   while reading the book, I was tempted to give it 4 stars because at some points I did not find it a smooth read ... but getting to the end of it and when this book succeeded in stealing my tears... I easily gave it 5 stars. I was happy to read a book that sheds light on the situation in few Arab countries, especially Syria without trying to to pull the rope to any side... This book is about bitter reality written in sweet Arabic poetic language.... I liked the nice use of language and the way she while reading the book, I was tempted to give it 4 stars because at some points I did not find it a smooth read ... but getting to the end of it and when this book succeeded in stealing my tears... I easily gave it 5 stars. I was happy to read a book that sheds light on the situation in few Arab countries, especially Syria without trying to to pull the rope to any side... This book is about bitter reality written in sweet Arabic poetic language.... I liked the nice use of language and the way she played with sentences to mean something different from the point of view of each side of the subjects she discussed.... The Syrian writer, Lama, was able to touch my heart with few details that only a Syrian can relate to.
