This Book met more than expectations... When I started this book I though hey it isn't that long I will be done with this in no time.. Then upon reading I realized that this is not one of those novels where you want to know what happens next.. This is a true story that you want to take something from , and it is worth taking the time to get something out of it.. IT starts with the Author telling how he had been on drugs and then his journey to exit that lifestyle starts his spiritual journey. I This Book met more than expectations... I do have to say that as a Christian I do not believe in going to the medium he went to see, or the séance.. He does not reference to God but the Divine, however, there is so much to take out of this book if you can look past what you don't believe in.. The path he has walked is somewhat the starting of where I am now, (not the drug part, but looking for further spirituality) which is why I guess I can relate to the book.. There are several mentions that hit right to home and will become my favorite quotes of life.. 1.Faith is something that every man and woman possess. With it we can conquer just about anything. Without it, one is like a boat without water. 2.Don't pay attention to a single word that comes from a negative person because they are only trying to impose their lack of belief in themselves and in the Power of God unto you.... 3.Rancor will infest out souls if we cling to it, mercilessly decomposing at any spiritual advancement we think we've made 4.The Thoughts of today can become the realities of Tomorrow.. Be vigilant of all that crosses your Mind. 5."Never Discard any event in your life as un-purposeful. There is a reason for everything. " And there are a few more that should be on this list.. While I don't believe in past lives, (Or some of things he does such as séance)I do believe that Hector Arencibia did find a spiritual journey of his own, and while some of the things in this book are things some of us may know, sometimes we need to hear, or see them again.. Don't let spiritual differences detour what you can take from this wonderfully well written book. Many of us could not travel the world on faith, and since God did fund his trip and help him around the world- he was definitely led by Someone bigger than all of us.. God helped him succeed in his journey, and I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a spirituality in a higher form.. As hector said" we are nothing without faith"... While I recommend this book highly, I do suggest that one would take their time reading it so that it can be digested and you can take all you can from it..

This isn't a Book, it's an Experience This isn't a book, it's an experience. I feel that my soul traveled with Hector all through these lands and because of his words I took wisdom away from the journey. To share about your demons, that takes courage. To share about your spiritual path, that takes humility. To share your lessons, that takes an artful tongue and The author has all of the above. To share about your spiritual path, that takes humility. To share your lessons, that takes an artful tongue and The author has all of the above. I don't think this book was about a man traveling the world for thrill. It was about a man on a quest for his soul and he found it in the ancient places where all things began. He found it in the earth because he entrusted himself to it. He opened his body and mind up to the opportunities of the wind and it blew him to heights he never expected. This man let the knowledge of the universe whisper in his ear from so many divine sources that it brought him closer to the main source itself. I feel like this book reaffirms everything I knew to be true and even gave me broader thoughts! If you ever debated the magic of travel, read this book. If you ever did travel, read this book. If you have a heart for foreign lands and blind trust adventure, read this book. The only non-fiction books I read are historical, of characters in history or for research purposes. This wasn't my type of book and now it's one of my absolute FAVORITES. This author doesn't drudge on and on and on in a monotone voice that holds no vigor. He doesn't press you with unimportant details in every little stone. He BREATHES these places for you. He describes in colorful and fresh ways that make the environment around you melt into Jungles. He makes living rooms and sofas into rickety carts. He makes the floor a dessert. He ignites your imagination and your spirit! That's talent! If I wasn't reading I was thinking about reading and even now there's a hollowness about the fact this book is over. I can't wait to see more from Hector! I can't wait to see what else he has to offer from his musings and I follow him on pretty much every fan sight there is! This is a work of art. This book is epic. This story is bold and honest. The writing is flawless. The message lingering! This is a new addition to the royalty of literature. A new classic. Free falling into these chapters and watching the universe work was magnificent! To know it's all true, makes it magical. I'm so lucky to have found this little book! Don't miss this journey! Please don't pass up this chance at freedom through pages. Maybe you will feel the fire you're looking for too!

This is a fairly quick read, yet a very enjoyable and satisfying one. It chronicles Hector's call to travel the world while doing some soul searching. I really enjoyed the book and truly wished it was a tad longer. This book is about Hector, a Miami man who one day realizes his lifestyle no longer provides him satisfaction but actually is a downward spiral to self destruction. He decides it is time to start an inner journey traveling through the world, so he heads out West onto the sunset. Along This is a fairly quick read, yet a very enjoyable and satisfying one.
