Book 2, Well worth the wait!!! A very impressive sequel to Book 1. From the center of political and military power on Sol Terra to the planet Rift and beyond, the author keeps the reader fully engaged in this series. Mr Carsten has continued to develop the characters, both primary and secondary. The ongoing conflict between humanity and that Xoltai is riveting. I'm also impressed by the military prowess of male and female warriors, especially General Stand's "Wollf" and heart. Fantastic story, de Book 2, Well worth the wait!!! I wasn't sure if Mr. Carstens would be able to grow the characters and some of the best space combat I have read in recent memory. Yeah, I was wrong... this book is damned well GREAT!! The characters grew and the battle scenes were made in a way that made me believe I was there. Now Mr Carstens I'm reading the third book and I'm going to need some more books! I will be buying ALL of Mr. Carstens' books in the future. Give them a shot you sure won't regret it. Well unless your a hybrid... Awesome I loved this book. Every thing from the intense combat and non-stop action to deeply developed character's is well written. I started the first book in this series and literally haven't stopped reading until I finished this one. Awesome I loved this book. Great story, great action The first book took a bit to get up to speed but made up for that in the end; this book just starts at full throttle and does not let up. Looking forward to book 3.

The second in the Blood War Series. Marine Raiders follows the characters from the first book as the attack a alien planet. It like the first in the series is action packed and pulls you along through the story. If you enjoy space operas with this is a great read.

Decent SciFi Storyline Strangled By Inept Writing & Editing "Strike Back, " Book 2 continues a decent storyline of sadistic aliens, using genetically mutated humans, to brutally invade human star systems. It is shameful, in that his total lack of writing talent and basic skills, dishonors those who gave so much. The writing is so amateurish, so tortured, so broken, that I believed initially that the author was non-English speaking. That belief was mistaken. He is just a really bad writer. The editing is beneath incompetent-it's absent. Nearly every page is resplendent in examples of ineptitude. The eBook author dishonors himself, showing no pride in workmanship, by publishing such a poor product.

While I cannot speak to the accuracy of the emotions portrayed by the soldiers in this book, I do think they encapsulate a stirring story. Humanity is starting to figure out how to defeat the enemy aliens which suddenly attacked humanity, and things are not going well. The wide cast of characters gives many points of view into a cohesive and well-balanced story worth reading. Any fan of Science Fiction or Military Fiction will likely enjoy the Blood Wars.

(view spoiler)[ I am sick and tired of authors ruining, harming, and/or killing off strong female characters for dramatic effect. It doesn't increase dramatic tension, it's simply misogynistic.
