I won this book on Goodreads. The subject sounded interesting but I was very put off by the manner of speech and style of writing in the book. The grammar was awful and made it difficult to read. The story line itself was rather depressing and difficult to follow in my opinion. I read about half of the book over a period of a month and just couldn't stomach any more of it so I actually never finished the book and believe I will move on to other books.

Sarma offers readers an insightful look into the life of an Indian bride and her life in the USA with all its difficulties, joys right along with the matters of marriage and children that families of all cultures in the US navigate. This is one to enjoy. My copy was a gift from Goodreads First Reads.

A very good book about "culture clash." Though the two books are VERY different, this reminded me of "Stranger in a Strange Land," in that American society was analyzed by an "outsider."
