    This book does a good job of explaining the whole process. Plus, it comes with glossaries of terms at the end of the different chapters as well as checklists of what when selecting a lender, a checklist of documents required for loan application, a different one of documents required for loan processing, another for processing & underwriting, etc., etc. One of the things I didn't know, but appreciate being informed about is not to shop for lenders on the basis of the interest rates offered. Ms. This book does a good job of explaining the whole process. Plus, it comes with glossaries of terms at the end of the different chapters as well as checklists of what when selecting a lender, a checklist of documents required for loan application, a different one of documents required for loan processing, another for processing & underwriting, etc., etc. One of the things I didn't know, but appreciate being informed about is not to shop for lenders on the basis of the interest rates offered. Ms. Stobbe does a very good job of explaining why. She also gives advice on choosing a real estate agent, a home inspector, etc. And she provides links to sources for making sure you get qualified individuals. I'm going to have to read it again to make sure I don't miss anything when the time comes. The book makes it clear that this will be no time to be unprepared and faint of heart! I feel a little daunted at the prospect but I can only imagine how I'd feel if I'd tried to dive in without reading this.
