As a fan of adult coloring books, I will say I wasn’t disappointed with this one, but I can see where it would more easily translate to younger children because of how the images are drawn and the educational facts incorporated. And don’t overlook God Bless America in the title, the book does have a focus towards God and religion, urging audiences to spend their time reflecting not only on America, but its sovereignty with God – so if that’s not your thing, you may want to skip it. In my opinion, it is mostly low-profile, but there are a few illustrations that directly reference God. For the zealous patriot in your life or the history-loving student, God Bless America: A Patriotic Coloring Book is a relaxing treat to help them find their zen and learn a little bit while coloring and reflecting on what makes America such an amazing country.

I was so excited to get this timely coloring book. God Bless America: A Patriotic Coloring Book is filled with images and quotes that reflect the USA and her history. The vast majority of quotes are ones that will ring as quite familiar. When my copy came in the mail, I loved just flipping through it. The images range from fairly simple pages to more complex. Personally, I love coloring books that contain such variety–it gives me a chance to completely color a page based on how much time I have. I was so excited to get this timely coloring book. When my copy came in the mail, I loved just flipping through it. The images range from fairly simple pages to more complex. Personally, I love coloring books that contain such variety–it gives me a chance to completely color a page based on how much time I have. But the first thing that struck me was the sturdiness of the pages. Each one is on pretty heavy paper with the image on one side. The backside of each coloring page lists the larger context of the quote (on the back of the picture that says “America! America! God shed His grace on thee” has the full lyrics) as well as a brief history of when the quote was said. I can’t help but think of what a wonderful educationaly coloring book this one is as well. Because the pages were so heavy, I couldn’t wait to experiment with my normal coloring mediums: Colored Pencils, Crayola Markers, and Sharpies. The crayola pencils were just fine. They might even be slightly preferred since so many of the pictures in the book do have some small details. The Crayola Markers colored just fine, and I didn’t see any of the color bleeding through to the other side. The pages are heavy enough that they continue to lay flat and do not wrinkle up. The Sharpies however, did bleed through the back quite a bit (to the point that the gray wording on the back becomes hard to read) and just a bit onto the next page. But I slipped a scrap paper behind and continued to color. But the pages are also perforated, so it would be easy to just pull one out as well. Overall, I’m quite pleased and excited about this particular coloring book. It’s one that I would highly reccommend. **I received a copy of this book from Blogging For Books in exchange for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.**

God Bless America A Patriotic Coloring Book This is a truly interesting coloring book with its patriotic theme. There are quotes from well-known Americans and statements of nationalistic significance incorporated within the assorted pictures. Adult coloring has become an almost instant hobby, but this book can be even more than just another title on the list of to-color-books. This would be an excellent addition to the American History class that is looking for a new way to garner student attention. The level of coloring skill needed varies as there are pages perfect for almost any age while others would demand a greater attention to detail with the fineness of detail portrayed. The statements are taken from the Bible, the Founding Fathers, and persons of more recent history (such as Neil Armstrong and Rosa Parks). This would be a delightful peak of American history to give as a gift or explore yourself. Enjoy a quiet afternoon reveling in the joys of coloring. This paper is a heavier quality that should take most coloring mediums and the pages are perforated so removing them is not an impossible chore. I loved this book. It was fun, relaxing, and also a learning experience. The paper is heavy card stock and doesn't bleed through when using markers. The pages are perforated for easy removal, but the spine allows for quite a bit of bending if the pages are being left in when colored. My children and I really enjoyed reading the notes while relaxing with a coloring page. This book would make an excellent gift. I think this would also work well in a classroom setting as a great addition to the history curriculum. Overall, would definitely recommend this book if you enjoy adult coloring books. It's one of the best I've seen. I received this book free of charge from Blogging for Books in exchange for my honest review.

God Bless America is A Patriotic Coloring Book. Coloring books for adults is the latest craze. This coloring book has original images (from nine artists) that go with quotes from Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, Neil Armstrong and other figures from history, historic documents, patriotic hymns (Battle Hymn of the Republic for example), and other historical tidbits that are on the back of each page. The images are all different and will look beautiful when colored in (they look pretty without colors too). The images include a barn, flags, man on the moon, fireworks, the Statue of Liberty, horses, buildings, birds, flowers, and planes (plus much more). The pages are thick so you can use crayons, colored pencils, or markers. The only problem is the spine. I wish it had been spiral bound to make it easier to color. I give God Bless America, 4.5 out of 5 stars. If you are looking for a historical, patriotic coloring book, then you will enjoy God Bless America. I guess I am turning into a coloring-book person. And what better subject to color (right in time for Independence Day) than American history? I absolutely loved Whatever is Lovely, the coloring book released by Waterbrook (the sister company of Multnomah) so I was really looking forward to getting this one. Though there are a few nice designs, overall I found God Bless America less appealing overall. I tend to prefer more feminine, flowery designs, so these pictures were a bit less attractive because they were more focused on monuments and such. I do like the biographical information on the back of each page, though, which gives background information on the illustrated quote. There were one or two pictures that were of historical scenes (such as "the British are coming" or "one small step for man" ones) which I liked, but overall this one had me a bit less impressed than its predecessor. Though this coloring book is far from bad, given the choice, I'd probably recommend Whatever is Lovely over this one. This is a great collection of patriotic coloring pages. Some are simple and straightforward, able to be accomplished fairly quickly. Others are more detailed. I like coloring books, and there is quite a selection out there for me. There are books based on movies, television show, other books, animals, emotions, events and various adult activities. This book is a collection of quotations from various Americans, taken from speeches and letters. Each page is drawn in a different style, and that is nice. Some of the pages need ink pens, some can take colored pencils and some seem to want crayons. The pages are not designed to be removed from the book, although if you wanted to, you could. An even nicer touch is that the back of each coloring page contains information about the quote and the American the quote came from. I expect it will take me the entire year to fully color and experience each page. I received this book from Blogging for Books for this review.

My family has recently really gotten into adult coloring books for stress relief. So when I saw this book I decided to give it a shot. I have to say I have had one that I have enjoyed more than this. So many of the pictures are of specific things and not scenes or just simple coloring of designs. This book is a beautiful piece of art. 9 people created original works for this coloring book and each page is a carefully crafted homage to the quote and the person behind said quote. God Bless America, is a beautifully illustrated patriotic coloring book by Multnomah. I love the devoted quotes, hymns, and historic documents. Some drawings are simplistic, but beautiful, and others are intricate. The pages are sturdy and colors don’t bleed. I use gel pens and coloring pencils, but crayons will work with some of the less detailed illustrations. As a patriotic military brat, I plan to frame some of my favorites after coloring them.
