver. She has a purpose, a reason to wake up each day. All is good and Skye is slowly getting over her fear of Thomas leaving her… There are just a few words that describe the reading experience I had. Let’s see if I can chronologically list them… Upset. Really upset. Angry. Happy. Pissed. Concerned. Angry. Happy. Super happy. Ecstatic. Depressed. Crying. Tears. Pain. Yeah, it’s a ride. Rebecca Sherwin is the operator of this roller coaster ride and you’re never going to be the same when you get off. The only thing that bothered me in this book. The insta-love between Skye and Thomas. I can’t stand it. It’s not just this book, but every book, unless it’s done in a certain way, no. No no no no no insta-love. Things take time!!! BUT I am just thrilled that these two got together. Skye and Thomas have a love, a relationship, that I envy. I want to be Skye, I want to feel a love like that. I can’t describe it other than you watch these two and you just know that they will be together forever. It’s amazing. Rebecca just has this way that makes you a part of them. The story… yeah it’s not entirely original, but it’s the best damn story I’ve read yet. This is definitely in my top five best reads of this year. Survival was one of those books I had the hardest time putting down, which sucks because I’m at college. I couldn’t read it fast enough, and I couldn’t read it slow enough. There is a scene in this book that will rip your heart out. It will leave you weak, crying, and emotionally unstable. Yeah, I cried and I messaged Rebecca and I yelled at her. I hated her for what she did, but it was one of those things she didn’t plan out. The story wrote itself. I am impatiently waiting for book two. I have to see where this is going. Five stars for Survival! And a definite improvement from her first book! Oh, I gotta go reread now.

Only once before have I cried because of a book. That book was written by Rebecca Donovan. Maybe it has something to do with the name because, Miss Sherwin, you just made me cry again. The book is fast paced and flows from chapter to chapter to the point that I lost track of time, needing to read more. I found it, even at 3am and very tired, hard to put this book down. I was saved only by the lack of battery in my iPad otherwise I would have read this straight through the night, one sitting. It's been a long time since I got emotionally attached to a book - thank you Rebecca for bringing that back for me. This is a book that will draw you in. It has likeable and justifably unlikeable characters. Characters that I found easy to relate to. This is also a book that made me question something - is it possible to root for two guys? We meet Curtis early on, a man with a past and needing to be fixed. I liked him, a lot. We also meet Thomas, the good guy, the man you want to marry and I was torn between the two. Both have an impact on Skye and both are important in her life at times that matter. Some wonderful quotes and one liners and the sex scenes are nicely done - you can feel the passion as you read. This reader is now impatiently waiting for the next installment - highly recommended.

Survival read very much like a journal or collection of diary entries, and was very easy to follow. Just when it looked like Skye was going to get her happily ever after, life throws her another curve ball. Survival does not have a happy ending, but the possibility for more is there. Book two will be Curtis's story. I am excited to see how Curtis and Skye can intertwine their past and present.

OK so as a rule I don't like cliffhangers but in this case I am happy to go with it! This book was a total surprise and i was totally engrossed from the moment i opened it! It is not for the feint hearted that is for sure and if you are looking for a HEA then you may have to wait for a few sequels to find one! A MASSIVE five stars from me although I'm still reeling from finishing this book!

I loved this emotionally charged book, even the sections which had me at the edge of my seat, or the sections which I cried my eyes out at. The story makes you feel and grips you like you would not believe. I am not one for books which are full of raw emotion as I read to escape reality and all of its realities. Yet this book was different. I was addicted to reading more to find out what would happen next to Skye, whether good or bad. This is the first book that I have read by Rebecca Sherwin and in a very short amount of time she has managed to make me her fan girl. I immediately liked Skye and her spunky, you can knock me down but I will get right back up attitude and I cried inside for all of the tragedy she went through in her short life. Not one but two smoking hot, sweet men in one book. What's not to love? I experienced a myriad of emotions while reading about Skye's world. To hear about her world tumbling down when she was eighteen and all of her tragic loss was heartbreaking and gut wrenching. Then experiencing her love for both Curtis and Tomas, I turned into a puddle of goo. I highly recommend for a book full of tragedy, mystery, suspense and all consuming love and lust.

I was lucky to receive the ARC for this book. Truth be told, something about the title got my attention, and I wasn't wrong. This book has everything you'd ever want to find in a book. Personally, I was really able to identify myself with Skye, I'd feel her pain as my own. So many of the emotions and situations she went through made me relate to her. The love part, is another thing that it's amazing!!! I don't want to reveal anything, but I gotta say....Girls, if you're looking for a true heroin, I was lucky to receive the ARC for this book. I had the pleasure of meeting Rebecca at a signing and never hearing of her work I got home and purchased survival and wow it's not what I thought it would be at all. Skye is a twin to Oliver they live with there mom who just gave up so they have plans to better themselfs but when life throws a curve ball Skye has to pick up and carry on. Being strong and independent isn't as easy as it seems and with everything in your life running smooth you know it's not going to be long before there's a bump. Wow, this story sucked me in. This is a story of true survival, Skye continues to lose everything around her, fate twists and rips your heart out as you feel for this young lady. She struggled to deal with what life has handed to her and some how she finds a way to survive. It's a heart wrenching, beautiful story. I didn't want to put it down, and was gutted when it did end. I don't normally read previews of the next book as I prefer to read the whole story as opposed to just a short snippet. Bu Wow, this story sucked me in. I received this for an honest review and I have to say this book absolutely had me in tears (and I am not a crier) Skye is a very determined young lady who has been given the worst of luck. As a young adult she loses the one person who means the most to her. Her twin brother Oliver. This book just absolutely tore me apart. I have a hard time reviewing this because I don't want to give anything away. This is one of those books that you just need to experience and fall in love with... This amazing book left me an emotional wreck. The title says it all, it's the story of one woman's survival through the horrors that life throws her way. The main character Skye is instantly likeable and I felt every emotion right along with her. This story hits you hard, grabs you and doesn't let go. I read it all in 2 days and when I wasn't reading it, I was thinking about it over and over. Stock up on the tissues and hold on for the ride. This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. Read from an ARC copy. Where to start. It's hard to think that real life can be so harsh but for Skye Jones, her life from the age of 18 is pretty tragic. This story really is about Survival. Told with a series of flashbacks, the story covers some harsh topics with directness but not without sympathy to the character. As a reader you wonder how much more Skye can take and just when things seem to being going her way, Sherwin whacks you in the gut with another heartbreak for her lead character. Can I just say: Where do I get a Thomas? A beautiful romance. This main character is truly unlucky, but at the same time she has the best luck. Why? She then searches for magic, and she gets it in the form of a Thomas. He is funny, handsome, patient, horny, and ...just search for everything good in a guy an he is that. Along the book, the chapters tell us how good they are for each other until the author breaks our hearts and we and the MC end up empty. And there is where I found out the thing that did not make this book a five star one. The ending. I just found that a kiss and her finding Curtis was just like ah? And maybe I must read the second book, but the ending I found too rushed. At least that kiss and that romantic vibe was totally like cheating on Thomas. I didn't like that.

Sad story of loss and romance What beautiful storytelling, likable characters with personality. The main character is just so relatable, someone who just wants someone to love her. She has so much tragedy and heartbreak. Good dialogue and a very simple storyline. The pages turned quickly as the author draws you into a sentimental and sweet story. Highly recommend.

Disclaimer: I was given a copy of Survival in exchange for nothing more that an honest review. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own. Firstly let me say that I have LOVED every page of this book!!! I felt so much emotion from all the characters. Skye and her twin brother; Oliver; had lived happily with their parents. But then their father leaves and doesn't come back. The departure of their father has an impact on all of them, but their mother turns to alcohol. It falls to Skye and Oliver to provide for all of them. Skye and Oliver are really close, but then Oliver dies as the result of the fights he's been competing in. Skye didn't know that Oliver had been taking part in fights. Now with Oliver gone Skye feels like she's completely alone. Skye begins to spend more and more time with Curtis. Curtis was one of her brother's friends and also one of the other fighters. Curtis tries to help Skye to realise that she needs to live for both herself and Oliver. It's what Oliver would have wanted. Curtis hands Skye a bag of money. Its money that Oliver had been keeping for him and Skye so that they could leave home. Skye thinks that she and Curtis can now take off, but Curtis says no its for her. So once again Skye is on her own. So Skye begins a new life on her own. Until she meets Thomas. Can Thomas be her HEA? Will Skye be able to let him in? Will he abandon her like her father, Oliver and Curtis? You'll have to read it for yourself to find out! :) The characters are so life like. Skye and Oliver were so close, they were inseparable, always there for each other, always encouraging one another. Oliver was Skye's rock, and then... He's gone. Taken from her in a cruel twist of the author's mind! Skye is such a strong character, she always seems to come back that bit stronger after each and every set back. Skye's love, anger, hurt, pain, and grief are so intense I could feel them as though they were my own. Her personality grows as the book progresses. Curtis, 'Cut Throat Curtis'. Is a man with baggage and demons. Curtis comes across as being secretive, I think he has a very dark past. He admits that he uses sex to forget. But I think deep down his heart is in the right place. Skye seems to bring some of that out in him. Then there's Thomas! Thomas is the mysterious stranger. He captures Skye's attention with a magic trick in an alley. Thomas is sensitive, caring and hot. Thomas and Skye's relationship is good, they are good together. Thomas helps Skye to begin healing, to begin feeling again. Thomas is Skye's unwavering constant. Miss Sherwin has created a shit storm of epic proportions. She puts Skye through so much and gives her a little bit of a break then throws more at her. Miss Sherwin's writing is fab. She transports you into the heart of the story and envelopes you in the thoughts and feelings of each and every character. Her attention to detail is fantastic. Miss Sherwin gives enough detail to keep you hooked and leaves out just the right amount to keep you guessing. Survival is... amazing, addictive, it's emotional; I mean really emotional, it's beautiful. Survival had me hooked from the very beginning, and not once did I ever feel bored, lost or tempted to skip anything. Survival has made me laugh, made me feel nervous, angry, hurt and made me cry. I have been taken on such an emotional rollercoaster and I have loved every minute of it. I can't wait for book #2 in this series. I think reading Survival is what has caused me issues reading the books that I've tried reading since. I've been hungover. I would definitely recommend grabbing yourself a copy! Go on be a devil!

Ms Sherwin, you owe me a night’s sleep! Once I started Survival, I couldn’t put it down which resulted me reading through the night just so I could finish it. Once I started Survival, I couldn’t put it down which resulted me reading through the night just so I could finish it. This story captivates and captures your attention right from the start and holds your focus until the very end! Skye Jones and her twin brother Oliver were forced into living in poverty when their Father left them and their Mother for another woman. The three of them are forced to move from their large family home to a government unit. Their Mother, who has never held a job, turns to alcohol and cigarettes and relies solely on government payments, not caring if there is food in the unit for Skye and Oliver. Fed up with their situation, the two start working two jobs each in order to keep themselves fed, keep their Mother happy with her vices and put money away so they can leave their living situation together and make a better life. Skye meets her brother’s friends, who are all tattooed, muscly hotties, for the first time one name and give her the nickname “the Skillet”, because “she is so hot, she’ll burn”! Later on, Skye learns that Oliver and his friends are actually all fighters and “Cut Throat” Curtis takes her to one of her brother’s fights for her to watch. She is horrified at the thought of her brother fighting and that night changes her life forever. Curtis is there to catch her when she falls and becomes her rock. The two strike up a sexual relationship which turns to Skye falling in love while Curtis tells her that all they’ll ever be is a sexual relationship as likes sex for the peacefulness is brings after. When Curtis gives Skye money that Oliver has been saving for the two of them, Curtis encourages her to find a new life, new friends and find the happiness she deserves…without him! A couple of years past and Skye has a new life complete with a new job, a new place to live and a new smokin’ hot boyfriend, Thomas. These two are sizzling together and I love the little games the play together. They absolutely adore each other and are a very sweet couple. Then Skye sees Curtis on the television for a fight event and her mind starts swimming causes her to lose focus on her relationship with Thomas. When another tragic event occurs, Skye is forced to pick up the pieces again and fight for her happiness. Will Skye “the Skillet” Jones ever be able to find true happiness amongst the tragedies she has had to endure throughout her life? Rebecca writes such an amazing, heart wrenching, soul seizing read that will leave you wanting and begging for more. This story is begging for you to devour it! I cannot wait to read Curtis’ story next. I was given a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review. Reviewed by Tanya.

Highly Relatable Love Story. Great book about a girl named Skye, who happens to be: Any-girl USA. I enjoyed following her life story from childhood to young adult. It struck me clear as a bell, that Skye is all about family. Give me a person who is all about family, any day of the week, because over the years I’ve come to realize that anybody who is all about family, can not be all bad. I found the love and commitment of this story to be reminiscent of the contemporary romance novels. Fresh after coming off rock-bottom, due to no fault of her own, Skye found herself with a successful, educated, and well cultured man who had done it all, and had it all, before turning 40-years-old. Yet, Skye was everything he had been searching for his whole life. Together, they were volcanic: They had sex in the car and then took a cab home and made love in their queen-sized bed--oh what a night? One more thing I’ll say is, their steamy phone sex got me going. That’s all I have to say about that. Skye described him (Thomas) as aggressive & successful in business, the boss who was a big tough, almost always horny tiger who could only be tamed by her. They were deep in love. Skye, her big sister Beth, and her twin brother Oliver were all one tight bunch that were inseparable, come hell or highwater, I loved that quality about family. I got the feeling, her brother was going to kill one of his friends for planting an unwelcomed kiss on her mouth at a New Year’s Eve party. Skye is such a good girl that she continued to love and forgive her father for leaving his family to start a new life with his new girlfriend. A fact that was evidenced in her use of humor about not being upset with her father for leaving his family, except he should have taken her and her twin brother with him. Skye was talking about the same father who left the family so poor that she, Oliver, and her mom lost their nice family home and had to move in to a small apartment so inadequate that she & her twin brother had to share the same bedroom and bathroom. I got the feeling that Skye really does love her mother as well, despite the fact that she never pass-up a chance to belittle her mother’s bad habits of chronic unemployment, welfare, cigarette and alcohol abuse. When they were younger, Skye and her twin both held two jobs to take care of themselves but mom smoked and drank all the money away. Therefore, Skye and her brother secretly saved for a place of their own. I recommend this book, especially, to all the hopeless romantics.

Oh my god!! My heart has been ripped out and trampled on and I feel like I need time to grieve for all that I've lost, but even more than that I need to start book 2 of this series! In those 10 years she experiences more loss and pain than most people endure in their entire lifetime. This is one of those books I always have a hard time reviewing because I refuse to ruin any of it for you. This is basically for all of my IG followers and GR followers- if you haven't yet read the blurb or any other reviews, I'm BEGGING you not to! I went into this book without even ever seeing a teaser. I had no idea what to expect, and I was blown away. I've now read the blurb and I honestly feel like you will experience more deeply if you just skip it. Be prepared for tears, pain, and some more pain, and also some of the most romantic and loving moments you've ever read. (Oh, and I can't forget to mention the hot sex....lots of it!!) There have been a few books where I've had to message the author and vent about what I'm reading, this was one of them. It sucked me in and wouldn't let me go, no matter how much it hurt. The happy parts hooked me just as much because it was so wonderful to see Skye finally getting something good in her life. It hadn't happened often, but she's a fighter and regardless of how this book ended I know she'll continue fighting, if not for her then for those she has loved and lost along the way.
