As it is aimed at young readers it was a quick and easy read. I think the way in which this book tells the story of 9/11 from personal stories from different people and their experiences of the day is a great way to introduce the history of 9/11 to young readers without overwhelming them with too many facts. This book was informative and emotional as well as giving a personal voice to such a massive and tragic event. It all contained photographs, a timeline of the day as well as sources for further reading. Matt Doeden did a wonderful job with this book. The writing was perfect and made it easy to read and feel what was going on as the day unfolded. The layout of this book was great and made it easy to follow the events of the day while still remaining emotional connected to the stories being told. This events of 9/11 are a important part of world history and this book is a great way to introduce young readers to this historical event. With so many heartbreaking scenes having occurred on that tragic day; this book offers a glimpse into history without any graphic details or images. I honestly don’t have a bad world to say about this book. I think everyone should read this book regardless of age but if you do have a young reader in your life then this is a must have book. Impact by Matt Doeden is a must have for all middle grade readers. Geramie Kate Barker gemsbooknook.wordpress.com

It says in the back of the book how many people were plagued with nightmares and depression and the window cleaning guy doesn’t want to clean any buildings windows that require to go higher than the size of a ladder. It also tells you what certain people would have no other choice but to jump, like this one lady that was just working when the plane crashed into the North Tower, she opened the window for clean air but she only got flames and she was basically just roasting alive so she finally decided to throw the entire window open and jump. Review: I loved this book! I would love to read it over and over. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys historic books or anyone who enjoys scary, thrilling books that’ll leave you at the edge of your seat. I loved this book because of how much detail and how much interesting things that people have been through. I only really got to hear and incision what would happen outside of the towers, but now that I’ve read this, I have a whole other perspective to 9/11 and what happened to all the people that died that day. My favorite part is the part when I got to hear the ending and actually know what happened. I love this book so so so much that I would read it again for any purposes. Great 9/11 book.

After the north tower was hit the people in the south tower started to evacuate until it was announced that the south tower was clear to enter again. They were wrong. 18 minutes after the north tower was hit the south tower was hit aswell. My opinion on this book is that it makes you feel like your in the moment and witnessing what your reading. The way the book moves from perspective to perspective lets you hear and picture what everyone is thinking. I like books with this format because they give you lots of information.

This book is all about the 9/11 attack on America. There were many different stories but I'll tell you one. This was about Ladder Club 6. They were going down the north tower with an elderly woman and it started to collapse. They were still safe and called for help. None could come though because the north tower completely collapsed. No one had any idea where they were. It took them several hours but they finally escaped. There was nothing about this book that I would change. It was very informational with just the right amount of information about each story. I wasn't alive when this attack happed but thanks to this book I know how they felt with all of their emotions. I also know who did it and how. The only thing that I would add would be to add peoples stories that aren't well known.

The book Impact is about the 9/11 airplane crashes into the twin towers. The book is a unique book because it has about 5 different peoples perspectives and what they did in this day. As an example of the the story’s was about the firefighter squad that went into the north tower to try and save people that were injured from the crash. Another story in the book was about a new reporter and how they tried to get as much coverage as they could about the scene without getting injured. I really liked how they organized it with all the different perspectives on the 9/11 crash but the only thing I disliked about it was how it was confusing to keep track on who is who and what there situation is. So overall I gave the book a 4/5 stars because I really liked the content of the book it was just hard to keep track of the different people.

Impact was a informational text. 9/11 was a important date that we will not forget. Author Matt Doeden takes us back to 9/11 at 8:00am when the event happened. He uses quotes and information to bring together a story of why the heroes of 9/11 have the titles they do today. The book insists of Flight 93, (of course) the North Anda South towers, and more. I liked this book, not so much as others but only because it’s sad in my opinion. Read this together with my twelve year old. I like the way it's set up with the different view points from different individuals. I felt it was informative and did a good job relaying all the facts especially for a younger audience. I would highly recommend for homeschooling families.

Reading it brought back a flood of painful memories of devastation, fear and disbelief. The author doesn't sugar coat, but it does share some "happy" endings with the slightest bit of humor about the man who uses his squeegee to get out, and carried it with him after he made it out of the tower. This book also shares the miraculous story of the firefighters who helped carry an exhausted woman down 73 flights of stairs and survived the tower collapse and were rescued after being stuck in the rubble for over 12 hours. Powerful read.
