In my youth I spent quite some time reading Lovecraft, Bierce and even the Pan Book of Horror Stories. Yes, I’m that old. So, I was interested to receive a copy of this book and update myself with the modern version of the genre. There are 17 stories in this collection and some are short and some are of more traditional length. It’s probably just me but I did not get enthused. Only a couple of stories raised my interest. And the overall effect was not helped by some poor proofreading.

Won this in a Goodreads giveaway... good read, not Clive Barker level, but who else is?? ... well written, good stories, it would make an excellent coffee-table book with its glossy, dripping blood cover but watch out: your friends will swipe it!

I received this book as part of the goodreads giveaway. I really enjoyed these stories. Although not as scary as I would have liked they are well written and make a good coffee break read.
