DNF'd about halfway through. My other half can eat his weight in dumplings, and expressed interest in learning to make them at home rather than trekking across the county to the Asian grocery. So I bought this for him back before I made my rule about always (always, always) downloading a sample of cookbooks before purchasing. Makes me wish Kindle would devise a way to transfer or donate unwanted ebooks. Promptly forgot I had bought it until a couple weeks ago when we were craving dumplings. Firs DNF'd about halfway through. First, I thought this might focus on different kinds of dumplings. There's one small section on dumplings, and those we made from it weren't not even as good as the ones we can buy frozen from the grocery. Second, it's got that whole overly chirpy-cutesy social media vibe that I find annoying. Had I known these gals whole claim to expertise was being YouTubers, I'd never have bought the book. Third, there's so, so, so much sodium in these recipes. Thought maybe it was just me and my currently whacked-out sense of taste, but nope. Even my salt-loving neighbor agreed. Her kids, OTOH, who have been known to pour salt in the palms of their hands to lick, thought it was all great. Hey, if their mom is OK with it, not my job to be the nutrition police. Probably would appeal to a college student or fan of their channel. Not for me. Really makes me wish Amazon would invent a way to give away unwanted Kindle books. ________ DNF Disclaimer: Usually I don't mark my DNF/abandoned books as "read" or give them a rating. That said, I might do one or both if any of the following is applicable: A) I read 25% or more. It's a completely arbitrary limit, but that is more than enough time for a book to prove its value to me. B) I find the content or writing especially inane, insufferable, or just plain old dull.

Outstanding voyage through Chinese cuisine This cookbook will reveal why recipes from other Chinese cookbooks don't taste as good as better restaurant Chinese. The recipes, ingredients and techniques are clearly explained and easy to follow. The ingredients can be found in grocery stores in most mid and large communities. In my experience, mainstream grocers aren't the best source. If you can't find the ingredients locally you will online. Enjoy. Yum Love the lot sticker recipe. The sesame oil brings another depth to it. Other recipes seen don't use this. They are all so very good to be frozen. Was expecting more dumpling recipes but I suppose I could play around with the ingredients but keep quantities the same. Yum Love the lot sticker recipe. The sesame oil brings another depth to it.
