Well, I'm biased, but I gotta have faith in myself, right?

Enjoyable This was a fast and interesting read. It was uneven. The author brings downtrodden Indianapolis to life but Atlanta could have been anywhere. There’s not much character development. You get that the main character is broken somehow, coasting through life at such a low height it seems people would trip over him on the sidewalk. But the plot was interesting and the ending was satisfying. I plan to read her longer book, which is the true proof of a satisfactory read.

The best science fiction examines our existing world by asking what would happen if things were just a little different. "Healed" takes a look at science fiction on a personal level when a woman interrupts a man's life with an offer that eventually changes everything for him. Well-written, with a poetic look at urban life and how communities can be as broken and dispirited as the people who inhabit them, "Healed" is a great, little novella that comes to its end quickly, but doesn't rush. I can see other writers stretching a simple idea out to a book length, but "Healed" takes just the time it needs and no more. Well worth the read!

A crisp, short, uplifting read. This is a "one of" story (not first of a long series) that has a beginning, a middle, and worthy end. Young or old, or in between will all enjoy this marvelous tale..
