The Good: Disney Channel novelizations are usually fun, easy, light reading, but this one is a step above others of the genre because of how it tells the story from multiple characters' perspectives, shedding a different light on the events than you see in the television show. While the episodes adapted here are old hat--I've seen them both more than once--reading them makes for a much different experience. Fans of the show should definitely check this out. The Bad: About the only complaint I have is that Comic Sans, the most annoyingly overused font ever, appears sometimes in this book. (Couldn't the makers have used something everyone hasn't already seen?) Conclusion: Last year, I came across two different Disney Channel novelizations at a garage sale: one of Liv & Maddie, the other of Jessie. I had no idea that book versions of either of those series even existed, so, as a longtime Disney Channel fan, you bet I picked them up. They were a bit different than the Lizzie McGuire era novels, but still really good...and, so was this one. If you're not into the series, this isn't for you; for fans like me, though, this is a blast.

Two stories about twin sisters Liv and Maddie based on the Disney Channel show. First, Liv conspires to plan the perfect surprise party for her twin’s sweet 16. In the second part, both girls want to take on the same volunteer project, and it’s up to a dodgeball battle to decide who will stay at the senior center. The book switches back and forth between the twins’ perspectives with each chapter. Decided to dip a toe into a youth fiction tale for a spell. I've never seen this show but the format was oddly familiar. POV change between the lead characters all throughout. A B C story lines. It read like I was watching an episode of the show. A show whose demographic I am clearly not a part of and had no existing connection to.
