UNEXPECTED LOVE This is the love journey of Esther and Sorin. If this was Facebook their relationship status would be labeled complicated. Soren is the second born son sonin a Russian crime family so yes he is the spare but he is also the muscle and he kills without prejudice. He is resigned to this fact and frankly he's OK with it. That all changes once he meets Esther. She is the best friend of his oldest brother's girlfriend. now Esther is loud proud and she don't give a f*ck. He's tattooed everywhere and attitude to match those tattoos. The two of them hook up they have a really good time but soon Sorin realizes that she can get hurt. And by hurt I mean she can get very dead. I really love the series I really wish each installment was longer but such is life. I can't wait for the next installment this story is definitely five stars. Kaye Blue Another fine job done!!! <3

3.75 stars. This was another great quick read for me! But I feel like this book was just missing a little something. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed it but I feel like I'm missing something in the end. It probably is because I didn't feel as deep of a connection between Esther and Sorin as I did with Vasille and Fawn. I think because Vasille saved Fawn from the beginning they bonded right away, but it took some time for Esther and Sorin to even admit they wanted to be with each other much l 3.75 stars. She can really put Sorin in his place! Great read!

Sorin's fall was memorable in this series. He even matured a bit from "Keep." Esther was a friend thru and thru to Fawn and you know I think that's what Sorin admired about her along with her sassiness toward him. The story ended as it started - Esther and Sorin fighting over Maria (Vasile and Fawn's baby girl) as kids who secretly attracted to each other- too cute!!! Looking forward to "Avenge" just as long as it's not psycho and bat-crazy Natasha doing the avenging... lol Sorin's fall was memorable in this series. He even matured a bit from "Keep." This is book 2 in the series Esther and Sorin's story. Esther is a very sassy lady and Sorin has a temper, so you know there is going to be sparks. I received this book for an honest review. I had the privilege of reading book one and I have to say thought book one was good I enjoyed this book more. I loved the story of Sorin Petran and Esther Jordan. Sorin had feelings for Esther that he did not want to admit to but on the same hand Esther was in denial of he feelings as well. They knew how to push each others buttons. One thing Sorin loved about Esther was that she spoke her mind. In 'Keep' Sorin was the lighter of the two brothers, I suppose being the second son takes off some of the pressure and so I was looking forward to this book. Parts of it I liked but something was missing from the whole, it wasn't Sorin because I liked him the problem was with Esther, she was portrayed as a kind of larger than life figure, loud-mouthed and fearless but when you looked closer she just seemed very immature and young and something was missing. The back story gives us a few twists and turns and a couple of new characters plus we get a bit more Vasile and Fawn.

I received an ARC for a review. Keep was the first book I read by Kaye Blue and I enjoyed it and Fall did not disappoint. I loved the chemistry between Sorin and Esther and the fact that they both had a sense of humor. Better than the First! Wow! What a good book. Esther and Sorin where so hot! You will need a bucket of ice to cool off! I love them the banter between these two had me laughing out loud, literally. This book was so good,I could not put it down. the brother and the best friend hated each other from the start,or did they. The sexual tension was so thick between these, you just knew in book one they would hook up and boy what a book up. They when perfect together. I am loving the men of Clan Petran.

I loved this book! Esther and Sorin are my new favorite couple. I loved the banter between them, their dialogue was pure comedy. This is definitely a story of a "Thin Line Between Love and Hate." Fall picks up from Fawn and Vasile's story and tells of the rough road to love between Esther and Sorin aka the human versions of Oil and Water. In the beginning, they DEFINITELY do not mix well together. However, over time the snarky comments, seething anger and eye dagger gazes, somehow turn to attraction, lust and then love, which I was here for, all the way. Esther is one tough cookie, who prides herself on being strong, independent and able to look after herself. However, deep down she was like a lot of us, she had insecurities, fears about being alone, worrying about her best friend (Fawn), not being confident in her looks and going through life unloved; so, she learned to build up her walls and put on false bravado at times, to keep from being hurt. Sorin is my guy all the way, I really enjoyed his character. He is fun and funny, jovial and charismatic, but he is definitely no nonsense, when the time calls for it. He managed to bring levity and good natured humor, to many dark or grim situations. Underneath the muscles and tatted, tough exterior, he was a man wanting to be acknowledged, as something more than just Vasile's "little brother". He was in a way, looking for love and support and to just be wanted for himself and to be taken seriously. Esther and Sorin are perfect for one another because where one is serious, the other brings some fun and humor and vice versa. Both of them, shared similar insecurities, that they learned to hide, but once they got through their disdain for one another their passion and love for one another really shined through. Did I mention that they are my favorite couple in the series, so far? I definitely want another spin-off story about these two because their bickering and petty fights are just so entertaining. Plus, I really want to see what else is in store for these two and their future. They really are awesome characters in my opinion and make for a fun read for sure.

Enjoyed this one more than the first for quite a few reasons. 1) I'd met the characters in the previous book and had a glimpse of their backstories. Something I didn't get with Fawn and Vasile. 2) Personalities. Esther is a spitfire. She knows her own mind, she's brash and ballsy, but smart. I didn't seen her make one bad move. Other than falling in love with a known mobster, but I'm fine with that. It's a mob romance. 3) Sorin. Ohh, God, Sorin. Handsome, charming, smokin' hot sexy. Alpha without being too much of a prick. It's hard finding the right balance, but it was met here. Even more, he's honest. About his feelings or lack thereof. That is always appealing. And pretty damn unheard of for a mobster. 4) Their relationship. Anyone with eyes could see this pairing coming in the first book. Could immediately see the attraction Sorin had to a woman who wasn't intimidated by his hulking presence or impressed with his money and status. Mobsters are rich. Esther stood on her own, even when he told her not to; which only served to heighten his desire for her. Them falling in love was pretty much a foregone conclusion, but it was still worth the journey. Especially watching Esther realize she could be vulnerable and sensual with this man. A man she swore she would never want. Not really a fan of the alternating POVs or the first person prose, but that's just a personal preference. It didn't take away from the story in any way, and in fact, added to it when dealing with their emotions for each other. This was a great little escape. I'm going to check out the next.

Now, I am usually a fan of enemies to lovers romances (as long as the H and h are faithful after meeting), but this book lacked the really good banter that often comes with those. I've noticed that this author seems to leave a lot of things unsaid between the characters to the point that I think there needs to be a little more dialogue happening between the Hs and hs in these stories. I didn't like Esther's character as much as Fawn's. She did come off sort of childish and indecisive at times rather than strong and independent. A lot of other reviews talked about the lack of emotional connection between the characters, but I think the real problem was that the only emotion was coming from Sorin. His monologues mentioned his feelings (other than physical) several times and he was always the one pushing for more up until the end, but we never really got to see Esther get past her denial stage to embrace her feelings. She just sort of jumped from refusing they were even together to having to be the aggressor pretty suddenly and we didn't really get to see her maturation there. She also seemed terrified of emotions and feelings for some reason and we never got any insight into her problems with openness. So, with all of that said, I still devoured this book pretty quickly, it was a good read, and I wasn't put off of the rest of the series.

How do you fall in love with a mobster? How do you get connected with a family of crime and violence? Easy, let him show you the real him and make you feel things you never really wanted to. Anyone else treating him that way would be dead. Unfortunately killing Esther is not an option as it would upset his brother. Esther has just gotten best friend Fawn back into her life and doesn't intend to let anyone scare her away. Sure Fawn's new friends have guns and cryptic tattoos and all but if they were that bad they'd be in jail right? No, best to tolerate them ignoring the worst of the bunch Sorin. * * * This is the second installment in the Romanian Mob Chronicles series featuring Sorin and Esther. These two had secondary roles in Keep getting along like oil and vinegar. Yet, you know what they say: love and hate, just two sides of the same coin. I totally appreciated and loved the author's way of romanticizing the mob making it seem perfectly normal to have a mobster carry on with business as his love interest comes to terms with the reality of things. Who needs chocolates and flowers when your man shows his love by breaking bones or putting a bullet into someone. Now that's true love. :) Loved the chemistry between the main characters. Some of the adult content scenes are five alarm HAWT with a side of whoopie that most readers will enjoy as much as I did. Actually has me thinking to explore the possibility of getting my own mobster lover. Yup, that hot. Added to that is an interesting storyline. While there's no complex or indepth action-adventure, there's still enough that held my interest from cover to cover. And that brings me to my issues. This is a story that should have been doubled in word count. As is, it just didn't work in that the scenes were condensed, superficial, and lacked depth. Instead of a full meal, I got snack sized portions. So while I loved the story and savored the adult content scenes, in the end, I left unsatisfied and wanting. One vague non spoiler example. Natasha is a secondary character who knows the score and accepts her place in the mob hierarchy. I actually had empathy for her as females in this situation do have to use what they have and know to survive. Guess if she was in a motorcycle club she'd be labeled a club sweet butt or mama. Telling me something about her doesn't mean anything if it doesn't makes sense. In looking at the story, the purchase price, and the overall presentation I do recommend this book with reservations. For those readers who enjoy a combustible enemies to lovers antihero theme, without a purchase price concern, this is a book/series to check out. The allure of mobsters does have it's fans and I'm one of them. Just keep in mind that the story could have been better if it had been fleshed out and given the chance to develop and grow.

REVIEW: This is the PRINCIPAL CHARACTERS: Sorin Esther SECONDARY CHARACTERS: Vasile Fawn Natasha SYNOPSIS: She never understood the life of her best friend and she was sure she could never fall for someone like him. He was sure he would never fall for anyone, much less for someone like her; someone who was not scared of him and didn’t care one bit about impressing him. But things are not always how we plan them and they will soon find out; the question is: Will she be able to live in his world? REVIEW: This is the second book of the Romanian Mob Chronicle, and this one is about Sorin (Vasile’s brother) and Esther (Fawn’s best friend). Esther being independent, strong willed and stubborn and Sorin being Sorin, you don’t think they would find a way to make it work, but as the story develops you see they may have a chance. This book it’s also written from both characters points of view, and I always appreciate that in a book, it gives you the feeling that you’re hearing both sides of the story and not judging one character (haha). Just like the first book of the series, it gives you closure, of course you (I always) want more of the characters but their story ends with the book (not in a bad way) and is always nice when characters that you already know are an important part of the book. It was a fun and entertaining book. HAPPY READINGS!!!
