A great story continues I immediately pitched book 2 as soon as I finished the first one. While I still enjoyed this book, I didn't find it as good as the first one. More errors in this one. I have come to expect errors in these types of books, but this one had many. Grammar errors really slow the pace of the story for me. We are introduced to a few new characters in book 2. I would have liked to have been given more description of them. I felt that was lacking. If you read the first book in this series then you know what you are getting here. A very decent post zombie apocalypse novel, that may not break new ground, doesn't spend pages describing a million different ways to kill the undead. There's still something lacking in the general back story and a touch or repetition, especially in the opening chapters but once things get moving, they really get moving. The relative shortness of the book, keeps things moving at a good pace with no time for side plots, whilst keeping things believable with characters that develop rather than just change as and when they need to. Just a shame there was another kidnapping to make Kyle go to a particular place, just as there had been in the first book. Still a great set up for the next part.

An excellent addition to "Fear the Dead". This sequel takes place one year after where the first book left off. We meet some old friends and one idiot you'll want to route against. Kyle is now in charge of Vasey and is faced with the problems that come from a position of leadership. This time, his journey takes him into the belly of the beast and live humans are once again worse than the undead. The book is character driven and very suspenseful. There's a little more gore in this sequel than the first. And this time, there's a female character! Yeah! I'm looking forward to "Fear the Dead 3", as there's definitely room for a third book in this series. If you liked "Fear the Dead", you'll love "Fear the Dead 2".

Good second of a trilogy... Once again we follow Kyle and Jeremy as they head back to the safety of town. Kyle tries to get people to build something sustainable (they just want to drink) and there are challenges to his authority, like the well respected townsman who wants to leave and the half million zombies shuffling towards them from Manchester (UK, not New Hampshire). There's the zombie altercation and the human -who-is-the-real-monster, something we've seen before, so why read this? I like Good second of a trilogy... Plus it's a quick easy read, Lewis had an entertaining style. I like zombie books for mental downtime, and this was perfect.

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. Well I bit the bullet and bought this book on amazon for my Kindle. While it was an enjoyable story, I have more questions now than after I read the first one! Did the rest of Vasey survive? Is Justin a real zombie or just partially a zombie? Why does Kyle trust people so easily even though he claims he doesn't? Where are they going to go now that they can't stay in Vasey? Now I need more books to answer my questions!

Another page turner Once again the author creates another thrilling story line. Kyle has grown so much over the past year and is becoming a leader slowly but surely. Nothing is ever easy in an apocalypse and surviving is taking a grim turn with a super hoard heading towards the only safe haven they know. My question for the author is "Why the dog?" That broke my heart more than anything.

Fear The Dead 2 Another good read from Jack Lewis for zombie lovers like me! Kyle is in Vasey with Justin and trying to make the town self sufficient but there are people who don't want to help. Between the zombies, the stragglers and some of the town people, will Vasey make it or is it a waste of time?

Like this series! I like this series a lot. But I keep forgetting the narrator is a guy. Named Kyle. He does seem to have a problem making the hard decisions but he is learning. The adventure continues in the third book so I'm on to it.
