This book had some interesting information on micronutrients and some stunning statistics about how they are lacking in our modern diet. I didn't like their push to buy their special vitamins. Nor was I impressed at the alternative health "authorities" that they quoted (e.g. Mercola and Oz).

i really appreciate the tables in this book; i copied most of them, as they clearly stated which micros help which conditions. such tables include, which conditions can be caused by which micro deficiency, which micros to avoid taking together, or which micros to take on which medication. however, i dislike the push for their own products and the choice of the word “miracle.” so while some pieces of information are very useful to me, it’s hard to trust the rest.

The key takeaway from this book is that micronutrients are really important for optimum health. We cannot just focus on the macronutrients (fat, protein and carbohydrates) breakdown and composition in our diet. Due to the modern soil quality being compromised because of modern farming techniques leading to the depletion of many trace elements and important minerals, many of us are now not getting sufficient micronutrients in our diet. Besides minerals, vitamins and essential fatty acids (Omega-3, for eg), I found it a great reminder that essential amino acids also play an important role in our health. Some of the worksheets showing what the Everyday Micronutrient Depleting elements in there are somewhat helpful, but are clearly more targeted at readers who take a lot of prescription or OTC medications. I did not much care for any of the recipes in the book but instead rely on other cookbooks and my own understanding of what constitutes healthy eating to fix meals at home. Basically, we want to make sure we eat organic fruits and vegetables, meats that are grass-fed, poultry and eggs that are pasture-raised, and fish that are wild-caught. If it weren't for the fact that much of the food nowadays is processed, laden with pesticides, GMO, fed antibiotics, etc. there would not be as many diseases.

Has good information on what Micronutrients cause which health issues. They do have some very good information in this book as well, but the pushing of their own products, (videos, books, pills, etc.) is a big turn off. This book reminds me of an "Infomercial" with its order this book, and get these pills, and list powder, and that fat (all of which is their brand), and the oils they suggest by the way fly in the face of what we just told you about what goes on your body goes into it as well. In the beginning it states several times you don't need to change your diet, than goes on to push their pills and powders, etc.. What I found interesting is in the earlier chapters its says don't eat this or this or that because of what it has in it, than goes on to list them as foods to eat, very confusing!! (Like tomatoes and sweet potatoes just to name two) I did copy many of the charts for my own references, but most of what they are saying is the same old same old from all the other nutrition books I've already read. Dr. Oz is not a top authority in Nutrition in my book, he is as TV personality sort of like Oprah, whom I wouldn't trust my health to either.

While I appreciate the information on micronutrients and how are bodies absorb them, I think the rest regarding diet and exercise is another attempt by someone trying to introduce another diet out there as a fad, especially since it seems like a whole infomercial for their products.

I've read so many nutrition books (and practice almost all that they teach) that I feel as if I could have written this book. They could have easily seen the warning label on the bottle "not for internal use" and applied their claim in print in the book that "what goes on you goes in you." And they can send a bottle to Dr. Pappas the leading expert in the world on essential oils for testing and a report.

I've read so many nutrition books that this one didn't have much to say that I haven't already heard. At times it can sound like an infomercial because they suggest using their products over and over. Their products might be the best quality. They certainly seem to have put a lot of work into creating them. They do give you some options if you don't want to use their products, which I feel redeems the infomercial feel a bit. Great information on how important it is that all nutrients needed by the body are received in the proper amount and work synergistically together to create health. If even one nutrient is lacking, it can cause disease and illness. I also learned that many minerals and vitamins fight each other, so you can take a great multi-vitamin but not absorb all the vitamins that are in it because they compete for the same receptor sites. I have two copies of this book. There is a whole foods approach to taking the multivitamin, explained in the quick start section. I started there and got immediate benefits. I agree that this program is pricey, especially for folks not trying to address health conditions. However, conventional drug therapy for osteoporosis is also pricey and leads to unexpected fractures. I had five of them. I'm ready to give this a try.

Some really interesting concepts here. We tried the diet for a month and it wasn't enough carbohydrates for this nursing mother. However it worked well for my husband. We have continued forward with the MCT oil, but since we are already eating a traditional whole foods diet and we like to eat vegetarian several nights a week we have not stuck to this. However it was a very interesting read and I would recommend it if you want to learn more about how nutrition truly effects everything.

While I believe the authors are very passionate and have done a tremendous amount of research, the book felt like an advertisement for their products and program. They do offer alternatives to their own products but claim you can't get the same results. Eating shouldn't be this complex! I should have expected anything with miracle in the title was too good to be true. I'll stick to primal eating since I thankfully don't have any of the serious conditions addressed in the book.

I think Mira and Jayson did a good job or explaining how crucial individual vitamins are for preventing each condition. However, the whole time I felt like I was reading a billboard. It felt way too salesy and it was distracting from being present with the book. As a nutritionist, I approved of the content but was a little annoyed with how it was presented.

There's a lot of good info here, but don't get overwhelmed, just use what's useful to you. I am not following the plan or buying the products, but I found the well researched information very helpful.

I have been reading health and nutrition related books for the last ten months and finally I have found a practical guide that applies all the scientific information I have learned about. I can recommend this book without reservations.

Well written, accessible, interesting ideas. Am giving their program a shot, although I felt like there were some unanswered questions. A bit pushy with their own products, but I've seen much worse.
