I know, these are fun mystery books for kids. But I still have trouble suspending disbelief when it comes to kids getting involved with important governmental operations. The first book I reread in this series, The Case of the Mystery Cruise, has a plot that is at least plausible. As the series goes on, the Trenchcoat Twins get involved in more and more serious mysteries that get played off as being "just fine" in the end. Nonetheless, I will say that one of the things I really did enjoy about The Case of the U.S. Navy Adventure is that it begins with an "out of this world" mystery that gets solved by logic. I do have to wonder, though, how did the FOOFFOS know to go to the Edge of the World? They somehow know to go to Hawaii, but then randomly return to Ohio when it turns out the UFO was, in fact, a satellite. I want to know more about those three rascals, but alas, this 80-page story did not allow for it.

This is a good book for studnets to read to get some adventure. It is fun mixed with a little bit of U.S. Navy knowledge.
