This is third book in the Love and Music series. Blaine, Jamison’s sister, is back home but hasn’t told anyone except Randy that she is staying. It is so hard when you are young sometimes to know what you want to do with your life. She never let on to her family how bad it was in Hollywood, but all her friends and family want to know why she is back home. Randy, who has been in love with her for years, accidentally finds out why she is home. He promises not to tell anyone, I was glad she had Randy to confide in as she was driving herself crazy. I love this small town as the friends are close and always willing to help in any way. Unfortunately Randy’s family does not support his music career which causes all kinds of problems. Poor Blaine has her problems come to town and make her life miserable. There are secrets that come out and some suspenseful things happening. I strongly encourage you to read the book. I was given a copy of the book and voluntarily wrote a review.

This is the 3rd book in Love and Music in Texas Series. This book was amazing. This is Randy and Blaines' story. Each book is a standalone, but I would recommend reading them in order. Blaine left years ago to chase her dream. She has made a career out of her passion for dancing and no she is back home. She has secrets no one in her family or friends know about. They all think she just skipped out and didn't care when times where tough. Even now when she is back they still don't think she is sticking around. The only person who sees she is hurting and something isn't right is Randy. They have been friends a long time and Randy has a secret of his own. He is love with Blaine an Blaine left years ago to chase her dream. She has made a career out of her passion for dancing and no she is back home. Even now when she is back they still don't think she is sticking around. The only person who sees she is hurting and something isn't right is Randy. They have been friends a long time and Randy has a secret of his own. He is love with Blaine and has been for a while. Randy is the one his family always runs to when they need something. They use him and never think to ask if he needs help. They don't believe in his playing music and think it's a waste of time. As they spend more time together they each share their feelings and secrets with each other. Some people will do whatever they can to keep them apart and make sure they aren't happy together. Before reading Blaine's story I pictured a selfish woman who was only after her own wants and needs. That is how she seemed in the last book. I am so glad to see another side of her and to get her own story in this one. She is a quiet person who holds everything in. all her life it seems like everyone knew what they wanted and where they were going while she had no idea. She wanted to get out and find her self. She has suffered and she has done it alone. She had no one to share it with and she still thinks she can't tell anyone. She has major changes going on in her life but she is afraid to reach out because when people needed her she couldn't help them. She manages to keep people at arms length to keep them from seeing what she has going on and what she needs. Randy is the one his family runs to when they need anything. They are constantly taking advantage of him yet when he needs something they act like the world has ended. He loves his music and his biggest drive is to hope that Baby Stetson makes it big. His parents think he is foolish and should give it up. They don't look to see what he needs. He is a very sweet yet sexy man. These two are really in the background of the other books so you don't really give them a whole lot of thought until this book. I love how they are friends all their lives and now are starting to see each other as something else. Well Blaine more so than Randy. He has always like her. I loved getting to know both of these better and seeing what is going on in their lives. Blaine is going through so much and she thinks she has to do it alone. Randy with his ever watchful Blaine eye sees something isn't right. He gets her to talk to him and he keeps her secret. He gets her to laugh and have a good time something she really has forgot to do. I love how he can make her smile with the silly things he says. When both of their problems meet head on. they have to make hard decisions and learn to trust in what they have between them. I enjoyed seeing all the other characters in this book and what they had going on. If you have never read this series it is a must read!

Love and Music in Texas series is back again with The Key to My Heart. In Baby Stetson and The Melody in My Head introduces us to Blaine and Randy. Blaine is Jameson Grant's older sister and Randy Hughes is a drummer in the band Baby Stetson. Blaine took off from Harmony Grove, Texas to get away from small town living and to peruse a dream in Hollywood. A few horrible things happen to her, so she decides to come back home to heal from them. Randy is the only son in a family of sisters. A few horrible things happen to her, so she decides to come back home to heal from them. Randy is the only son in a family of sisters. His parents are not happy with his choice of a career going into music. And what they do not know that that Randy has been in love with Blaine since they were children. Blaine has been through so many things. She thought she was married to a man that was going to help her with her dance career, instead he ended up controlling her and her life. All she wanted to do was finally escape him. As Blaine was starting to heal from her hell that she experienced in Hollywood with Randy's help, everything changes. Her ex husband has tracked her down and is trying to make her pay for leaving him. Then on top of it Randy's father is the owner of the local newspaper of Harmony Grove. Blaine and Randy work through so much. The love story building between them is a love that many people can only dream about. They each work through betrayals brought from people that they thought that loved them to build an amazing love story. Nikki Lynn Barrett does it again with this series. She brings back Avery, Lucas, Melody and Jameson. She finishes up more of each of their stories while still focusing on Blaine and Randy. She is one of the few authors that can do that. She just has the flair to be able bring back her other characters from each of her books, but can keep the story line fresh and interesting. She ties up the book, but still focuses on the story. I am really glad there is going to be a book 4 with this series. That means I am going to stalk her page for next couple of months begging for it! Baby Stetson, The Melody in My Head and The Key to My Heart could all be stand alone books, but when read in order they just make an amazing and beautiful love series. There are also some beautiful lyrics written in each of the books that I would love hear become songs. Mrs. Barrett is a talented and an amazing author that I am grateful to have the honor to read her. *i was given this book for honest review, this is very honest on how i feel about the whole story and series*

This book is the 3rd in the Love and Music in Texas Series but can be read as a stand-alone. Blaine left home years ago to pursue her dream as a dancer in Hollywood. After years as being the assistant to a nightmare of a boss Blaine has decided that she needs a change of pace and a new career but what can a 34-year-old dancer do in the small town of Harmony’s Echo? Blaine catches up with her brother Jameson, her best friend Avery, Lucas Avery’s husband and friend Randy Hughes when she gets home. Blaine catches up with her brother Jameson, her best friend Avery, Lucas Avery’s husband and friend Randy Hughes when she gets home. Randy has put his dreams on hold to be the big brother and son his family wants him to be while working at the family run local Newspaper. Randy, along with Jameson and Avery are part of a band called Baby Stetson with 2 other friends Marty and Sean. Baby Stetson has finally got their demo done and they are gaining popularity but Randy’s family thinks he’s wasting his time. The bad blood in the family with musicians is causing Randy a bunch of headaches over trying to get his family to see that his dreams are worth pursuing. As Blaine starts to spend time with Randy she begins to see him in a new light. Randy, the quiet shy guy has come out of his shell and she likes the man he has become. Randy has had a crush on Blaine for years. He has tried to move on but no woman is going to the place of Blaine. Just when things get going for these two there is always someone there to stop them from seeing what kind of couple they can be. I received the ARC of this in exchange for an honest review. I have not read the first two books in this series and I had not yet read a book written by Nikki Lynn Barrett until I read this one. I love how the book hooked me within the first few pages. The characters are easy to relate to. Randy’s character I loved from the beginning, as he’s a guy I’d want for myself. I love the corny line he gives Blaine including the one about her being his “favorite girl” and how it was a song. I found myself singing the song in my head as I read on a bit. It’s not very often do I relive my teenage years while reading a book. I so loved that part. This is a must add to anyone’s To Be Read but make sure to put it at the top of the list as you’ll be missing out on a beautiful honest love story. Imagine my luck when I remembered that I never learned how to do those. When I started reading the first book of this series, I didn't know what would be in store for me. I wasn't even thinking that the author would be adding more books to the series. I will tell you that I have waited on this book and I was going to take the biggest pitch fork that I could find and hunt this author down. She came pretty close several times. I will say that every book that this author writes, she gets even in more touch with the characters. I have enjoyed seeing her come out of her shell and just give it to us. I can't tell you how many times I cry when I read her books. If you haven't read any of them, then you need to get out of your rocker and download them. After that you can sit back in your rocker and read them. I get so emotional and I can imagine myself in the place of the characters. This book is about Blaine and Randy. Randy is now at the point of figuring the next step for Baby Stetson. All of a sudden the girl he had feelings comes back in his life. Blaine also has some secrets to tell about. No one ever has it easy in these books. The author always has some kind of suspense going on and I can't never just sit around and take it. If you haven't read this series yet, you better download them now and read them. I know that you want to know what I'm talking about.

So this is book 3 of the series, all are standalone but they connect you with the characters from the 1st 2 books and I love that. Randy wants to know and he finds something out, but before he can get the whole story they are interrupted. But Blaine so needs to talk to someone so she goes over to Blaine's place and talks to him about what is going on. This brings them closer together, but Blaine is still hesitant about getting involved with Randy. But the vibes going between them is hot and they cannot fight the attraction, but someone is after Blaine, she does not know until it is too late. Randy is suspected in hurting this guy as he is unconscious and not able to clear Randy. Blaine feels bad, she is so trying to start over and the past just won't let it happen. This story kept me reading from the time I picked up the book until i set it down at the end. I laughed some and I cried some during this book. Another awesome job Nikki, cannot wait to hear more about the rest of the band members.

His patience and persistence finally chip away at her wall, allowing them to truly find one another. What I loved most about his book is the way the author incorporates all of the Love and Music in Texas characters. It's like coming home again. Well done! **** 4 STARS

I had the advantage to receive an ARC from Nikki in exchange for an honest review. This is not my first book I've read, I've read her others as well. And like those she's outdone herself once again. I could relate to how Blaine felt and then to watch her transform and allow the wall to come down gives a person like her hope that there's always something positive to look for. The story is written with such passion that will leave you wanting more. addicting Blaine and Randy are favorites to fall in love with. This series is so well written. So many subjects in it packed with intrigue, love , humor and friendship yet doesn't stall in any of them. Very well written and moves through each section with ease. I loved going back to Harmony's Echo and meeting Blaine and delving into her story with Randy. What I like about this author is that she never sugar coat's anything, no topic or subject are ever off limits. In this story that was very much the case she has away of always getting to the heart of the matter as well. I really enjoyed this story of Randy and Blaine, I felt like after reading The Melody in my Head I could not wait to find out what happened with them. Blaine and what she faced broke my heart but dang this girl came out swinging and you never knew what she was going to do next. I don't know what character the author has next for us but I can say if its this same group of friends than I can't wait for more. This book does have sex and adult language so it may not be suitable for all.

Revealing a secrets Randy has had a crush on Blaine since they were teenagers, but being shy took him more years to tell her. Blaine has always felt like she didnt know her purpose so when she went to Hollywood she mad some stupid mistakes that came back with her. Fighting the rumors and stalkers almost crumbled them both but love stood the test.

Her back was messed up and she needed to get it healed and decide what she was going to do with the rest of her life. Randy Hughes had always been a shy guy and he now had a total love of music and was in Baby Stetson Band. His own family had no support for him and yet he was always there to help his family out. Blaine Grant was Jameson's brother so he really did not know what Blaine was up to. While in Hollywood Blaine had been with a dancer and her family did not know how 'involved' with that dancer she was. This book has secrets being revealed and joyous times and very bad times. The book has the characters of Book 1 & 2 in it so there were additions of Jameson, Avery and her husband Lucas and their infant daughter plus everyone else in the Baby Stetson Band and their families. Has Randy found the key to Blaine's heart? Read and enjoy!

Well written story. I liked the two MC's, and the surrounding cast of family and friends. (Her mother, her brother and her friends, who were part of the Baby Stetson band.) I thought that the small town feel of their community was also pretty well presented. There were good people in the town but there was also a fairly large group small-minded people. They was such a feel of them thinking they had the right to be in everybody's business. That is something that I know happens in small towns but Well written story. Blaine really had her secrets and the suprises just kept coming. And Randy! What a sweet guy; really liked him. He was such a supportive guy to Blaine. He was strong in his own way too, and he wasn't going to quit on Blaine. I was really pulling for him. What a sweet romance that was mixed in with so many challenges. I liked that his (Randy's) relationship problems with his parents weren't resolved overnight. In fact, he just had to move on with his dreams with or without their support. The name of the book, where it came from was beyond touching as well. It does have some Sexual Content in it. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

"The Key to My Heart" by Nikki Lynn Barret is book number three in the "Love and Music in Texas" series. This is Blaine Grant and Randy Hughes' story. Texas, country music, friends, and love how can you go wrong. I really enjoyed the book. I was hooked right away. There were twists that you didn't know were coming and kept you on the edge of your seat. It can be read as a standalone or part of the series. I look forward to reading more books by Nikki Lynn Barrett. I received a copy of this book

Again, too much sex Love this series and I just keep reading hoping the author will get rid of the sex but so far I just keep skipping pages. This was better edited than book 2. The author writes well but sometimes wraps up a scene way too fast. Other times the book dragged. I'm hoping for a smooth flow in the next book.
