This book is both fun and gorgeous. Full of zany mixed up words (malapropisms) as Clarrie muddles through his day. Guaranteed to have kids and grown ups laughing out loud. Storer cleverly sets up the game from the first page as Clarrie stumbles to correct himself and the confused letter is highlighted in a cut-out and pasted style. There's a gorgeous lightness of touch to the sketches, with pastel colours of greens and blues and accents of other colours to liven it all up. There is so much fun to be had with the words and pictures on every page. I'm a sucker for chooks and this book has some of the best chook scenes I've seen! It's a winner!

From a drive in the jar, no wait the car, to a gift of red noses, I mean roses, Clarrie’s Pig Day Out is loads of sun (oops, I meant fun). With silly situations and crazy commotion, readers follow farmer Clarrie as he heads out for a day of errands, but nothing goes as planned since he can’t seem to find the right words. This is a truly unique picture book that lends to an interactive reading experience and lots of opportunities to learn. And it's just plain fun to read out loud. Hilarious word-play. My 4yo was rolling around giggling about the blundering Clarrie.

A fabulous fun book. Kids giggled at the slippery worms, I mean words sliding over their tongues. They loved acting it out and drawing Clarrie and Bert and their mis-worded adventures.

This is a clever and original picture book that derives its humour from malapropisms. The use of malapropisms (incorrect words that sound similar to the correct ones) gives the book a wacky sense of humour and makes it into a fun game of "guess the right word" that you can play with both little and bigger kids. A book which was fun to read aloud, cracked up my son and opened a world of zany word play.
