Weird. But a lot of the pages had been lost to the cruel sands of time. So Finn took it upon himself to fill up the book with as many crazy delicious food ideas as he could. And since that only filled around six pages, he recruited Jake, Marceline, Princess Bubblegum, and the other citizens of Ooo to help complete the cookbook. There was pouring! There was mixing! There was a pasta-related Wizard Battle! Are you ready to feast your eyes and prepare your stomach for the most awesome, most delixious meals this side of the Candy Kingdom? Hey! January 2021 Reading Vlog is up!! The Written Review Oh. Look. Into the distance. It's Miranda Reads with YET ANOTHER themed cookbook. She's going to run out of bookshelves soon. In other words, I am an addict and I refuse to accept help. The long and short of it: I adored this Adventure Time Cookbook. In other words, I am an addict and I refuse to accept help. The long and short of it: I adored this Adventure Time Cookbook. I just finished the series for the first time a few weeks ago and am pretty devastated that the cartoon is over (...you think I'd be satisified with 274 total episodes but...) The premise behind this cookbook is that Finn the Human (after meeting his (view spoiler)[ mother, Minerva, on the isolated human island (hide spoiler)] decides to "borrow" her cookbook. Back in the land of Ooo, he begins to adjust and add to the book - first Jake's recipes then the rest of the gang jumps in to help. There's recipes from Marceline, Ice King, Princess Bubblegum - even a few from special "guests" Fionna, Cake and other folks from Aaa. It's showcased of a scrapbook of sorts. With the "original" text hidden by post-it notes, doodles and text written by the various characters. This had a very cute style and lots of great references - this book was CLEARLY made by a fan of the series. The recipes were about 95% appetizing (no shade to Lady Rainicorn's soy-human) and all were ones that I wanted to try. Jake's bacon pancakes and his fancy sandwich were among my top ones (even though that sandwich sounds like it'll take all day to make!). I'm really excited about this book and I can't wait to watch Adventure Time: Distant Lands!! YouTube | Blog | Instagram | Twitter | Facebook | Snapchat @miranda_reads

This book is so perfect for fans who love this series. The first recipe in the book is the bacon pancakes!!! I thought this is so awesome!!! Some of the recipe pages were weird because they were black and white? In a whole this book was so much fun!!

In spite of featuring a lot of promising and iconic treats and even a focus on cookery throughout its whimsical and comedic episodes, I didn’t find the Official Adventure Time Cookbook that inspiring. While capturing the voice of the show through character introductions to the recipes, and also discussing some events of later seasons, sadly, none of the recipes appealed to me. I’m just not a bacon fan! Dishes based on such memorable scenes in the show as Marceline’s fries, Jake’s Everything Burrito, or Tree Trunks’ apple pie are included along such bizarre offerings as the Lich’s jalapeno poppers or Ice King’s “Yeeargh” (some sort of marmite-esque spread). At best, they seemed unremarkable but also a little anticlimactic- I mean, can you ever really recreate an “everything burrito” in the non-cartoon world? Also, the recipes can be a little complicated for the show’s young fans to try, so maybe its intended for parents or adult fans? In any case, for a pop culture cookbook, the Harry Potter one seemed better, with more interesting and evocative dishes. Check out more AT ephemera I've been going through at Reading Rainstorm.

THESE RECIPES ARE ALGEBRAIC! If you are thinking about purchasing this book then I assume you are an AT fan. Do it. Get the book and start making things. It's lots of fun, the book is beautiful, and the recipes taste great because they were designed by real chefs (not just Jake on a midnight snack train). I got this as a birthday present and I was very VERY pleased. THESE RECIPES ARE ALGEBRAIC! If you are thinking about purchasing this book then I assume you are an AT fan. Do it.
