A great techno-thriller series. I have read books one through six and am waiting on seven to come out. This is an action-packed series: nuclear bombs, cloaked figures, gene editing. Techno-thriller, so glad that I read this, was a great introduction for these types of stories. Grabbed me from the start and kept me inthralled until the very end.

This really is an amazing series, and so well written. A fast paced, Techno Thriller with an entertaining and memorable plot. It’s definitely well worth a read. Helix – Episode 1 Excellent Story. I’ve always enjoyed a book that takes the reader from the present day, back to the past. Which gives a good background on the formation of the characters. The story moves along at a good pace with something always happening to keep you interested. My favourite thing about reading is being entertained by a good book, and Nathan Farrugia has well and truly delivered with this book. I look forward to the next instalment. Helix – Episode 2 Another splendid book from this talented Author. This story flows on very well from the first “Helix Episode 1” book. At one time Sophia, Jay, Damien and Nasira were all part of The Fifth Column, being trained and directed by them. Now they all struggle to stay away from it. Sophia is trying to find it’s Operatives to deprogram them, with the help from two girls she succeeded in doing this to already. Meanwhile Jay, Damien and Nasira are in America trying to rescue Aviary who is being guarded by Marines. The CIA and Marines are in for quite a shock when they come up against these four with their enhanced abilities. This is one hell of a ride, and the action scenes are amazing. Nathan Farrugia sure knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat, with a great storyline, and a diverse range of very interesting characters. This is definitely well worth a read. Helix – Episode 3 Simply Amazing. This is the seventh Nathan Farrugia book I’ve read, and I have absolutely loved every one of them. This story is extremely well written, and the Author has that wonderful ability to pull the reader into the story with a great plot, and a good mix of interesting and diverse characters. General Vitali Sych probably wished he never met Denton. The General needed troops and allot more than Denton was offering. If the General wasn’t going to listen to Denton’s solution and use his Syringes, then there was sure to be a violent outcome and probably one the General wasn’t going to like. Jay was driving like a mad man trying to get away from the casino, and he had to help Nasira, Damien and Aviary who weren’t fairing too well. There were marines absolutely everywhere, and far too many to hang around and try to disarm. Luckily for them the Fifth Column gave them special abilities, as Gleb would say “Genetically Diverse” that would assist them with getting away. Damien and Nasira are less than thrilled to find out they could have a trigger that was injected into them that could activate at any time and kill them. They need to work out how they can switch off the ticking time bomb inside of them. With psychopaths running the Fifth Column they are all going to have to be allot more careful than they first thought. If you haven’t read a Nathan Farrugia book then do yourself a favour and add him to your reading list, you won’t be disappointed.

I love the science of discovering the junk DNA we all have isn’t so junky and that amazing abilities can be unlocked except, uh, you just know some zealots are gonna use these abilities for their own nefarious purposes. They don’t always succeed but they excel at getting captured, having their best plans thwarted at every turn, and getting injured beyond belief. Yet, despite all of their apparent bad luck and that they’re fighting against an implacable enemy, yo gotta give Sophia and her team props for fighting the good fight.

I cannot wait to read the next installment. "You almost need to be superheroes to stop those guys." It is written in today's age following a group of people from Oleysa's past. The memories of the past events help piece together a story that has taken a different twist from where the group thought it might go and they have a completely new enemy that they did not see coming. Each page turns almost of its own volition as you are sucked into the story. Enjoy! The second book in the serial Helix. Three factions are in play in this story. One is the Fifth Column. The other two are yet unidentifiable. However, there are hints that one might be called Purity. Covert operatives in all three factions are running complicated plots. There are some common ground between two, I wonder if they will join together to overcome the Fifth Column or the new yet unidentified enemy. "Bloodshed is where we started and it’s where we end." Great story, great characters and a story that keeps you glued to find out what happens next. Enjoy! "Your destiny awaits." The third book in the Helix serial and things are heating up. Sophia and Oleysa are closing in on their targets. Damian, Nasira and Aviary are doing what they can to save Jay. Denton reveals that DC is a double agent and an Intron executive denies any involvement with the Fifth Column. So what about Purity or the Sixth Column? Whew- operatives galore, plans within plans and lots more to happen. Cannot wait to see what happens next. Stay tuned campers, stuff just got even more interesting. Favorite line in the book, "Hogwarts for soldiers?" Enjoy! I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Fast forward 6 years and these four may be separated by oceans but all are working to bring down the corrupt organization of The Fifth Column from which they have managed to escape. Oleysa has been clued into a new threat that is perhaps even deadlier than The Fifth Column, while simultaneously scouring the continent for clues and leads to find her kidnapped friend, Val. Sophia is on her own mission to deprogram Fifth Column operatives but runs into a new breed when she comes up against Valeria (uh- oh!) and finds her programming has been firewalled. A cliffhanger of an ending to epiosde 3 leaves us with a brutal face-off between Oleysa and Sophia. Once again packed with loads of action and fight scenes, this book has not one dull moment. Told in much the same fashion as episode 1; 2 & 3 bounce between various characters story lines from all over the world, Russia, Las Vegas, Colombia, Poland, you get the idea. While the settings are scattered all throughout the world, Farrugia does a great job of staying authentic to each locale in the scenes. The feel of each place came through well in his writing. I enjoyed the new characters introduced this go around, including Aviary, who I am eager to learn more about. The way in which the characters storylines are all so connected but yet separate at the same time is well engineered and crafted. Farrugia has some great one liners in these episodes, there is always room for a well placed Harry Potter reference in my mind! The standoff between Sophia and Oleysa is intense and makes me wanna shake them both. Like, just hear the other one out for 2 minutes and you could clear up a whole lotta misunderstanding and confusion ladies!

In reality, they are enrolled in a secret program to train the youngsters as lethal operatives because each of them has a special ability. The story starts in the present day and quickly rewinds ten years to introduce us to Olesya and her teammates’ first days through to their present day missions. It took me a little while to get used to the flashbacks, but I soon bounced between them. Each backstory reveals a little more about the young recruits’ genetics, their training and how that influences their present situations. You get to know how the principal operatives have arrived at their current situations. I loved the friendship between Olesya and Xiu and I hope to meet them again in another episode. New characters are emerging and the story is interspersed with a little light humour, building into an exciting new series. The second episode of Helix: Exile, moves seamlessly through the action between the different factions who were once on the same side. Inevitably, some of the friends who trained together will come face to face in combat and I am so looking forward to how Nathan deals with this. Interceptor is another exciting episode of Nathan Farrugia's Helix series, which is consistently well written with familiar characters and new ones emerging. As always, this episode is packed with action and the storyline is evolving into a web of intrigue. I'm looking forward to Episode 4. Keep them coming Nathan!

"The end is never the end, though, is it?" For me this is a difficult book (or three books in one) to rate as I am torn between 5 stars for part one, 4 stars for part three and, perhaps, just 3 stars for part two - no, on second thoughts, make that two stars. So I guess I'll settle for an average 4. Let me try to explain without spoilers. The first section was intriguing, young people training to be the best in combat exercises and being able to utilise somewhat enhanced powers, the introduction of a teenage Russian girl on a sought after scholarship, and something definitely 'going on'. Then part two moves forward in time, some of the same characters but now on a mission. Now I enjoy fast, action packed books but I do like at least a small breather between the flight and fights and have some idea of what is going on; instead I found this entire section confusing possibly because I was so bored I started to scan the pages. Possibly, also, because none of the original protagonists had been sufficiency drawn in section one for me to care about them, who was who, when bundled together in fights. Then, mercifully, came part three and once again I was drawn into the story, the suspense and, yes, the action. It promises to be a good story but I don't think I'll be reading g book four. My thanks to Book Review 22 for the complimentary copy I received. The opinions given are entirely my own

I originally read all three volumes separately and I’m glad that they are now compiled into one book, giving the story more continuity. This series is like an adrenaline shot and I couldn't put the books down. The plot requires a considerable suspension of disbelief, but the science makes sense, so you are never completely sure whether the technology actually exists. In any case, it doesn't matter, since Helix is so action-packed that it's hard to stop for even just a second. I love that we don't have one or two strong female characters... we have a whole cast of heroines that could literally kill a bad guy with their bare hands. I enjoyed exploring the characters’ backgrounds and personalities, getting to know new good and bad guys as well. I found myself laughing out loud at the twisted sense of humor. I also liked how smart all the characters are. Even when they are going against each other, when one loses it's not because they make a stupid mistake, but just because their adversaries are also good. And it is not dumb luck that gets them out of sticky situations but their own brains and expertise. Like a perfect game of chess which stakes couldn't be any higher, all the pieces are lining up and I just want all the operatives to choose sides and fight together against the big baddies.

When they finally meet again who will be left standing? WoW is what I say. This book is action packed from the first chapter to the last. It was so easy for me to be caught up and lose track of time. The storyline about genetics and secret agencies is so detailed and well written. The characters come alive and you can root for Olesya. The atmosphere of the book comes through loud and clear. There is a fourth book out now and I can’t want to start reading that one. If you love spys, human genetics, secret societies and actions that is really intense, this is the box set for you. There is violence and adult situations so I believe that this book is meant for readers 18 years of age and up.. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book. This is my honest review.

Interceptor-4 stars-lots of suspense and interesting idea of pseudogenes giving people extra powers. I like the Damien/Nasira/Jay story arc, less so the Olesya/Ark/Val one. But, the rebel group they join is great, and the way there are different parties abusing and saving the poor pseudo-geners is interesting. At times, it's confusing, with too many players involved, but hopefully that gets clearer in the next book. Exile-2 stars-this was a disappointing instalment. Jay's pseudogenes were turned off, so now his group is after the people who did it so he can get his powers back. By now, I expected more things to connect, but it's actually more convoluted. More new characters are added in, without much to them, so I'm not so attached to them. As well, not much happens in the way of plot, so again I'm waiting to see what happens in Book 3. Helix-2 stars-things continues to fall apart in this instalment. Too many new characters and expansion of plots, most of which weren’t of interest. I like Jay because he has a sharp wit, and Nasira because she’s very clever. The rest are ok, and the plot itself is too convoluted. Won’t be reading any further.

Excellent This is a cracking read from an author who is getting better all the time and I was really glad when this box set came out to read the books together but it looks like we are going to have a lot more instalments. Great box set for amazing new series! This box set captures the first arc of an excellent new series! With edge of your seat action, science, teamwork, humour, and no small amount of loyalty and love amongst amazing characters, these books will grab hold of you and not let go! I have fallen in love with the characters and find myself anxiously waiting for each new book to come out to know what has happened. Well worth the read and a great deal to pick up as a set!

Helix episodes 1 - 3 I don't usually read books a second time but since I got the box set I figured I would read straight through. And now I want more. He keeps the characters interesting and ties their stories together well. The storyline is suspenseful but keeps you interested and looking forward to what comes next. I have read some of his other books and he has never disappointed. If you have the chance check these out.
