If I'm honest, I rarely read YA books any more. I've reached the age where I have moved across to predominantly adult books. Because of this, I was a little unsure when I started reading this story. I say story, what I should really mean is addiction. My worries were completely unnecessary. Because of this, I was a little unsure when I started reading this story. I say story, what I should really mean is addiction. My worries were completely unnecessary. This book pulls you from the very first lie. The characters are extremely relatable and I found myself unusually drawn to George and her plucky curiosity. Who could resist her determination? Her need to explore and be independent? Not much older than her myself, many of the situations she got into I could see happening to either me or people I know. Long story short, I did nothing for a full day but read this book. I wanted to see what would happen, how the characters would grow and change with each event. It was extremely entertaining and gripping. I would adore to go into great detail about each and every part of the book I loved, but fear that would spoil what I'm trying to say: YOU MUST READ IT. I can guarantee you will find it enjoyable and it is most certainly worth every penny. I could never regret a single second I spent reading this book. It was a joy from cover to cover.

But for Finn the Forest Festival means haunting memories and dangerous deals. He’s worried about Becky and her naive little sister George. He didn't plan on them finding out the truth. Soon everyone's life is in danger. A well written story. I really liked George. She is young naive and thinks she knows more than her parents. The lies she tells each parent is truly believable. Becky the wiser step-sister(to me) was likable as well. Unknowingly Becky uts her sister into a bad situation. The trouble they get themselves into seemed real, something that could happen in the world today. I won't say too much more because I don't do spoilers. Music and Lies is a fantastic young adult (dramatic) story. Filled with music, fun and unexpected dangerous situation. A great read!

A chapter into this book I realised I was going to have to find an uninterrupted block of time to devour every last page - and that's exactly what I did! And I cannot wait to read the second instalment. My festival experience wasn't quite as eventful as George's, thank goodness, but this book is written with such an authentic voice that I felt like I was there every step of the way (and I am pushing 40 now!) This book is unmissable - and my 15 year old daughter, attracted by the gorgeous cover, has stolen away my copy ready to binge-read - my only concern - she will get ideas of her own to run away to a festival - I just hope if she does she finds someone as lovely as Finn to look after her! I might even tag along for the adventure! Grab yourself a copy of this book now and transport yourself back to the gorgeous amazing summers of your teens when you felt invincible!!!!

I didn't love this, but it was an okay read. It felt like it took me ages to get into this at first, but after a while it turned into an okay read. It still wasn't one that I loved, and there were times where it started to lose my interest slightly, but it wasn't a bad read.
