Oh!” He shifted around in place for another few seconds and blurted out the name of a local appliance store. “They have a lot of brands there,” I said. “Which one did you decide on?” “Which one?” “Which brand did you buy?” Stu asked. “Oh! Yeah! I chose the black one.” It was sometimes hard for me to keep a straight face. Stu shot me a quick glance which barely concealed a wry smile. “Not the color,” Stu said to him. “The brand. Who made it? Is it a Kenmore? Frigidaire? Westinghouse?” I added, “Corolla? Camry? Maxima?” “Oh, uhhh….” His eyes darted around as the noose grew tighter. All he had to do was turn his head and look at the refrigerator!
