"The year 2010 has changed my life and makes me become a great writer. I have started a new chapter in my life because of God showing me signs and visions. God has showed me things I have never seen before. He gave me some powerful words to the people of Haiti after the earthquake in 2010. From that time I got the inspiration to write every day. I wrote a poem to Haiti called “Remembering Haiti.” It was two weeks after the earthquake occurred in January; I sent my poetry to the Tablet, the Catholic perspective, on the news and opinion from Brooklyn and Queens, where it was printed. Although I had always liked writing, I have never in my life believed I could write so many poetries, that I had this magnificent gift in me to lay out this foundation of opportunities that can help me to expand my dreams. I have great faith in myself that my life has already change; I can see things clearly, I am optimistic, I am working on my goals every day, I am getting closer to fulfilling my dream. I have laid out my foundation, have the materials and the tools right in the palm of my hands to build my dreams. As God shows me these great gifts and visions, I will continue to do as he says. I will always listen to Him. God can shift things around and change your life and make you a much better and experienced writer."

I realized when reading the description that this author was religious but I did not realize that every single poem would be so religious or have religious overtones. I thought there would be something that could appeal to the general public, but, als, there isn't. This is a very religious book for very religious people. I am not religious and did not enjoy it for that reason. I found the poems themselves more like random and not very interesting thoughts pieced together. I am not religious and did not enjoy it for that reason. I found the poems themselves more like random and not very interesting thoughts pieced together. They were almost plain observations with no interesting aspect to me and did not at all draw me in. The description made it seem as though the author was going to really expand upon and detail some of her observations that she mentiones like natural disasters but it was really her talking out loud without any rhyme or reason and sometimes it doesn't even sound like English and/or doesn't make sense. Even the description has typos in it (I realized this after I read it when I was trying to make sense of this book!). I really wanted to like this book because I admire new poets and poets who work hard to publish but I really did not and do not think this is well written. Perhaps it will appeal to religious people solely because they will enjoy reading about God etc and not mind that it is very trite and often doesn't really make sense. Sorry--wish I could say something more positive!
