I seriously don’t think I will ever get sick of the Riley Paige books. She is such an excellent character. I love how smart she is and how she is able to really get into the killers mind and think like they think...I love that every book we get a little more into not only Riley but Bill, April, Walder, and even Gabriela and the other secondary characters that pop in and out of the series. I also like that you don’t really necessarily have to read in order. I mean I’ve read 1,2, 5, 9, 10 and 11 a I seriously don’t think I will ever get sick of the Riley Paige books. The way that Pierce is able to put this thought into these cases and into the murderers is really amazing. I feel like we get to see a more raw Riley with this one. I mean we see her really struggle with PTSD from the Peterson things and we get to see how it really effects her. I feel like April is annoying, she is always throwing tantrums then running away. Will she ever learn? Think about what happened with Peterson why would she even do that or event think about hitchhiking again. Granted I have read book 5 so the cliffhanger wasn’t much of a surprise for me but still…..

I really enjoy the Riley Paige series. There are a few things that kind of bring it down - 1) I do not like when the main character has people "out to get them" or make them look bad... one of my pet peeves... and Riley has a superior agent who is "out to get her" 2) some of her actions are a bit "over the top" ... and you just know that no one would really do something like that But the stories are interesting and entertaining

After the last book in this series I was hoping it would pick up more, but I had trouble keeping a bit of my interest. Generally it's a okay book, but the main character going on and on about her past and not moving on is hard to overcome. She seemed to be tougher in the other books. I'm going to see if the next book picks up more.

Just nope. First and second books, I thought the character development might be spread out evenly over all the books in the series, but in this fourth book, it's still so severly lacking. The same themes and sentences keep being repeated, without any development. Too bad!

I like Blake Pierce books, they're shorter than a regular novel but pretty interesting. The writing itself could use some work and there are a few typos but they're still entertaining.

I listened to the audio book and was really annoyed by the English accents when the book takes place in the U.S. I know the book is fiction, but c’mon...

Time is something that is so intricately wound into our lives that we cannot escape it. From the moment we are born, we are counting down to something. Our next birthday. The next holiday. Going to school. Driving. Graduating. Drinking. Getting married. Having kids. And then starting all over with the next generation and their countdowns, too. Normally we are counting down to joyous occasions that we are happy and excited about. When someone takes that time-honored (no pun intended) tradition an Time is something that is so intricately wound into our lives that we cannot escape it. From the moment we are born, we are counting down to something. Our next birthday. The next holiday. Going to school. Driving. Graduating. Drinking. Getting married. Having kids. And then starting all over with the next generation and their countdowns, too. Normally we are counting down to joyous occasions that we are happy and excited about. When someone takes that time-honored (no pun intended) tradition and twists it into something deadly and horrifying, people are shocked to their cores. For Riley Paige, time is something so precious. Time with her daughter, time required for her job. And knowing when it is time to do one or the other is a constant struggle. But because this is something she knows so intimately, she has insights even beyond her amazing skills as an FBI agent. Doubly frustrating for her, then, when she is told to leave the case and go home. Leaving behind junior agents who don't know what they're dealing with, and a head honcho who is so far wrong he'd have to be struck by lightning to see the light. Perhaps this is a blessing in disguise, though, because Riley knows that she is desperately needed at home, too. Ultimately, the reader knows that Riley must resolve the one before turning her full attention to the other. Because a mind divided, just like a house, will fail. I loved this read. It was so hard-hitting and evocative. There was, however, a cliffhanger at the end of the story which I did not appreciate. I'm just not a fan of cliffhangers. If you're coming into a series with multiple books out, as I am with this series, then it's not so bad. You can dive right into the next book and pick up without missing a beat. However, we're not all able to do that. We may not be able to find the next book, or afford the next book. In some cases, the next book may not even be out yet. And then the reader is left unresolved and frustrated, and that's just mean. So while I really love this series, this one has to get three stars. Once Lured I LOVE the Riley Paige Mystery Series! Each book is so creative. I am especially fond of books with serial killers...I know I'm weird lol! Each book in this series has a serial killer...score! What I like most about this series is that the stories are original. I can definitely say I've never read about the type of serial killers he writes about. Very creative! I also LOVE Special Agent Riley Paige! I love books with a strong female special agent character. She isn't afraid to stand up for her victims and do what she believes is the best to save them! She will risk her badge to do whats right. I will have to say that I cannot stand Special Agent in Charge Carl Walder! I wanted to just reach into the book & smack him. I realize he needs to be in the book to cause conflict, but that doesn't mean I have to like him! Riley struggles with trying to be a mother & also be an FBI agent. Each book in the series shows the struggles she & April face. Riley battles this each day..wondering if she is doing the right things for April. I'm looking forward to reading more about their relationship. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good thriller!

This one was not a favorite. I felt like in this book, Riley Paige was constantly going against orders, and just had a carefree attitude. I didn't like that it spent so much time focusing on that part of the story. This case was about a killer who talked to and took orders from his dead grandfather to torture and kill girls leading up to a doomsday. I did like how often this book showed his point of view. It also made it a bit frustrating when I knew where the women were being kept and the FBI kept going in circles. Lastly, in her personal life, Riley's daughter April spent just as much time going against her mother's orders and was getting mixed up with the wrong crowd. I am hoping book #5 is a little bit stronger.

This one was pretty good, but I was a little bored at the beginning with the same formula from the previous novels - about troubles at home with her daughter and whether she should take a new assignment. Finally, it gets into the meat of the story and leaves you with a MAJOR cliffhanger... must head on to the next!

I love the hunt for the serial killer, but, as much as I love it, I dislike the constant conflict between Riley and April in this book. The non-stop angst suffered by Riley only confirms the impossible situation women have been forced to deal with - juggling a home, job and children with something always suffering. April's continuing stupid behavior resulted in a very predictable ending.

    Donna ~ The Romance Cover

These books are incredibly addictive and as you can see from my reading list, I am reading them at the rate of knots. I have been devouring this series and every other series this author has written. What I will note, is that the books seem to be getting shorter at the same price point and the editing leaves a lot to be desired. However, the stories just bring me back for more and more and more.

The mistery in this 4th book almost takes a secondary plane. It feels like more of the same as seen in the previous books. It's Riley's struggle to balance her role as an FBI agent and as a single mom to a troubleb 15 years old tenager that makes the reading more compeling and interesting. Like the other books of the series, is not a bad book, yet it is not a mystery masterpiece by any chance.

Riley seems to be a good FBI agent, battling evil on all fronts: persona demons, family woes, and psychopaths. It just feels weird that in the last 3 books (this included), she couldn't solve the mystery without consulting with a dangerous inmate. It's just so frustrating.

I am not sure whether I should write Spoiler Alert here, but this book was a constant deja vu of Hitchcock's Psycho. The least interesting and most predictable so far. After 4 books in a row, I still like the author and I will definitely give the next book a try.
