Reviewed at Historically Romantic Throughout the Brides with Grit series Cate has been the solid foundation for her family. Her strength, devotion, and love has seen her family and friends through so much. Now she’s about to finally get what she’s wanted for longer than she would like to remember, one very special man in her life on an official, permanent basis. Except, life isn’t always fair, Cate knows that all too well so when the past comes barging into their present secrets will have to be revealed and unbearable guilt needs to be dealt with. We learned about Cate’s secret very early in the series, and now that knowledge is about to change lives when a stranger and her baby show up on Isaac’s doorstep. She couldn’t have timed her appearance for a more important moment if she’d tried as Isaac was just about to propose to his lifelong love, Cate. Now, his guilt over something he had no real part in will attempt to keep them apart. He didn’t count on a stubborn, brave woman determined to finally get her man. Even though Cate Corrals A Cattleman has been published for a few years now, there are always new readers discovering new to them stories. With that in mind I don’t want to say too much about this simply amazing story. I went through a long list of emotions with this story but what comes to the top is admiration for one very strong woman and one man who has held out for his true love his entire life. I loved Cate and Isaac’s story, it touched my heart in so many ways. If you’ve followed this series, then you’re in for a treat with this story. If you’re new to the series I’d strongly suggest starting at the beginning for each story is somewhat interwoven with events and people moving along as the series continues. Love Western Historical Romance? Then you’ll want to pick up Brides with Grit, it’s an interesting, engaging, damn good series. I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.

I just didn’t love this as much as the other’s in the series. I honestly felt like it was a stand in book. It mainly summarized what happened in previous books but no real growth in the characters. Just not in love with this.

As soon as I started on chapter one, I knew I had read this before. I remember loving the twists and unexpected situations! Linda sure has a great imagination and she writes amazing stories!

FYI: only 75% of the book was the story. The last 25% was samples from the author's back list. This disappointed me as it seems like the story ended abruptly. I like this series because we get to visit with previous characters. I love the family dynamics and the adorable children.
